Matt, you and Tim are the best bass guru's in the world. When you speak with so much conviction, I log it in my memory as the gospel. Y'all are the best thing to ever happen in bass fishing and I sincerely appreciate you. Thank you.
I love the opening bell. Once I took the bell off and twisted up the arm, it became the perfect inline buzz bait. I no longer have a replace buzz toads after a few fish. For what it’s worth, fish in my area tend to hit quiet and discreet top waters for whatever reason over the loud, obnoxious ones.
The fall gear review, second only to the spring gear review! Unfortunately things here in the north are winding down and getting ready for that hard water. Looking forward to the spring thaw already!
Matt, best gear review in a long time!! I can’t usually find a 35min, 45min, 1 hr slice of time to watch a gear review but 20 minutes is perfect. I’m so excited about the Spro RC 50DD & Chatter Custom skirtless, but tell me that Scottsburough swimbait isn’t the exact same size and color as the Shad in Shasta!! You guys know more than anyone. I can’t wait to throw it there, especially next spring up the creeks!! Thanks as always for the great content.

Was in the market for a new spinning reel. Nobody on line had the Miravel in stock.. Had decided on another model. Checked Amazon's price on it, the Miravel 2500 showed up as 1 left. Ordered it, we will see if it comes. They had the 3000, same $129 price. Drag is the same, think the only difference is a slightly larger spool. I did use Matt's links to order some other stuff from tackle Warehouse, Love these guys!!!
The diawa exceler is as light as the miravel and has been out for several years. but I think the miravel will be a complete package of quality with smoothness and durability.
This actually saved me $$- was about to plunk down $240 for the Vanford but was hesitant because I remembered how much Matt liked the Miravel for its value proposition so I got this instead. Hasn’t arrived yet but I am sure it’s gonna be sweet. I do think the law of diminishing returns on spinners starts kicking in at $200 but I doubt the functional difference between the Miravel and the Vanford is so big that I’m gonna regret not spending another $100+ Besides, now I can buy some Tatsu 😂
I was wondering when y'all would breakout a standard tee. However you need to bring in the larger sizes 3XL and 4XL's. Thanks for another great review always enjoy the video's especially the underwater fish reaction to different baits.
The yum scottsboro baits are some of my favorites swimbaits. They have a nice body wobble and the tail kicks pretty wide. Only true complaint is they don’t have much of a hook slot if any so open hooks are almost mandatory
What do you think about the 19 vanquish c3000xg or the 21 Exsence 3000mhg for bass rod I am putting it on a mega bass wind buster rod I thinking about a vanquish what do you think I know you have the Exsence 3000 m
The R2S reminds me of an old "inline buzzbait" called a "Snagless Sally." Right? Am I making stuff up or do any other oldsters remember that bait? Worked great on big pile up north too.
Hey! Great timing...my 2500-size spinning reel got the drag burned out of it a couple of days ago by a catfish that ate my shaky head. Looks like the Miravel would be a great replacement to start looking at...
I would consider cranks like the RKCrawler, Curve55, etc. Mid-Shallow cranks because I feel like crankbaits come in 0-6(shallow), 7-12(mid-shallow), 13-19(mid-deep), and 20+(deep)
Ive been thinking about getting a jerkbait rod. So far i got my eyes on the jdm Aldebaran 31 or jdm metanium with either 6'10 medium expride B or megabass p5 destroyer oneten stick. What do you think tactical bassin.
What bodies of water are fish usually edible in? I follow my state fishing reports but they only cover big lakes or bodies of water that are contaminated. - Beginner Fisherman, mostly bank fishing
Which rod would you pair the Shimano Miravel reel with. I have an omen 3 medium power rod or a St Croix premier medium light rod. If I am pond fishing, with the occasional trip to Headwaters Lake in Florida, what type and pound test line would you recommend with this reel?
I know y’all may not see this, but huge shout out to your “little Allen” River2Sea Bully Wa frog. I caught my PB on it about a month ago among some lilly pads.
For those that want a reel that is smooth and has similar specs as the spinning reel the Daiwa Fuego LT in the 2500D- XH is an excellent comparison ( on paper).
So I'm fishing a Ned slowly over rock piles watchin this video when I take a devestating loss of like a 6 pound largie ! Was so into the video didnt expect that tank at all ! Extremely informative guys thanks
@@tacticalbassin thanks again, the reel is truly amazing! I went with 8lb Sunline FC Sniper paired with a St Croix premier medium light rod. I fished behind my house where the fish have seen just about everything I throw (so pressured water 😉). It was amazing, in 35 minutes today I had 7 strikes and landed 5 bass on a Ned rigged ZMan Crawz. Two largemouth in the 1-2lb range and three peacock bass 1lb, 3lb and a 4lb fish that fought like an 8lb largemouth. The rod and Miravel reel worked like a charm! Thanks again!
I love my screw locks. I buy them cheap and bulk off amazon. But... The issue I have with Most* screw locks, is the upper part of the screw being too close to the eye of the screw lock, so its tough to thread through the eye of a heavier gauge swimbait hook.
I've been wanting to try a Neko rig out but haven't had much confidence in throwing one up north here in MT. I usually throw a ned rig, would you say a Neko rig would be effective this far north?
Why not? Especially if you have clear water the Neko plays well in the same situations the Ned rig and shakeyhead do. Personally I feel like I hang up a bit less with a Neko since the hook naturally sits higher off the bottom plus you have the option of using weed less hooks.
Shimano can't touch Daiwa on the lower end spinning reel segment. The Miravel is supposed to duke it out with the Fuego LT... that's $30 bucks cheaper with same weight or lighter depending on size and comparable proprietary specs.
I also prefer Daiwa spinning and Shimano casting, even daiwa’s 50-80 dollar range reels are a lot lighter and smoother than the 100 plus dollar “budget” eggbeaters shimano offers
