- Today I'm checking out if Warface Clutch is still alive as we're slowly reaching the end of 2024! Let's talk about player count, but also game mechanics. The monetization model in this free to play classic caters towards pay to win, and the armour drives me a bit nuts from time to time!

★ ABOUT THE VIDEO:
In this video I'm playing Warface: Clutch, since I wanted to find out if the game is still alive after all these years. I'm also discussing the monetization system in Warface, and talk about certain features in the game such as armour, that I honestly wish that they would never have implemented in the game.
Warface is a free-to-play online first-person shooter video game developed by Crytek Kiev, co-produced by Crytek Seoul, and published by My.com. The full version of the game was released on October 21, 2013 as playable in North America and Europe. The game was developed with Crytek's in-house CryEngine 3. Warface centers around online firefights in player versus player (PvP) matches, with microtransactions allowing players to purchase weapons, equipment, and cosmetic gear. The Xbox 360 port, which was developed by Crytek UK, was discontinued in February 2015. The console version of the game was relaunched for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2018 and on the Nintendo Switch in 2020. Members of the game's development team split from Crytek Kiev in February 2019 to form a new development studio, Blackwood Games, who will handle future development duties for Warface. A tactical shooter spin-off game named Warface: Breakout was released on 26 May 2020 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

Today I'm checking out if Warface Clutch is still alive as we're slowly reaching the end of 2024! Let's talk about player count, but also game mechanics, the monetization model and more, when it comes to this free to play classic fps game.
It was a really good game back in the days. Cheaters and the gold weapons/armours ruined it.
I agree, it used to overall be a better game.
I started playing this game on my switch when I was younger man I miss it
Nice to hear that, and at the same time, I can also understand that you miss it.
Dispite the fails. The gun play is fun I ,still play on Switch. We don't have many options
Thanks for saying! Yes, I agree; the gun play is one of the reasons I still come back once in a while and play Warface. I also understand that there aren't many options when it comes to shooter or fps games on Switch. I wish that changes in a nearby future.
This one of those games that should have more players but doesn’t
Yes, that would have been nice. But at the same time, the game is older now and I therefore believe that the game would need some serious updates in order to compete with other shooters.
It would have if the pay to play feature was removed, but these games are designed for devs to make money
@@thebluesco.4352 Yes, the monetization system should has been holding back this game.
The game is no longer played much in Europe but in Russia it is still very popular with 100,000 players per day on PC
Thanks for your comment! Yes, I can imagine that :)
@@40splishsplash it's not me who invents it but the stats which say it.
@JuiceNow1 Sure, I understand that. it also makes sense that the most players that has been playing Warface over the years, is Russian Warface gamers.
I still play this game on a daily basis. The game is good, but there isn’t things I don’t like that needs to be fixed.
Thanks for your comment and feedback! Nice to hear that you're still playing Warface. Yes, no game is perfect, and there's indeed things that could improve in Warface as well. The whole monetization system should have been made different from the start, but at the time when Warface was released, there were quite a few games that was catering towards pay to win (unfortunately).
Is coop still alive?
This was kinda fun back then
The coop (Pve) seems to be hard to get into if you're solo queuing nowadays, at least I couldn't do that when I was making this video.
I have over 3k hours in the game. I played it back in the good old times from 2015 to 2018 and i have to say that its shame how they ruined the game. When i tried it few months ago its pretty much unplayable at least that was my experience as a 2kd player from my prime time. And now i see that there is around 500-600 players peak in 24 hours its pretty sad. But memories never dies.
Thanks for your comment! Yes, Warface has changed quite some...You did play the game during the peak years, I would say.
@ Yes exactly. At least its something good to remember.
The only thing I like about Warface is it was my first game in my ps4 in 2019. It also has so many cool missions ranging from training to expert but I wish they’d make the game solo friendly in the missions like Shark tower, like for you just to be a solo player you literary had to pay to win, cause you cant heal, stock up on ammo and still armer yourself without actually paying for the healing helmet and self regen armour. One more thing it reminded of Army of 2. It so sad to see this game slowly dying😞😭😭 hope fully they revive it so that I could complete the Shark Tower mission.
Thanks for your comment and feedback! Especially since I haven't been playing so much Pve in Warface.
@ do you have like a discord with players looking for players who want to finish the story missions there so fun.
@@ryan4053 I have a Discord, but I'm quite sure that no one is playing Warface, unfortunately.
I enjoyed the special operations and a bit of PVP, the shop is basically a casino. However recently the player base in EU has dropped and I can't find matches without lagging to the point were we get disconnected all from the mission.
Thanks for your feedback! Yes, I've understood that it has become really hard to get Pve when it comes to Eu servers.
I'm currently playing this as I type this comment. There's so much about this game that's really fantastic: yesterday I was playing PVE special ops for the first time in ages and I was blown away by some of the level designs etc especially considering it's a free game.
The only real problems I have with the game are the high ping because I'm in Australia and only distant servers seem active and the amount of gleefull spawn trapping Russians do
Thanks for your feedback, appreciated! Nice to hear that you got into Pve. I couldn't get into Pve when I tried to play it once again. I waited a very long time :)
Warface is the best
I'm glad you're enjoying it!
This was the best game after cod4 😢
It does indeed remind me of older Cod games, and I mean that in a positive way.
Thanks for taking your time to make such a long but also honest comment! I believe you're describing what quite a few players are experiencing in Warface nowadays, which is a pity. I believe the years you're mentioning (2015-2017), is some of the years when the game had a peak in many ways. Sure, there was problems already back then, but now like this. I had similar experiences when making this video, as you had.
game is like a daily meal. You shouldnt expect more from it.
That's a pretty sane saying, thanks :)
There is about 3000 people playing this game. It’s not much to compare to other games, but there is about 3000 people playing this game so there’s about 500 people playing on steam and also other launchers between Xbox Nintendo switch and PlayStation there is cosplay in the game. It takes about a minute to about three minutes to find matches certain modes on the Xbox cause I’m an Xbox gamer so I find matches pretty quick so between all platforms and all the launchers like I said there’s about 3000 people playing this game
Bro in which server you play?
Thanks for your comment! It's great if there's 3k players on average (a day) in total playing Warface, considering it's an old game. There's been around 300 plus players on Steam on average playing Warface as shown in the video the last 30 days, but that adds up of course when adding all the other platforms. But again, it's hard to find an exact number online. Let's just say that it's been holding up pretty well when looking at the stats throughout the last couple of years. There is indeed a core community from different platforms that are still playing on a regular basis which is nice.
Thanks for your comment! I personally play on EU/Amsterdam
@@vihaan4662 North America, sometimes to find matches quicker you have to search out of Regent and it takes about three minutes sometimes five when it comes to rank matches, depends on the day and time, but I have no problem finding matches
I remember the graphics used to look good on this when I played the beta, much better looking than the cod games back then but definitely looks aged now
Yes, it was pretty good looking at that time, I agree when it comes to your comparision.
So monetization deters people to play this game and thus game's going down the hill and monetization tactic failed. Why can't they be clever? CEO and marketing are dumb are they?
Good question, I wish there were some good answers to be found...One problem is that Warface had a pw2 kind of monetization system already from the start. Guess it's hard to make a 360 from that, since so many players has invested through the shop.
What other games similar to Warface do you recomend?
I've played other free to play shooters such as Black Squad, Ironsight, Combat Master, just to mention a few. My personal favourite when it comes to older fps games, is Dirty Bomb. It's a game though that haven't had any official support since 2019 and is nowadays being kep alive by community servers. But it's a great shooter, one of the best f2p games I've played by far :)
What about valorant?
@@spiuni333 Could be an option.
i use to play this game long time ago, favorite gun was the earth shaker Miller, good times man, now i just forgot about everything, my account password
Thanks for your comment! Maybe you're able to get your account (password) back, if you wanna play again?
@40splishsplash i have no intentions to play it again, i just remember it suddenly and researched it on RUclips, btw cool video u made also good content
@@marianlacosta Ok, I understand! Thanks for the positive feedback, I appreciate it :)
Were is heist?😭
Were is operation Blackwood?😭
Seems to be really hard to get into a Pve mission nowadays. I wasn't able to do that when I was recording gameplay for this video (unfortunately).
Everything except, Team Deathmatch, Storm and sometimes Free for all is dead, if you want to play plant the bomb or blitz you’ll only find it in ranked matches, as for Special Operations, most players are playing the Black Shark, For normal coop you can find matches most of the times.
Thanks for your comment and feedback!
I stop playing this game at 2020😢 can you tell how to download this game i forgot😢
On PC you can either play it on Steam nowadays or via the Epic Games Launcher.
Pay to Win killed it
p2w has been proven to be bad for most games that are built upon that kind of monetization model, unfortunately.
Its hard to read the menus
In what way, do you mean?
i don’t like the new menus
Thanks for your comment! Yes, I'm also one of those guys that enjoyed the older ones more.
Bots will save online pig servers🤣Amsterdam from Russia
Thanks for your comment! (Lol)
