S8 Pro Ultra owner for almost a year and I love mine. I have only hard floors and it mops them well and efficiently. One note the mop is removable. It's truly an autonomous cleaning device.
You said it starts adding extra rooms to map question do you have to remap the whole house or does it fix it self that the one issue I have with deebot your the first reviewer who said that about roborock
Yeah I don’t understand this. The S8 is my first robot vacuum and I pulled off the mop and put it back day 1 when figuring out how it all works. It’s just attached with Velcro.
the naming is not that much of a science, pro/max/maxv is for the robot itself and indicates different features, plus/ultra is for the dock, without or with auto-washing. That's pretty much it
I have a roborock for a year. We quit using it for about 6 months. I started using it again every couple of days and it's aweful. It does not pick up hair and I've checked the container and made sure it's no clogged. I don't recommend this product.
Do not buy Roborock products!! It may work fantastically in the beginning, but both the dealer and roborock itself only give a two-year warranty and after that you are on your own. This is the experience I had.
It looks like the same problem I have with S7 MaxV Ultra, is going to be on this new vacuum. I never refill the water tank on the vacuum on my own, because it auto fills it, but today, I was looking at the cashback offer, and cleaning it up for pictures, and there is brown build up or mold/mildew in the tank! So I have been cleaning my floors with dirty water! gross! I have found the same brown mildew in my clean water tank too, but Today is the first time I even looked at the vacuum's water tank. Please come out with a better solution to add to the Roborock products! It says you are only allowed to use Roborock cleaning solution, so now I don't know what to do!
It doesn't suck dirty water up in the tank. The tank will fill with only clean water. So as long as you use the robot every couple days, the water inside should not get stagnant.
This is a great review. I love the long-term reviews because it gives you the opportunity really get to know the product. Thank you for making it. I'm a little disappointed here about the lackluster obstacle avoidance. I just assumed because this is to be a flagship device, it would do a better job avoiding on the ground. I'm curious, do you or anyone know if this unit has a mop only function?
Update to this review: Roborock does offer a trade in credit now. The reason the link to the S7 MaxV ultra redirects to the S7 Max Ultra is because they discontinued the S7 MaxV Ultra due to RGB cam concerns
The S7 camera mode could only be unlocked by physically holding down a set of buttons on the device. I have no clue why they would remove the feature over "privacy" concerns in the follow-up model. Being able to remotely drive the robot is just very convenient.
Some people didn't like the idea of having a camera on there... But that's the hilarious bit, the marketing for the asset pro ultra says that instead of having a camera it now has "light sensor"..... Yeah it has an infrared CAMERA. The explicitly never call it a camera even though it's obviously just a camera xd Because the product is from a Chinese company I think some people have problems with a camera being on there
@@thibaultmolI mean they aren’t comfortable that your applicants can be taped in the safety of your home and that fear is totally justifiable tbh I just hope there is a law that prevents the use of these camera without specific permission by the owner because honestly it’s a useful feature
the fact that you fail to see why someone wouldnt want a device connected to the internet roaming around your house with a camera is at the very least surprising
@@thibaultmol calling it "just a camera" is as misleading as them not calling them a camera. Objects and surfaces are not as easy to recognise on the S8 pro camera, hence the poorer perf vs the maxv. Can still be a concern for many for sure
I have a Q5+ and the dust bin is not transferring contents into the dust bag automatically. Thoughts? Also, how often do I discard the dust bag? Thanks.
Honestly with how many designs are on the market its easier said than done. There are a lot of different scenarios that some of these do better in than others. I imagine the Q revo will become the best bang for your buck for a while.
There is a dirty strip at the floor by every wall in my apartment. That horizontally rotating brush isn't any good. I've been looking at pictures and videos to see if there's anything wrong with mine, but I don't see any difference. I've also checked that it really touches the floor. It appears simply to bee too weak of a design to do that part of the job properly. Any tips?

"[...] not removable, same thing with the mop" [2:41] -> What do you mean? The mop can be removed , washed, replaced ...

Wow, was just looking into these. Glad this rolled out out before I dug too deep. Thanks for the great review, as always!

This is the experience I had.
I’m also very confused by the max ultra names. I’ve just started looking at these and now I don’t know which one to choose
S8+ best bang for buck and if you want top-of-the-line with self-cleaning and more advanced features at a hefty price tag
Would u say s8 pro ultra is better than s7 plus? Roborock is offering trade in $900 for my s7plus
Depending on the age and if they accept the trade in while there is a sale on the s8 pro ultra (its $1000 US right now) that might be worth it
Fugging "error 13" is annoying me so much.
How many square feet can it do in each mode? I have 2500sq feet all on 1 floor, no real obstacles besides doors and furniture.
I have the S8 and easily can remove the mop and water tank.
The mop is removable on the pro ultra.
it seems they did away with the removable tank on the pro ultra due to the dock filling water for you.

Add some tea tree oil and rubbing alcohol to the solution
@@joshuafarwell9761 ok, I'll give it a try! Have you done that with your vacuums?
Virus on my computer
Can’t remove the mop and water tank in the robot?? All that gunk stained and stuck in the robot for months on end smh! PASSS
The mop is removable. It slides off so you can wash it further.

5:50 bloody hell. Rejected for that and for that _alone_ holy shit
How do you know Robo Rock is going to put out a new model in the first half of 2024? Just curious, thanks! Great review btw
Is there a point in getting the s8 pro if the s8 max is the same price?
onde vende no Brasil? ou é possível importar?
Which robo vac works best with pets ?
I would like to know also 😊
My experience was similar, I actually prefer the S7 MaxV, it’s been on sale quite a bit lately
But where? I can’t find it.

I have a Asian homie who can hack that camera and a vacuum and you wouldn’t even know it 😭

Anti-corpo proprietary tip: just look at the ingridients and buy the same one for cheap.

Hey. If I have a step 3 cm high, can the robot climb it?
Over an inch in height, I doubt it would be able to handle that. Im not sure if a ramp would help it or not.
Bad review. No useful distinguishers to help!
Dyson has come with the roboclean which will be a tough competition to Roborock s8
good job...thank you!!!
