Looping taunts will always be superior to non-looping (w/exception of laughing & taunt kills) change my mind
Also if they just add the proof of patience that will be enough for me to forge on in peace
I also like most taunts, but mom-looping ones (aside from a chosen few) tend to be very underwhelming due to their lack of in-game applicability. Wdy think?

For the mercenary melody, I think it should automatically sync with any other player nearby so you don't have to struggle to make them play together.
Either that, or it could be a group taunt that anyone can join. That would probably allow it to be an achievement too.
Kinda like how the instruments perfectly sync when you play them in Sea of Thieves
the achievement part will most likely never happen, but the group part would work out

Rodeside Picnic Is a reference on book of Arkady and Boris Strugatsky about the Stalker
It would be cool if people could join in and the picnic grows as more classes join him
I believe it's worth mentioning that Heavy's taunt Roadside Picnic is likely named after the Russian novel by the Strugatsky brothers, where aliens come to Earth, depositing a lot of exotic technology in exclusion zones and leaving as if just having a Roadside Picnic.
This also inspired the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series of games methinks.

honestly, i think the usefulness of taunts nowadays depends on how many stupid scenarios you can use them in. like, taunting before promptly killbinding, or taunting off a cliff

This is a reference to the comics where Pyro sees bunch bears as a cartoonish bear walking up to him and saying "Slow down youngster, you might trip and start a fire, and fire is nobody's friend"
and after that pyro goes on rampage with that same exact axe but the tip seems to be silver color rather than red like in the comic.
I feel like we should have environmental taunts; if you’re in the grass you make a picnic, if you’re in the sand you make a sandcastle, or if you’re in a building you can have unique dances

That would take too much coding work to figure out, and not really worth it.

@@2n974 What if there are no variables in place to figure out what type of ground you are on? So you would have to program that. Then you would have to make all the models and animations of the different variants. Then you would have to patch the numerous bugs this would cause. Yes I know a variable does exist for footstep noises depending on the ground, but it wouldn't work well as footstep noises are reused for vastly different areas (ie: dirt and sand having the same noise).
@@2n974 Not only that, what is a “basic ground check?” That is not a thing that exists in most games, and even if it did exist that terminology wouldn’t be used. Maybe you would check the texture of the ground or something but it isn’t “basic” and it wouldn’t be called a “ground check.”

Taunt for The Pyro where they just start crying at your death when?
For the mercenary melody, I don’t actually think it’s that good of a taunt, since without friends in a voice call, you aren’t gonna get all 9 mercs playing at the same time as each other. An idea I came up with for how to fix that problem is that if someone in the server is already doing the taunt, and another person starts doing it after them, the second person will fall into line with the first person. This way, it’s a lot easier to get all 9 mercs playing the same tune at once.
And animations are extremely choppy

Roadside picnic is actually a deepcut reference to a book written by the strugatsky brothers called "The Roadside Picnic" it inspired the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. movie, which then inspired the games.
and a branch of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games's dev team actually *QUIT* to go develop the metro 2033 games!
i'm not sure if the original metro 2033 was inspired by roadside picnic though.
I wouldn't say so, the Metro 2033 book was less about a world touched by the supernatural and more a world crippled by nuclear war, while supernatural elements have a presence.
That bomb cart taunt is amazing its really funny to drive that to the final checkpoint LMAO!
The smoulder standee is a reference to the tf2 comics when scout, soldier, and pyro went to Siberia to find heavy and they encountered the 3 bears and in pyro vision one of the bears is Smokey the bear
And said bear being smokey says "fire is no ones friend" and is hacked apart by Pyro with the axe from a crashed plane, which is where the axe comes from.

i like how the most scariest of the mercenaries in canon tf2 the pyro is shown as a child minded mercenary playing with all sorts of goofy things

I remember somebody under the og vid about the mercanry melody said that the medics would use their bass drum taunt while hoovys battle like in a ring of death or smthn.
Taunts, they are cool, But what we Really Need are New Cosmetics, like cool new Hats. For example, someone made a hat called The Blood - Soaked Brim for the spy, and this Hat goes with a Spy Suit called the Hell Swinger. It is a Set, but it looks Extremely Cool.
Also, the fact the hat is called the Blood-Soaked Brim helps to align itself with Demoman’s Nightbane Brim & Snipers Headhunter’s Brim.

Taunt idea: heavy would take a baby bottle filled with oil or something and would feed his minigun with it
For the Military march, he needs to have the soldier step off with his left foot first. With coordinating arm swings. Right foot and left arm are forward and left foot and right arm are backwards. Probably needs to fix the salute as he did preform eyes right correctly. Also his hands need to be cuffed when marching.

Nerfed the righteous bison to have -99% damage and -10000% projectile speed.
Oh and we also didn’t do anything about anti cheat because why would we.
