Put this on today. Without having a body lift, there is no way to get your hand or wrench in behind the frame to put the inside bolts on. Drilled one hole and realized after. So I have four bolts in it total, might weld a couple passes on it so I can have piece of mind when using the hitch
Wouldn’t it be better to have used nutcerts for the 2 extra locations?? The other ones have a nut and bolt so your strength would have been fine, u were just using the other location for stability.
My freind what size of lift kit did you have tires and body lift kit ? Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice rig i love the new fender you instal now thanks for the videos
How's the bumper holding up. I've seen This brand on Amazon for a great price. Just worried it might be really cheap quality. How's the bumper held up for you?
Thanks for the vid! Have you encountered any issues with the powder coating (flaking or premature rust)?? I’ve read so many mixed reviews on this subject with EAG bumpers. Would be great to hear first hand from someone like you who’s had one on for a long time. Thanks!!
I actually have not had any problems. Any scratches i get are sprayed with a little black rust protection paint. I do live in a very dry area, so, in the north where there is more snow, this bumper could be a little troublesome with rust.
Do you know what the 4 bolt pattern is for the mounting plates I have a 95 yj and my bumperettes on each side have 4 bolt holes already I wanted to know if it was just gonna line up or if I will need to drill?
The stock bumper is very thin steel and bends easily when you are crawling on rocks. This bumper is much thicker steel and will not bend under use, The Jeep can lean on it with no issues. This was more a bumper designed for function and not looks.
I just got mine and tried to install. Won’t work with a 32” tire spare. My factory bumper did. This bumper just created a headache for me and now I have to fab up a different tire carrier. Ridiculous.
No worries, I got mine on tonight however the stock bolts on the lower brackets are missing. I didn't have the same clearance at the top of the frame like you did on my 00 TJ.
Travis Compton I still think it won't be a problem. I know that the bumper is designed to be installed without dropping the tank. It will be a bit snug, but, should work.
well problem is on my jeep its already got a aftermarket bumper, with the 4 holes and 2 already drilled, ive tried every tool i got to get to the 2 inside nuts on the backside of bumper already got 2 19 mm sockets stuck, so i ordered a new gas pan and straps, as soon as they get here im dropping the tank and getting my sockets back and putting new bumper on, lol
but yea where your hand is going in at between the tub and crossmember the stock mount is the bottom one, the top one is a body lift, there is absolutly no room to get in there from the top like that and going in from the bottom theres a gutter type deal on the backside that makes it almost imposible without dropping tank, owell next week ill have my new parts

Thanks for the video, I’m having trouble taking off the bottom bolts that you took off at 0:39 , is there special procedure or did they just come off.
Mine just came off. Hit it with PB Blaster and soak it well. That should loosen it up.
What's shotty is the body lift, why didn't you make new mounts to raise the bumper up to line up with the body ?
I didn't want to create a pivot point if my bumper hits a rock or something. My build was much more about function than fashion.

Nelson Hernandez 35 inch tires, 3. 25 inch suspension lift, 1.25 inch body lift. Thanks!

joseph abraham I don't know the exact pattern, but, I believe that the bumper has mounting holes for both a tj and a yj.
Looks like the stock bumper. Why change it? Was this bumper somehow more functional? Other than the D-rings? Just wondering. Thanks.

Thank you for the video Ron, just bought this and it came today I'm eager to get it installed. Have you used this to tow anything yet?
I have not. It's rated for class III so as long as it's not to heavy, you should be good.
Thanks for a speedy reply! Gonna install mine tomorrow and subscribe to you!

What size is the lower bracket bolt?
That I don't know. It's the same as the stock bolt.

that body lift helps i have to drop my gas tank
I did not need to drop the tank.
Yea I watched the video. But ya got a body lift. I dont have the clearance you got between your cross member and tub
