I’ve made this 5 times now and it is one of the most delicious cakes I’ve made. My husband who hates sweets loves this. However, I made some small changes to the recipe that suits our taste. And for those who say it got burnt, try cooking it on simmer for 45-50 minutes (might take an hour depending on the intensity of your lowest setting) and keep checking it after the 30 minute mark. Once it becomes a little golden brown on the sides, it should be done.
    Changes:
    -1/2 cup sugar
    -1 tsp vanilla extract
Thank you for a wonderful recipe! This has become a family favourite!

Thank God I saw the comments.. used the above mentioned ingredients but kept it in cooker .. it came out so well.. filled the cooker with sand and preheated for 5 mins on medium to high flame then transferred the mix to the cake tray and kept it in cooker and baked for 55 mins in low flame...it was so yummy

      thank you for the hint/tip.
I need to get this right.
You use the sand first and then empty it before you take the cake tray into the cooker. correct?
So the roll play the sand? Please advise.

I made this cake and unexpectedly it came really well. Of course I improvised, I added 2 eggs and reduced milk. To protect your cake from getting burnt place a dosai/chappati tawa and then place the baking tawa on it. Simmer!!

    1. Chop 2 bananas and put in a blender.
    2. Add 1 cup sugar, 1/4 cup oil, 1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon powder. 1/2 Tsp Salt and 1/2 Cup Milk and then BLEND.
    3. Pour blended mix in a bowl, Then Sieve through 1.5 Cup of Flour in the bowl.
1 teaspoon Baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda.
    4. Add some Chocolate chips. Mix well everything in the bowl.
(I've made some changes after these steps in the recipe, as my cake had burned at the bottom when i simply followed this channels recipe)
    5. Coat the bottom and sides of the utensil you want to cook your cake in. Then Get a deep cooker or kadai Or Cooking pot Heat it till it's hot.
    6. Put a steamer/utensil stand in the kadai/cooker and pour a cup of water or just keep kadai/cooker empty.
    7. Then pour the cake mix into the cake mould/bread mould. Place the cake mould on top of the utensil Stand, inside the heated kadai/cooker (acting as the oven).
    8. Lastly cook for 45 - 50 mins in low flame. After 45 mind your yummy cake is ready to eat.

Ok so I tried out the recipe and it turned out yum!
Slight changes here and there. I used whole wheat aata instead of maida. Chopped milk compound cos I didn't have choco chips.
The critical thing is the baking time. Now I didn't a similar skillet so I used a deep tava and kept it on slow flame( since the depth of skillet and tava varied here) for 30 mins, checked once , then placed it on another tava for 5 additional mins and it was done. The bottom was brown and slightly charred , but that's ok! Rest everything was the same. Although it turned out a lil sweet than my liking, but again that's ok!
What I really don't understand is why would people actually lash out at someone this way!
    Errors r inevitable.
Meanwhile this was my first cake ever!
    Thanks a lot dear! ❤️
Hope u come up with more such easy recipes.

My opinion is to take a tawa keep it on the gas stove on low flame and let it preheat for 10min then put your cake tin on the tawa and cover it with a lid and let it bake for 45-50 min and then afterwards garnish it with chocolate. Your delicious banana cake is ready 😋

ok so i made this cake today, as advised by people in the comments, I placed the kadai on tawa and let it bake. So my cake did not burn. But I would say that the cake is not that fluffy. And maybe if it's my kadai fault, it takes definitely more than 1 hr for complete baking. Maybe pressure cooker is better option. I think the video is missing something and misleading also.

Try putting the the mixture in a aluminum pan, then in kadhai add salt layer. And place the aluminium pan inside and cover. This is how i bake cakes in kadhai.
It will take approx 50 min.
You should not put vessel directly on heat like she did in video

I would like to help people with simple trick here.
Put a thick bottom pan or kadhai on medium to low flame. Put a ring on it. Cover with a tight lid. Use the lid that comes with pan so it will not bend while cooking. Preheat this covered pan or kadhai for 5 min or till the pan gets hot. Then simply pour the batter in a cake tin or you may also use a thick steel vessel, greased with oil and flour. Put this on the ring, cover and cook for around 45 min. Keep checking the cake every 15-10-10 minutes. When you think the cake is done, switch off the flame, remove tin and remove the cake when it is completely cool. [Check the cake with knife or tooth pick once. If it comes out clear then the cake is done.]
Hope you would like my suggestions.
    Regards
