The only issue I see is that although you have the right to say whatever you want I think the lesson you're trying to teach them gets lost in your execution. You can educate them with respect. The rules that she read included the word "should " but not "must or shall" except the part that said "shall obtain necessary permits and releases" "Shall and must" are required, "should " is recommended but not required. When recording in public, no permits or releases are required or necessary. Therefore, even though you have none, you have all that are required.
It always blows my mind, every auditor I watch, they’re not the ones breaking the law, typically it’s other citizens or government officials breaking the law yet when cops get called, they have absolutely no issue busting the balls of auditors and threatening to arrest but let the ones go free that actually broke the law and treat them with more respect.

The rules that she read included the word "should " but not "must or shall" except the part that said "shall obtain necessary permits and releases"
"Shall and must" are required, "should " is recommended but not required.
When recording in public, no permits or releases are required or necessary. Therefore, even though you have none, you have all that are required.
It always blows my mind, every auditor I watch, they’re not the ones breaking the law, typically it’s other citizens or government officials breaking the law yet when cops get called, they have absolutely no issue busting the balls of auditors and threatening to arrest but let the ones go free that actually broke the law and treat them with more respect.

Guys, you have the right to record/photograph, BUT, she explained to you the policy and because you aren't listening to her just because of the short security guy, you aren't the media, you're not using the video for commercial purposes etc. amateur doesn't have anything to do with your followers, learn something about what you do and educate yourself and others...
