Really loving these. You pay attention to everything, you never miss any of the iconic moments -- of which there are zillions -- and your reactions are obviously sincere. (Some people mindlessly coo & gurgle every 5 seconds, and it's...unpleasant). The show is extremely dialog-dense, so it's important to absorb every word. FYI the show's screenwriter, Alice Oseman, is also the author & illustrator of the graphic novels on which the show is based, so even though there are some differences (ex: Imogen isn't in the books) the script is very faithful to the source. And as you've seen, the show often _seems_ like it'll include the 'standard' disappointments that define so many gay story plots, but in Heartstopper nearly all of those tropes don't lead where we're conditioned to expect. Fun fact: although Kit Connor (Nick) was already an accomplished actor when he was cast, Heartstopper was Joe Locke's (Charlie) acting debut. The plot does move pretty fast, and you're right that they didn't initially know they'd have a season 2. But, another fun fact: very soon after season 1 released, Netflix ordered seasons 2 _and 3._ S3 is in post-production, releasing later this year. Get your rest. A new HS reactor is like red meat to us fans, but if you need more time, we can wait...sort of!

The two lads are talking to Nick in the changing room are Sai and Christian, Nick's best friends the other friend is Otis and in season 2 you understand why Tao is so overprotective and i love Imogen and the party is in St. George Hotel, Harry says it to Nick when he invited him 😉
Christian, Sai, and Otis are on the rugby team. They are nice guys. (In one episode later in the season, Charlie even comments that they are nice.) BUT But they are not "Nick's best friends." Until Nick met Charlie, he had no close friends. (Except Nellie) He called his teammates (and their hangers-on) 'friends' BUT If you watch how and where the groups hang out in the morning before school, you'll see a different story: The rugby guys and hangers-on (which include Harry, Sai, Christian, Otis, Imogen and Ben (among others)) all sit on or stand around one end of a picnic bench before school. Nick always sits or leans against the OPPOSITE END of the picnic bench with HiS BACK TO THE OTHERS. I've seen him sit quietly on his end of the bench, thinking or looking at his phone --- BUT he only talks to the other guys when they come over to speak to him first, such as when Harry tells him to go to the birthday party; or when Imogen hears Harry tell Nick that he has to bring some other cool people to the birthday party, she comes over and asks to be invited as one of the 'cool' people.
A lot of reactors expect Charlie and Ben to kiss and Nick to walk in on them, because that is SUCH a common trope, and it would be easy to drag out a Charlie/Ben/Nick love triangle for drama. Something unique about Charlie though is that he *knows* what he wants and doesn’t compromise when something feels wrong to him. Even though he often feels anxious and wracked with self-doubt, he sticks to his guns. When he found out Ben had a girlfriend he decided they were done, regardless of what might or might not happen with Nick. ❤ I’ve never seen anyone expect Harry and his friends to beat Nick and Charlie up though, that would be horrible. 😭 It won’t all be smooth sailing ahead on Heartstopper, but you can trust that things will always work out eventually, and there won’t be anything too excessively violent or traumatic.
Ohhh! I kind of took it in a way of- because, in ep 2, it was insinuated in that conversation between Charlie and Ben in the flashback, that he was almost just "forced" to come out because of all the bullying, hence it may have been a negative experience for him (also I wasn't sure if people outside of Truham knew), that's why Nick mentioning it without Charlie present or without his permission made me wanna give him the side-eye 🤣
