    It’s important to realize your son is not a baby any longer, and encourage him to be independent and voice his needs. He is growing, and at school will be treated as a toddler. He will always be your baby!! For him to adjust easily in school, encourage some maturity

    Hi Marie, I'm a teacher here in Texas, and I will tell you this much. You honestly don't need to buy all of those supplies on your child's list. Get the important things, the essentials. Can you imagine in a class of 30, the amount of supplies one teacher receives? If you do buy everything, don't send them all at once because teachers would give your child's supplies away to others. I haven't taught middle school since 2014, and I still have a barrel full of supplies in my garage from then. I used to try to give kids their supplies to take back home at the end of the school yeaar, but they would refuse to take them home, so I always ended up with extra supplies every year. When I buy supplies for my son, who's now a sophomore in high school, I buy the basics, like a pack of notebook paper, a couple of folders, which he hardly ever uses, a binder and maybe pencils, but he still has leftover from last school year. Also, I would write his name on every piece of supply so that the teacher knows those are his... sounds selfish, but in this economy, you have to make every penny count. With those folders being personalized, the teacher cannot give my kid's folders to anyone else. I teach high school now, so I never ask kids to bring supplies except for a composition notebook for notes, grammar and journal responses, since I teach reading.
    I hope your baby has a successful school year with little stress

    They have winter break around thanksgiving in November or Christmas in December ❤

    • @adventuresofmarie
      @adventuresofmarie  Месяц назад

      Yeah but it's only a week, they give you the school calendar. What I was saying is Kenya they break for like 3/4 weeks it's different

    • @nadianadia4492
      @nadianadia4492 Месяц назад +1

      @@adventuresofmarie we have some breaks October day off for Columbus Day. November one week for thanksgiving break. December almost a month for winter break. January a day off for (MLK) holiday. February one week mid winter break. April one week for spring break. May day off for Memorial Day. June one week teacher conference Day. Thats depending on the time period of different States but that does count…

    • @adventuresofmarie
      @adventuresofmarie  Месяц назад

      @@nadianadia4492 yeah I can see these breaks from the school calendar year they gave us but the most our sons school is getting is like 14days for Christmas (20th - 6th) break the rest is a day for the federal holidays and a week. In Kenya they don't get a block of 3 months all at once like here during summer break. That's the difference I was trying to highlight. We have federal holidays in Kenya through out the year where kids get the break but the 3 months of holiday are not blocked but divided into 3 for the 3 terms 1st term, 2nd and 3rd that's how the calendar year is broken down

    School system
    School starts in August or September depending on the State.
    In Texas, starts in August. Some school districts have 1 week off in the Fall Break, 1 week off Thanksgiving Break, 2 weeks off Christmas & New Year’s, 1 week off Spring Break then Summer 10-12 weeks depending on the school district

    • @adventuresofmarie
      @adventuresofmarie  Месяц назад +1

      That's what we have in the school calendar they issued except Christmas is only 10 days. In Kenya 1st term 10-13 weeks with 3/4 weeks break, second term 10-13weeks also with 3/4 weeks break and third term give or take its usually shorter weeks but still 3/4 weeks break for Christmas. Kenya we don't have that block summer break.

    The hair is the glory of a woman, that height is not bad. You need then to bleach it. It will make you look nice

      Don't bleach your hair. Bleaching damages your hair, and it almost never recovers once you start doing it. It also thins it out. It's the biggest mistake you'll make as a woman of color.
