Vincent D'Onofrio is still killing in this role and its just great seeing Netflix Daredevil Kingpin again.
This is the first MCU project under the Marvel Spotlight banner, where it's gonna be focus on more grounded, character driven stories rather than the wider MCU continuity
So probably a bit more like moon knight.
I think I'd rather Born again go the same route then.

Echo has so many meanings.
Yes Maya is the character Echo.
She has “echo” powers where she repeats “abilities” gifted to her by her ancestors.
But Maya is also Wilson Fisk’s echo.
So hyped
They actually changed her powers for the show, but still a cool fact! Probably gonna lean into that last bit a lot more for this show
@@KnowYourMarvelNews OP’s comment is correct for the show. Back at D23 last year there was a teaser shown and one of the characters said “Our ancestors were powerful. Their strength echoes through you.”

Also idk how deep you’re in in MCU news/rumors/scoops but something that seems to add up is that Maya has magical tattoos and each time Maya rediscovers her past, she gains a new power. So that’s something different.

She's always been a dope character since her debut (another Brian Michael Bendis creation that's found fame). If you had told me 6 years ago that she would get a spinoff that was more or less Daredevil season 3.5 I wouldn't have believed you...
This series is gonna be fire. Seeing Alaqua Cox and Vincent D’onofrio is gonna be the best highlights of the entire series.

If u read what it said at the end of the trailer, it said this show will be TV-MA. I’m so hype and am retroactively even more hyped for Daredevil BA.
I can’t explain my excitement for this show. Very excited to see the continuation of Echo’s story along with Kingpin and Daredevil
The fact that this series is TV-MA, got Daredevil in this joint, and Punisher in the Daredevil disney+ series goes to show me that this is the blueprint for other MCU TV-MA shows. Day Mutherfuckin' One!

I got to love Echo by reading her introduction in Daredevil comics. She is my favorite of Matt Murdock's many girlfriends. She was the original Ronin who Hawkeye took the mantle over from. Not sure if she's gotten her own comics run yet, but the character has... let's say grown in power in recent years. Maya even has connections to Captain Marvel, Moon Knight, the Avengers, and the X-Men, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if this show takes the path of making her a mutant like they did with Ms. Marvel.
I didn't expect this level of violence at all. The trailer is amazing and I'm way interested in her character now. The visuals are crazy. The cultural aspects and having us immersed in her world...spectacular!
Looks more like "Kingpin" series. But I'm interested in Echo's story.

I didn't expect it to be brutal either. But I'm glad it is. It needs to be. With Kingpin's rage and Echo's... This is going to be great! And yes, the trailer is a masterpiece. The muting of sound and beating from her perspective was beautifully done!
I also enjoyed the image of his larger physique next to her little child frame. That was 🤌

yeah i don't get what everybody else is watching getting some inside knowledge that it was a bad production or that marvel is all garbage just because everything isn't endgame. not every show is gonna be hype or needs to be.
a). that dang vendor deserved it. i said what i said. b). i have legit respect for Echo from her intro in Hawkeye, i wait to see the full series. loving it. c). now that Marvel Spotlight is meant to be a new division of sorts, i'm hoping for more of this - Luke Cage, more Jessica Jones, Daughters of the Dragon et al.
The poster for this show is pure art! Maryon Dyre, the showrunner and head writer of Echo, is one of the BCS writers. She wrote the scene where Jimmy tells a crazy story about a man sitting in a pie to two cops to justify the IT man with glasses 😂😂.

Vincent D'Onofrio scares the living shit out of me as Kingpin. But at the same time he is so captivating in the role.
For some reason I felt “Banshee” vibes with the camerawork, indigenous peoples and intensity. “Yo yo yo yo yo yo” 🤛🏾 🤜🏾 😂. He hit that ice cream man so hard he got his own Dora Milaje sound.
That Kingpin beatdown reminded me of The Batman trailer (0 0)

The thing about The Kingpin in the comics is they revealed that he has more solid muscle than fat and that is why he's strong a f*ck. I think the Kingpin is in the same strength area as Captain America and the Red Skull at Peak Human (lifting double your own weight to 800 lbs.) or maybe stronger at Enhanced Human (800 lbs. to 2 tons).
I was in wait and see mode on the Echo series because I knew nothing about her character until I saw her in the Hawkeye series. After what I just saw I'm all in and can't wait until January. I wonder if this show is going to tie into the new Daredevil series somehow. It'd be awesome to see a cameo of Matt Murdock or the Daredevil in the last episode.

While I think Kingpin was toned down in Hawkeye, he still was Kingpin. His mere presence demanded respect. He swats an arrow like it's no big deal and treated Kate like a bug. He was only defeated when Kate used all the trick arrows.
Looks great - hope they don't ruin it by changing her powers...

My only concern is the show not transitioning from the trailer. We ALL have experienced shows/movies with banger trailers but then the actual shit turned out ass. So yes I'm still going in with my guard on
This is probably going to be one I skip, because the trailer just seems too weird and overly gritty. I personally prefer the humor and lightheartedness of She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel that kept me hooked. Overly serious things I can't pay attention to as much and I just like when things are more fun. That's why I'm one of the few people who prefer the Schumacher Batman movies to Christopher Nolan, to which I fell asleep and don't remember anything about...😅
