To the people who liked TLOU2 and hating on M Dogg, You have to understand that it's his opinion And not everyone is going to like the game. Just because someone doesn't like what you like doesn't mean you have the right to hate on them and call them haters. Especially when you're not even trying to hear why he doesn't like it.
It's because most people who don't like it only hate it because something happens to someone and then you play as someone else...something a little kid would whine about and not a real adult...and it goes both ways...IGN gave it a 10 I think and people said they were paid off, when someone who knew the guy who reviewed the game stated that that guy played that game 5 times in a row because he loved it...every time a critic likes something people don't like they are paid off and that's just an excuse from the dumb fans.
TLOU2 fans are some of the most toxic fans in gaming history. If you don't believe me, check the comment section of people who like the game vs people who don't like it. You'll notice that RUclipsrs who like it don't have people who hate it coming at them and shaming them for liking it. On the other hand, the RUclipsrs who don't like the game get all kinds of condescending and shaming comments from tlou2 stans for not being a stan like they are.
Could not disagree with you more. I allowed the hate online to Keep me from playing it till last year. Now it’s my favorite game of all time and I have played it like 5 times.
Heavy agree with you. I played the first game years ago but didn't play the second game until after season 1 of the show and played TLOU2 5 times as well since then because it was so good, one of the few platinum trophies I got on PSN. I literally beat it the first time and started NG+ immediately after.
I didn't played it for like 2 years exactly cus all the hate, but when I played it, DAAAMN!!! It became my favorite game EVER! I understand why they took the decisions that they made, so yeah, I consider that TLOU 2 is so underrated just for the hate.
Also I understand taking a friends word on when something might be bad especially when theres a share of similar taste, but acting like the entire fan base hated part2 is unfair
and not to mention it’s unique, I can’t think of any other game that forces you to witness a brutal death of a beloved main character then makes you play HOURS as the character the game makes you hate- it’s all about showing perspective
And it makes you see it from her perspective. What he did was destroy her whole world and maybe the world at large. It's also a necessary part of the hero's journey.
Until the 3rd game comes out and a child of a guy Abby killed comes after her to show you how that guy she killed hurt this little girl and how the little girl is right to take revenge too. Then she doesn’t Kill Abby because she learns about the cycle of hate and revenge and goes back home to discover her whole family and or friends or whoever left her because she want to get revenge. Masterpiece
I was upset with the game for the same reason but then my daughter played it recently and it had me feeling different from the first time. I guess knowing what was going to happen, I actually felt empathy by the end. I think you should play the game again. The story is actually amazing.
It is cannon from ND themselves that the cure from Ellie would have saved the world and kill the infection, and that is why there is such weight to Joel's decision, but that doesn't make it any easier.
There's a reason why 99% of the comments are disagreeing with him. The Last of Us Part 2 was loved by most people, it was a couple of nobodies and babies that hated it, everyone else knows it is one of the best, most complex, and most devastating stories in any media. It's the most-warded narrative-driven game of all time, surpassing even the first one, the game won best writing and narrative from critics who actually have screenwriting knowledge. TLOU2 basically surpassed the first game in every aspect, except storytelling, as the first game was more linear, so it has better pacing and writing, which is just as good in both games, but everything else is better in Part 2. I won’t be surprised when the show comes out and gets nominated once again, proving further that it is one of the best stories.
@captain84148 you chill out. Trying to negate someone's accurate take on th3 game by distilling it down to being emotional. You stop being emotional over someone else's experience.
Part 2 made me feel things I had never felt before with a videogame. I’ve never wanted a game to end so much but at the same time I was feeling so many emotions that when the credits rolled it left me speechless and it’s an experience I know I will probably never feel again and I do not dare playing through that hell again. I loved that game
I played both Part 1 and 2 like them both equally. For me both games are masterpieces. There is many other that I know off who feels exactly like I do about both games.
@@dineshhashan4980it ain’t and your letting your feelings dictate your judgement just like most people. It’s a good game and it succeeded at what the storytellers wanted to achieve.
I say don't watch it, I can already see its going to stress M-Dog out and make him age like 30 years🤣 Personally I'm going to enjoy the show cuz I luv Part 2. I perfectly understand why players and fans hate it. HBO may go into more depth but sorry that's just gonna piss you off more. It was hilarious how blasphemous it was talking about the game and the awards it got. The most controversial game in history loved by millions and HATED by millions.
I saw someone saying that the second game is about the question "Can you feel empathy with someone you hate ?" The whole story of part 2 is about that question, the way and order they delivered it in the game is clearly on purpose to push you to confront that question, they said. And I agree strongly. They might alter the timeline slightly, but they won't change it in any major way. If they did, it would miss the whole point that made part II so strong.
1st game perfection. 2nd game perfection! 3rd game is gonna be PERFECTION! the story has so many emotions. That's what makes it a Beautiful/Amazing game ❤️
I understand, but there is nothing wrong with the game, it’s a continuation of the story…people just caught up in their feelings, which is understandable…
Everyone definitely has their opinions about this game. Me personally I loved it , definitely in my top 5 games of all time. But your commentary leaves out the fact the game also won Game of the year and swept critic awards that year. Lot of the hate definitely wasn't warranted.
I disagree. A lot of people hate Abby even after beating the game because who in their right mind wants to shoot at and try to kill Abby especially when you can like choose who’s side of the story you want to discover or see. Like playing a dude shooting at Joel and your job is to kill him because you are upset he killed your best buddy or something. But mostly it was how the story was told. The negative criticism that isn’t yelling at the people who like the game should be considered and treated with respect. And so should yours
There’s a few issues with the discussion of this. #1. They will follow the game because it was an amazing story that millions loved. A story that helped the game break records, a story that clearly Craig Mazin also at the very least appreciated. They’ll probably change the structure to better adapt it to TV form but that’s about it, don’t hold out hope. #2. The whole world doesn’t hate the game, despite what you guys believe. It’s 50/50 split in the middle, give or take a few.
I don’t think it’s even a 50/50 split. I think it’s pretty heavily considered to be a great game, there’s just an extremely vocal community of crybaby’s still screeching about how the game hurt their feelings.
Shame they didn’t stay accurate to the first game in season 1. They didn’t need to change anything and the emotional moments the show and game share was better done in the game. Show rushed those parts.
Give the second game another chance and see it as it's own thing. It's actually an interesting take on "The Last Of Us" the humans that are left and not just Joel and Ellie. The revenge cycle and the grey world. The military and the scars.. all with amazing gameplay mechanics.
@@alvinmaina5508 I'm sure you think that after the several retcons they've done over every remaster and remake . There was and is no cure. Abby's dad was going to non-censually murder a child.

I am sure Elden Ring beats TLOU2 as the most-warded game of all time, but narrative-driven game it is TLOU2. The game is a masterpiece, most people loved it. If you watch reactions to this teaser from those that have played it, most say they loved it, and the same with RUclipsrs that did play-through most loved it. I saw an interview with Mazin and Druckmann where they said "We hate M-Dogg and we're working hard to make him even angrier with the show." I thought they were being harsh, but you have to respect the creators.
I've only ever watched the cutscene "movies" for both games & loved them both. Looking forward to it & hope it can maybe work better for you in a TV medium. Keep it up!
Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I respect that, but, for me, TLOU 2 is a masterpiece. I've never had a game put my through the emotional roller coaster like this game did. I do hope the show does a little better job with the structure of the story though. That is my 1 criticism for the game. But I am glad to hear the you'll give the show a chance. I know that many won't, well those who know, know why. Also, imo, if was a 50/50 split. Is just that those who hated the game drowned out those who loved it.
@@firstnamelastname9141 Hey buddy, let me give you the harsh reality of the world. Whether it's a video game or a tv show, 99% of things in media nowadays is infested with "woke" shit. It's just the way things are now. You don't have to agree with the ideology, and hell, I don't agree with it myself. However, if you let that be something that will prevent you from enjoying said game/show, then let me tell you something. You will have a hard time enjoying most things. Sometimes you've gotta learn to set aside your political biases and just enjoy the bigger picture.
As someone who played both games multiple times; I'm only worried that people will turn on this like Game of Thrones because I heard that the events of the second game will span multiple seasons and the events of Santa Barbara will be in a season 4. I'm still watching regardless though.
There's a line in the first game between Joel and Ellie that I think is such a core element to the second game. It's the moment in the bedroom after Ellie finds out Joel is having Tommy take her the rest of the way. In that scene she says "I've lost people too Joel." And the line that I think is core to TLOU2 is Joel's response of "You have no idea what loss is." For me, TLOU2 was about putting us in Ellie's shoes as those haunting words of Joel ring true.
The people who make the show also do the games. HBO and Naughtydog have been collaborating on the show. Neil Druckmann is heavily involved in its production. The changes made for the show are because they just don’t want a beat for beat copy of the game. Part 2’s story will no doubt have changes, as it’s already been confirmed to have multiple seasons, but it will tell the same narrative as the game.
I watch yall because yall aren’t haters and logical when yall watch things and I know the second game was brutal but come on what would yall have done if yall were in Abby’s shoes.i kept a open mind when I played it and enjoyed the game for what it was.
Given the world they're in she was completely justified, just how everyone else was justified with their fucked up actions. That's the whole point in underlining Ellie's immunity, Joel's decision, and what it would've meant for the world. Marlene even warned him that Ellie will grow up in a broken world that they could've changed, and yeah, turns out that it broke her, just like many others. Also, Abby is f*cking hilarious. I'm a bit sad we don't see her muscle mommy self in the show but I'm still looking forward to it.
TLOU 2 is one of the best games ever made. There's a 4 year gap between the first and second game. This season will most likely fill out that 4 year gap and build up to it. They changed things up for the first season. Some things were actually better.
@@AVelly-yea that was my one criticism also cuz they could’ve waited at least until the middle of the game. However I understand the decision that was made given the circumstances.
From a continuity stand point it makes no sense, you get extreme character regression from joel, along with plain ignorance which was simply done to push the plot.
There is a bread crumb trail leading to the outcome that is Part 2. We saw it coming before the game came out, the only reason people don’t like this game is because Abby’s golf game is fantastic.
People who hate Part II just don't understand the reasoning for the way the story went. Like Troy Baker said to people who said they didn't like the story, “ok, but tell me a better story than the one we got” and surprise, surprise…they can't.
TLOU2 is a masterpiece but also intensely emotionally draining and the ending is absolutely heartbreaking but I’m still looking forward to this journey and the reaction to it
If you remember correctly, the first teaser that came out for the first season was also (more or less) a 1:1 to the game. Then, it turned out they added/changed things as we watched it. So don’t lose faith yet

Completely respect people not liking the game. For me though it's a 10 out of 10. So just be aware that if you think "most people" hated part 2, it's just not true, that's an algorithm showing you people who agree with you. You are 100% supposed the be emotional about a lot of the things that happen in the story but the point is that you see both sides. I hope yall will enjoy the show in ang regards though, love your reactions and especially looking forward to Legend of Vox Machina season 3

yep most of the scenes you can pin point where they are in the game. the only one i cant place is when Ellie is screaming it can be three different spots. 1. she wakes up from a nightmare in the theater . 2.the last part of the theater fight or Dearing the golf game
The game did not fuck up. The game was brutal and hard to handle and hurt my heart but it was brilliant. They are NOT going to change the story, no way in hell, HBO doesn't stray away from hard truths. I cannot WAIT for this season and season 3. It's going to break all of us and I cannot wait.
People forget all the messed up things Joel and Ellie did in the first game, they were the protagonists but they were not good people. They showed us the other side of the story of someone (Abby) that was affected by Joel's actions, we as the gamers might have hated it but it was the natural outcome of all the things they've done.
To me, Joel was a terrible person and throughout the game and the aftermath of the game he made Ellie, who was a decent person in the beginning, into a worse person.
@@senhowler It's surprising that it didn't happen sooner. Dude went on two decades being a complete pos for most of its time, just like all the other thugs in this world. I like his character, but that should not blind someone from acknowledging that he really had it coming - especially after the hospital.
This argument is always laughably bad and stupid to me because literally everyone knows that what Joel did was wrong, we are shown multiple times that Joel is not a great person in any sense of the word, despite that however the writing surrounding Joel makes him a likeable character for the audience/players whereas Abby.....just kinda sucks, Not just because she killed Joel but because her writing is just bad
LoU2 was a brutal emotional rollercoaster and for that, one of the best games I've ever played. I think for the show, they'll just have to make what they tried to convey in the game easier to understand. Cause the haters simplifying the plot to "revenge bad" or "that was a mistake" is a disservice imo. But also, it took me some time to reach this conclusion lol
Without spoiling anything… I remember watching MDogg’s play through of part 2 and he enjoyed some parts. His reaction of the game had me cracking up too 😂. It’s not that the game was bad… It was just playing as certain characters for a long period of time is what pissed him off the most. There were certain story decisions that he didn’t like also, but I think the main part was the game made you play as other characters that he didn’t like. I felt the same way about the game. Half the game I liked and the other half I was annoyed.

The way they did that was lazy writing cmon its fine to like a game but please be honest and critisize it for the things it also did wrong
@reynaldolorenzo8409 idk where you pulled 99% from, straight out of your ass i would guess. Because this game was one of the most controversial sequels ever released splitting the audience down the middle between folk who accepted the slop with flecks of gold in it, and those who were pissed at how the story was put together due to the flecks of gold and how easily they coulda cleaned the slop off and made a masterpiece of a sequel. Critics felt they needed to like it because sadly a portion of the haters were deranged far right lunatics who couldn't give you a single reason why they didn't like it other then "ABBY BEEFY. AND LEV IS TRANS MAN" so allot of them sang it's praises to avoid being labeled a cringe far right lunatic. But plenty of people absolutely hated the overall story and for good reason, it's a mess.
@@Jheezy123 It wasn't lazy writing, but you aren't smart enough. They had no idea who they were until Tommy opened his mouth, he is the one that put them in that situation. That's when Abby finally found him and took care of him.

And nah, you are using excuses to your benefit as to why the critics liked the game as if you know them, lol. So stupid. Let me educate you on how the critics work. Just like movies, there's different categories for awards, performances, writing, etc., so they hire critics with filmmaking and from the industry to analyze, nominate the games, then vote for which one they think is the objectively better one in that category. That's how it works, as I am a filmmaker and screenwriter student with inside knowledge of the industry, not that dumb excuses you're using to fit your agenda. Part 2 was not universally hated. The audience was just split. You either loved it or hated it. If they changed it then the people who loved part 2 would be mad and if they dont then the people who hated part 2 will be mad. So theres no reason to write a whole new story
It most definitely wasn’t split. The hate for the game was just incredibly loud but considering how awarded it was at the time and how well it sold it definitely wasn’t even split.
Haters are always loud, and their noise makes them seem like a larger group than they actually are. I am more angry at the people who ruined the game for the fans before it was even out than I am at any story beats in the game. I hope Struggle Soldier plays the game for himself and doesn't let M-Dogg ruin it for him like so many other crybaby gamers have done for others.
@johkerx9107 I don't mean 50/50 split. There were just 2 camps predominantly of either loving it or hating it. Very few people were just in the middle it seemed
Bro I could see it in your face talking bout the anger is still there😂😂 it still makes me mad too haha. Now That Part aside(we all know which one) I thought the story was solid.

As a huge TLOU fan who absolutely loves both games Part 1 and 2 both masterpieces it's my favorite game series of all time. I actually like the 2nd game even more then the first. I promise no spoilers. But the story of the 2nd game is so beautiful, complex, deeply thought provoking, it's really a human study on how trauma, pain, obsession, can shape us, and how one's decisions can have massive ripple effects especially living in such a brutal post-apocalyptic world. This trailer I got goosebumps all over it looks so wonderful I recognize so much from the 2nd game. Also Abby became one of my favorite characters, and Kaitlyn Dever is a great actress I look forward to seeing her portrayal. I simply cannot wait!!!
I never argued the quality of the story, my issue was just that I was hyped for a more basic revenge story. I participated in the hate bandwagon and now I look back and cringe, particularly at the transphobia. I know it’s fun to take stories seriously and get immersed but not that damn seriously.
I can't speak much for the second game honestly, because they hit me so hard so soon into the beginning of the game- ya'll know what I'm talking about -that I didn't get past much of that afterwards... so I haven't been able to finish the game. I do wanna finish it before season 2 comes out, but I just don't know if I'm emotionally ready right now LOL.
There is a difference. In this one he's talking to a therapist and that didn't happen in the game. That means that events will not happen in such a sudden early way is my guess. I think they may be wise enough to let things breathe a bit more so we get a different experience out of essentially the same story.. Also even if the same events happen if they change the order it will make an enormous difference. They could have events in the game one for one but as long as the events don't happen in the same one for one order as they had it in the game it could will make all the difference in the world and completely redeem what the story was really trying to say and make it a masterpiece or it could be a complete crash and burn of what was a phenomenal first season. So just seeing the therapist there which adds an ability to remove ourselves and give some added context gives me a little bit of hope that I might allow myself to be cautiously optimistic but I'm still pretty worried
I understand why some would be uneasy about season 2 of the show (given the content of Part II). However the showrunners softly confirmed a season 3, that's supposedly bigger than season 2 and continues Part II's story. For me that only means 2 things, their going to follow the order game with some added original bits like season 1, or they'll slow certain elements of the story down for the sake of giving more context and motivation before heading towards THAT point in the story (the second encounter is all I'm gonna say for those who've seen Part II). Either way, I'm curious moreso than excited because a lot can go right, but alot can go wrong. Guess we'll see in 2025.

I agree, it was a very interesting experience to play with someone you hate. But at the end I grew more attached to her.
and not to mention it’s unique, I can’t think of any other game that forces you to witness a brutal death of a beloved main character then makes you play HOURS as the character the game makes you hate- it’s all about showing perspective
Masterpiece
the thing for me, i dont hate the character, i never did, because i could see why the character did that.

Both games were amazing for different reasons. My soul is NOT ready for this season. STOKED.
If you have to look at the game as it's own thing then that's bad writing lol

There's a line in the first game between Joel and Ellie that I think is such a core element to the second game. It's the moment in the bedroom after Ellie finds out Joel is having Tommy take her the rest of the way. In that scene she says "I've lost people too Joel." And the line that I think is core to TLOU2 is Joel's response of "You have no idea what loss is." For me, TLOU2 was about putting us in Ellie's shoes as those haunting words of Joel ring true.

you are actually fucking braindead if you think like this lmao.
@@Jheezy123 It wasn't lazy writing, but you aren't smart enough. They had no idea who they were until Tommy opened his mouth, he is the one that put them in that situation. That's when Abby finally found him and took care of him.
@@ProperlyGaming The 99% is from the comments on this video; smartass, everyone is disagreeing with him. And the game may be controversial as the video game audience is brain dead, and most are dumbasses that aren't smart enough for a complex story like this. That's why in the TV show, which usually movies and TV shows have smarter audiences than video game audiences, they didn't mind episode 3 or episode 7. You and others may not like the game or story, whatever; it doesn't change the fact that the game is the most awarded narrative-driven game of all time and that it won in narrative and writing, which is one of the best written, devastating, and complex stories in any media, and the TV show will get nominated too, proving once more how good the story is. While y'all keep crying, we keep enjoying one of the best stories in videogame history. 😆🤷🏽♂️
TLOU part 2 is amazing. These are facts. :>
It’s literally the TLJ of video games it absolutely still has a bad stigma attached to it
@johkerx9107 I don't mean 50/50 split. There were just 2 camps predominantly of either loving it or hating it. Very few people were just in the middle it seemed
Bro I could see it in your face talking bout the anger is still there😂😂 it still makes me mad too haha. Now That Part aside(we all know which one) I thought the story was solid.
Struggle Soldier don’t let this dude M-Dogg manipulate you to hating the second part. His reasons for hating the game is super invalid the story is 👌🏼. M-Dogg just butthurt with his past golfing experience that’s all😂😂.
Who are you to tell someone that their reasons for not liking OR liking something is invalid? How close minded and self centered is that?
@@TehIdiotOne Because I said so
As a huge TLOU fan who absolutely loves both games Part 1 and 2 both masterpieces it's my favorite game series of all time.
Do a movie reaction to Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil, I promise you'll really enjoy this one
Drew gon be down Rittenhouse Square slapping random people to a 8 Bit soundtrack
Trippin part two was amazing
