I KNEW it! I knew that “Goodnight Moon” was turning the frogs gay! Every time I read it to my three year old son as he goes to sleep, I keep thinking “somewhere, somehow, a frog just turned gay”.
Those plastic instruments have their advantages, but good tone and tuning ain't one of them. I'd bet he played something brass at one point, and had enough chops left to sound ridiculous enough to be believable for a few seconds.

No joke, the trumpet is a shockingly difficult instrument to pick up. He might not be pro, but the guy can definitely play.
