Agree that taking some time to consider what you already have in the hanger is helpful in making choices on what to purchase. I break down my decisions based on several categories. Then I only look at 2 planes per category. Single engine small, single engine large, twin engine small, twin engine large, bizjet, regional jet, airliners, and finally misc. With these 8 categories, and having two planes per category, I have 16 different aircraft to study and fly. So when considering a new plane, it would have to be one that I am looking to fill one of these slots, or good enough to replace one already in my lineup.
You’ve got a good point ! I’ve overspent in the past, get sucked into a hype and just keep buying all these “must haves” and “study level” aircrafts. These days, first of all, wait for the reviews to appear, only consider 4 stars or more. Now I only buy only if something completely new type, like a glider :)
Personally, for those that haven’t splurged on some of the amazing payware planes, I feel they are missing out on enjoying another level of the sim. My two favorites are the fenix a320 and the kodiak 100. Awesome planes for sure
Good video thank you.. I bought a jet from the marketplace, and then MS decided to release a free one a couple of weeks later. I was annoyed. Still deciding whether to buy the 146 Professional or not. It's a lot of money for an aircraft where I don't tend to go on MSFS much any more. Maybe if it goes on Sale, then I may decide to buy it.
I bought the Got Friends Edgeley Optica, knowing full well that I already have the same plane from ORBX, but the ORBX one is so bad, that it was money well spent. The one thing that catches me out sometimes is buying a military aircraft on the MS Store, only realising afterwards that it cannot carry or show any weapons due to stupid Microsoft woke policy
@@tsw11385 Yes, I rate it 5/5, but please keep in mind that I like small aircraft, especially vintage and quirky ones, and this one is very unusual. But in addition the GotFriends aircraft is very well made, with lots of attention to detail and small little surprises like a cat and dog companion (which you can toggle on or off). The sounds are great and it flies very well. But most of all the view out of that bulbous cockpit is fantastic. You really feel like you're piloting something different, especially in VR. So yeah, I would definitely recommend it.
@@tb100 Awesome mate thank you I love the 152 and bought the Spitfire and Newport 17 so I think I will like that plane thanks for the review man nice one
Aside from the fact that MFS is an excellent simulation, the game still has a lot of room for improvement, but Microsoft only cares about money (they don't even fix the bugs from last year) They also should have added cockpit-share in multiplayer.....
You do realize that Microsoft has already put more effort into this version than they did into FSX right? They did 3 service packs and the Acceleration expansion, and that was it. They've already shown they are in this for the long haul, and duh, of course they are in it to make money. What kind comment is that? They realize they could have had a cash cow if they had kept updating FSX instead of going to MS Flight. Now, Flight, that was a cash grab, and that is why it failed, and that is why MS is approaching this new MSFS very differently by making it a living program. It literally gets better with every update and there is ALWAYS room for improvement. "There's always a way to do it better; find it." - Thomas Edison
@@ImpendingJoker I guess one of us is playing the wrong MFS! What Microsoft has done only using the satellite images from Google Maps or (something like that), enhanced by a graphic engine! Most plans such as B747 and A320 neo are a total joke! the graphic optimization can be better; people are still experiencing crashing during the game (Something old from FSX) Also, you forgot to mention the cockpit share! There is more to say…. We have been waiting for this game for years, and yet it isn’t close to what we had been wanting! @@sahandmousavi Alright, move along to X Plane then. It’s funny you complain about the default planes when free mods exist that vastly improve them. Or perhaps you are an Xbox user
I'm just waiting for someone to make a Martin JRM Mars (Hawaii Mars model) that's console compatible. My Grumman Goose will keep me content in the mean time.
@@xCapNunes I don't think my recommendations are worth much but I very much enjoy the Grumman Goose and will happily say that I got my moneys worth with it (even at full price). Given you're a fan of older planes and radials, I think you'd likely appreciate it too. The big radials sound great, the model itself looks and feels very high quality, it comes with a ski variant, and also offers plenty of quirks onboard that make it a lot of fun to fly and explore with. As a disclaimer tho, I'll also point out that I'm from British Columbia so it very much caters to the regions I like to fly around and explore, hopping from island to island, inlet to inlet, and lake to lake. It certainly helps with making the Goose that much more appealing to myself 😅
Biggest issue with pay planes (MS and otherwise) is that on multiplayer, no-one else can see what you spent money on. Not even the pay liveries on stock planes...

Used this advice for the HondaJet, and I must say, thank you!

They should separate the liveries from the aircraft. It's confusing. There should be a separate category for it.. and maybe add-ons too.

Not if you have model matching set up right
Where can I find a list of payware aircraft for Xbox msfs.
