I know what you mean, but I don't think you can really say anymore that LDV/GWM aren't mainstream models. They're absolutely everywhere, and they've been in the country for quite a while now and very much so have the reliability of a Mitsubishi. My family haven't had any issues with our Jolion, H6 and G10 Executive.
IV got a 2022 max with 40k KMs on it so far can't complain it does nothing special but it does everything fine aswell...for the price U can't go wrong really
Thanks Matt. Great review. All of the cheaper utes seem to be a case of compromise, and choosing one over the other can be as much about what you’re willing to put up with, or not have, as a result of choosing that ute. Features aside, the telling thing for the T60 will be the quality of the support, or lack thereof, which can really change overall ownership experience. Musso seems to be becoming the darling of the cheap ute segment, however you have to be willing and able to look at it every day 🤮. The Cannon X misses out on an extended tub version like the other two, but I think if they come out with the 2.4 diesel, and improve the way it manages the dpf/burn scenario, it will be an even more attractive contender. The Triton received consistent unflattering / disappointed reviews upon its release, so I’m not sure I’d consider it.
Actually got 1 of them LDV T60...and I do love them....All you'll have to do is taken care of it...service...ect....she'll be fine believe me...and for much less money will do everything you need
Nice one Matt. The biggest problem I see and hear from several older tradies is the problems with removing all the switch gear into the touch screen and the sensitive haptic keys basically comes down to the DT’s. As after a few bears every night followed by early starts is it can be almost impossible to interact with the screen as easily as using buttons and dials that are hardwired into the brain. As sometimes touchscreens don’t always provide a positive feedback. You could also add this to the lawyer who’s driving say the latest generation 8.5 in their BMW’s post a night on the drink.
Well said. That's one of the reasons I bought a new Subaru - buttons and dials for everything. Can adjust what I need while rolling along at 110 without looking away from the road .
I drove this but I felt like I was enclosed in a cocoon, yea the cannon and muzzo was better and more open ..The info dash was a pain and that gear shift on the right hand side like a wiper stalk ..I bought the cannon and got it home yesterday and got the xsr
Great review, Matt. This seems like a good ute, but I hate the crappy black plastic on the tub and also the tail gate. Of the Chinese Ute's, I like the GWM Cannon best. The Triton has lost its main advantage as the price is too high now.
How is having the headlight on/off functions buried within menus on the touchscreen even legal? Imagine having your wipers buried in submenus when all you want to do is wash the screen? It's a basic safety function that should be immediately accessible! ADR's aren't what they used to be...
Interesting. I'm curious why we're seeing hardly any reviews of the Cannon Alpha diesel version. All seems to be about the petrol hybrid. And is that new diesel going into the non Alpha Cannon too?
From what I have seen from China they have the Standard Cannon with the new 2.4l Diesel in it now think it was released a few months ago, it also got an interior update (nearly identical to the tank300 interior) and a slight facelift. If they keep it same price could be a massive upgrade for the company
You’re right about the alpha reviews. The reviewers got excited about it being the first hybrid ute, hence it has been the focus. However most comparison is better achieved by them looking at the diesel version. If that bigger diesel gets thrown into the X, it will be a compelling proposition, and probably a better buy than the T60.
I’ve driven the 2.4 Cannon Alpha diesel, it went well, but a very firm ride, that put me right off, and the bloody safety systems wouldn’t shut up, a nice voice telling me to keep my eyes on the road, even when pulling out of an intersection, still, it can be turned off.
The touchscreen should have bottoms to control Its functions when driving. On the other hand, this pickup is too expensive compared to other China's pickups.
JLC Polaris. Blancpain fifty fathoms. Glashutte original. All more expensive new and superior watches over a Rolex but all cheaper preowned. Really can't go wrong.
Hi everyone i am looking to buy one of this car is this a good option to buy i am not sure. because they are new and i have old car i dont wanna spend alot of money for a hilux which they are over 55k
My question is, during the transition period where I'm getting used to the indicators being on the other side, what happens if I accidentally flick the gear shifter while I'm driving down the road to change lanes? Am I suddenly going to throw the vehicle into reverse?
@@therightcar Good to know! My current lease is up next year so I'm on the look out. This was the one slight reservation I had about this vehicle. I'm relieved to know I'm not gonna go to turn a corner and end up leaving the gearbox in the intersection =)
Everything is getting to expensive, having these cheaper utes is what we need so some of us have the chance to buy a new car 40k is still a fair chunk of money
I have a 2024 t60 plus and indicating around corners it turns my music off, it's so annoying!!! and I can't figure out how to stop it doing that plz help!
What is the use of all these features...when half of them don't work. My friend has one of these LDV cars...and it looks and feels good..but then things keep breaking...and when half of the things don't work, and you take it to the workshop, then they don't have the parts..and keep you car for weeks, while the parts arive. it's a fancy piece of crap..
Greetings from QLD Cobas 🤠I'm pretty sure that tail gate will rust with that black plastic a guy told me it has over 50screws holding it on apart from that it looks well finished but I'm set in my ways I'll only buy a ute with a LandCruiser or Hilux badge 🤠👍👍🦘🐨 cheers ✌️🏁

I thing the rear of the musso may not be great but it looks super clean from the front

Agree with all of that.
Exactly why I got a cannon
I'd rather have a dial or buttons for the gear selector. and have my headlight controls on a stalk than a slow wireless charging pad
I wish the Chinese would make single cab utes
they do. I still own an old Great Wall single cab ute.
They do make them they just don’t sell them here. The T60 was offered in single cab here few years back.

Fuck ADR's. Australia's nanny rules is why all car manufacturers fucked off out of Australia.
Have 2022 model. Off road low range is excellent. Seems to lock torque converter for down hill slow going. Not a fan of electric hand brakes
Can you do a review with towing (up to 3T) to understand engine performance
Love a load in the back, mate 👊🏼
Im really wanting to know how these stack up against the new Cannon Alpha model, bang for buck wise atleast.

Triton or T60 Max Plus?
Musso
@@willross7121 not unless hell freezes over.😄
Triton

Did you look in the owner’s manual?
Ssangyong Musso for me Matt 🤔
Not a great infotainment system otherwise good.
@@allthegearnoideaoverlandagree, but I do think it’s f*ckin ugly from any angle other than the direct front profile.

Guys!! The front end of this Ute is a blatant copy of Hyundai Palisade. I am surprised nobody noticed & commented on this
Just bought a 2nd hand Ranger Wildtrak over a new "butget" ute. Right decision? Who knows, but i'm happy.
Looks like someone put the Mitsubishi outlander front grille on triton

Looks like the Triton...I thought the LEV was released way before the Triton meaning that it looks like a t60
Haha this refresh is certainly more Triton-like.
Why does a biturbo have lag?
Probably not sequential
For that price, with that warranty, it’s absolutely insane and you’d be absolutely stupid to buy any other brand.
It makes a BIG case for itself, that’s for sure.
Great review..👍👍👍
Utes are way too expensive for what they are.
Haha...you made it sound like the tail gate weighs 100kgs! Ya need to get in the Gym!
Hey don’t tease my puny biceps 😂
Palisade Ute lookalike
Yes.....
It got given the hyundai palisade treatment
Very similar front-end design.
None of the reviewers like the triton so im worried
I think the reviewers are disappointed that it didn’t match the expectations they had. Probably a bit like the Alpha.
Not interested until they do a V8, with real leather, and walnut grain trim.
YOU’RE NOT INTERESTED UNTIL…. NEVER?
Get a ssangyong folks
Worst thing about this cheap shit. Everything is touch. No switch gear. Doesn’t even have a headlight switch ffs.
Rather push a DAF diesel truck than hop in an LDV T60
No thanks 🤢🤮🤮🤮
Thomas Paul Thomas Margaret Gonzalez Ronald
I think I’ll stick to my 2017 Holden Colorado LTZ
Id rather support the south koreans with the Musso than the Chinese.
Go on then! They need the support
IF YOU BUY one of these YOU ARE INVESTING IN THE CHINESE MILITARY.
