“My heart feels so still, as I try to find the will to forget her somehow” this man is so underrated man. he was young he had so much more ahead of him.
I love how he changes it from "her" to "you" in the very last lines, just makes it all the more raw and intimate. That angry guitar riff at the middle of the song and then that powerful bridge... it's like a stab right through the heart. So fierce and so, so realistic. What an artist he was.
I do find the bridge and the transition back to the main Melody extremely Powerful and moving. From there the initial ballad turns into a desperate complaint. Fantastic song

ever since I discovered Grace 13 years ago, I've never gotten tired of it. it's my favorite album of all time, on a serious note. It's haunting, poetic, the arrangements are flawless, jeffs vocals is like god himself singing through him. It sucks that he died and were stuck with Justin Beiber...why??!! lol
No there are not.. I believe all mine are in my name are gone..I loved them for their lyrics, their vocals, and no jerry Cantrell did not write all the lyrics for AIC,he wrote some and mostly Co wrote them with Staley, Staley wrote some on his own and especially in his band MAD SEASON.he was given total control over lyrics bc they knew his feelings towards his AIC (friends ) not Mike Starr his best friend who they kicked out in 93 making Staley worse..anyway CONOR is a new vocalist from a young band called nothing but thieves NBT who's been compared to Buckley, Thome York, Muse..Anyway he caught me completely off guard bc I watched his acoustic versions first, and live concerts first. He's got passion and a complete variety of influences alot like some of Jeffs , one of course is Zeppelin, where he has a live version, outside singing immigrants song during an earthquake and at first he's nervous then he of course decided he's got to do this. Their new and blows it out of the water. He's got lots that are kinda sad to viewers, kinda like Jeffs..but his voice is amazing. .completely surprised me and made me put his name with the others..bc I'd lost faith in today's music until I heard his band.
This song is my ONE of my favorites. I came here today to listen and remember you on your heavenly birthday. You still calm my heart and speak to my soul.
Been reading the new Dave Lory book on Jeff(he was his manager) and the story around this song is so interesting. Jeff wrote it during the Grace recording sessions in just a short while but as time went on before the album was released, he grew to hate the song and would give everybody different reasons for why he wanted it dropped. Nobody understood why because it was a surefire radio hit and a great song but he was adamant. Ultimately it was dropped and So Real took its place. The manager thinks Jeff didn’t think it was good enough yet but I wonder if he wrote it in a moment of anger over his recent break up with his ex but then calmed down a bit and didn’t want her knowing just how he felt if it had been on the album.
Is there anyone in this world that could resist and don't fall in love, in a platonic and crazy love for this man? For this mesmerizing voice, he is a walking soul all naked, burning all in its shine and flames.. He touchs us in a different way, directely on our instincts.
It's so incredible how Buckley only released one studio album, and is not only considered one of the greatest albums of all time but one of the greatest artists of all time. Just shows you how special of a person he really was.
I'm grateful for the existence of this song, comforting to hear someone grasping the concept of "if you love her, let her go." I need that reminder every now and again to help to forget her myself.
9 years ago, my ex cheated on me with my best friend. I have not seen them since. This song is so relevant to me. 9 years on I wonder if I have truly forgotten her... and the unscrupulous things she did to me. Thank you Jeff for giving me a such a beautiful song to relate to.
Dominic Tong You don't have to forget her, but you do need to love yourself and want the best for yourself just as you would anybody else. If you love yourself you don't let people use and abuse you. F' her and keep it moving.
There are few daggers that sting more than when your best friend is the one. The girls can come and go while we understand it may not last. The best friend is supposed to be the one you fall back on for support when/if it crumbles. It sours the rest of your friendships...
Crybaby. You can never own another human being. Appreciate the time you had with her, and remember; feelings and thoughts born and die, just like people. Every second. Nothing is permanent except the change.
I have not listened to his music for a while, but when I come back to it I am always stunned by the emotional expression. His music never gets old, and I never grow tired of it.

I was a fan of his dads music... Tim Buckley...and he died at age 28... then I read that the only son Jeff.. died at age 30.. there was a lot of internal emotion in this family that brought out deep feelings in their music.. It is so sad that they never got to find solace in their possible future and never had help resolving all issues... They would have reached a higher place with their talents ..eventually..
This originally didn’t make the cut for Grace, but i’m so glad we got to hear it. He shared utter vulnerability with us. So many of us can relate to this feeling. Thank you, Jeff.

@@sarisatechasukij9486 3 years here. I got a girlfriend now, buts it's just not the same. You know, I think I fell in an endless pit of sorrow, I think of her first thing in the morning and when I go to sleep. I used to talk to my friends about her all the time, I don't do it anymore though, I made they think that I forgot her, but it's just beacause I don't want to worry them about my mental health. That relationship settle down too deep in my heart, and I have accepted that I will die with it.
Fraser herself declined their relationship being anything else than platonic. But even if she was lying, this is most probably not about her since they were friends until his death, so I don't think he ever tried to "forget her".
Jeff used to pick fights with her so he could be in that emotional mind state to write such beautiful songs such as 'Last Goodbye' etc. Yet Jeff thanks her father in the liner notes of the 'Grace' album, 'P. Thank you for her. Thank you for them all. Bless you for us two. Love, Jeff.' Rebecca's father's name was Peter. Another note should be that 'Forget Her' was originally meant to be on the 'Grace' LP but Michael Tighe came to Jeff with the intro idea of 'So Real'. Jeff loved it so much that they worked it up into a song and 'Forget Her' was scratched in favour of 'So Real'. Again, only in my understanding from articles I’ve read over the years. Mostly conjecture. Don’t believe anything you read right?
I think even the pace and itensity of the music kind of describes how one feels trying to forget someone. At first it's calm but kinda empty. Then the music gets a but more intense, because you remember them and miss them. Around the end the intensity is at its highest. You burst out, have a kind of break down by how much you really miss them
Jeff was one of those TRUE rarities...he knew his craft.... to quote Jeff : 'I can do this way or I can do it that' Such Brilliance shines briefly, unfortunately and his sad, sad passing was too shocking to believe it was real. I miss your voice Jeff. I miss you and the band. >you gave us more than we deserved but im forever left wondering just what beautiful resonance and rebound you would have made ...the legacy you left will forever impact those that listen. I thank you Jeff for signing a Beer Coaster for me at Shellys in QLD Australia when u toured on the 'Hard Luck Tour'. *I keep it like a 'true piece of The Cross'. Rest In Peace Jeff .

All of my pain when I think back to when
Remember her hair as it shone in the sun
The smell of the bed when I knew what she'd done
Tell yourself over and over you won't ever need
Her again
But don't fool yourself
She was heartache from the moment that you met her
Oh, my heart is frozen still as I try to find the will to forget her, somehow
She's out there somewhere now
Oh She was heartache from the day that I first met her
My heart is frozen still as I try to find the will to forget you, somehow
Cause I know you're somewhere out there right now
Thank you…
Beautiful!
Thank you❤
this song is way too beautiful i cannot.
I mean… good lord.
God, he was so beautiful. I've been obsessed with him for five god damn years and I still can never get sick of even one song. I get sick of everything in five minutes. Not him.
He'll always be there as one of the greatest of all time
ever since I discovered Grace 13 years ago, I've never gotten tired of it. it's my favorite album of all time, on a serious note. It's haunting, poetic, the arrangements are flawless, jeffs vocals is like god himself singing through him. It sucks that he died and were stuck with Justin Beiber...why??!! lol
Thats cuz hes a legend. Not many of those left in the world anymore...
This song hurts my heart
My heart crys out for Jeffs short life you can just see in his eyes and music the life he lived. What a person rip brother.
And I'm sitting here at 12 o'clock at night listening to Jeff and crying my eyes out because I can't forget him...I love you Jeff...
😢❤️
Jeff is "the tear that hangs inside my soul forever'.
Rest in peace prodigy..... your music has always been my therapy- touched my soul!
This song is my ONE of my favorites. I came here today to listen and remember you on your heavenly birthday. You still calm my heart and speak to my soul.
i cant explain how much i love jeff buckley
Interesting. It does capture a very raw moment
Was his ex Joan Wssser?
I’m here in 2024…remembering his father Tim. I got a few LP’s still. Gypsy woman…man what a father and son combo
this man was a shaman. he was from another world to which he then returned. ♡
I cry every time.
Kiera Williams I cri evry tiem
Kiera Williams me, too.
Kiera Williams same
***** alright.
+Kiera Williams I always take a dump when i hear this song' I love it that much,
I'm grateful for the existence of this song, comforting to hear someone grasping the concept of "if you love her, let her go." I need that reminder every now and again to help to forget her myself.
What a beautiful song even though he didn't like this song and didn't want it on the album. The most beautiful voice! We miss you Jeff!
One of my favourite ones!
Happy 52nd birthday Jeff. You are missed, Dream Brother. We will never forget you.
'Forget her' and 'Lover you shouldve come over' are my faves. It really draws me in and found my self crying. 💙
Jeff was a beautiful soul. Miss him. ❤
9 years ago, my ex cheated on me with my best friend. I have not seen them since. This song is so relevant to me. 9 years on I wonder if I have truly forgotten her... and the unscrupulous things she did to me. Thank you Jeff for giving me a such a beautiful song to relate to.
Stay strong Dominic. She didn't deserve you nor did your friend. You'll find someone and something better ahead. All the best
It sours the rest of your friendships...
stay strong
Crybaby. You can never own another human being. Appreciate the time you had with her, and remember; feelings and thoughts born and die, just like people. Every second. Nothing is permanent except the change.
this song is such a craft, such a gem, just gorgeous and original and so lovable as all of this songs and even the covers
every friday i swear bro is only here to ruin my weekends
I have not listened to his music for a while, but when I come back to it I am always stunned by the emotional expression. His music never gets old, and I never grow tired of it.
Can’t stop listening to this beauty...2025 anyone??
When I first heard this, I played it a million times!!! Still playing it in 2020z Lover, you should’ve come over is another one I listened to over and over, my god it is soooo good!!
Will never stop listening. My favourite album ever. He touches my soul
Gareth Owen It’s such a powerful song. All of his music is. I can’t get enough of him.
@@kelleyflint8207 yes I get that 100%. All his music just has that quality about it. Sets it apart from most!
Kelley Flint Me too...his voice is magic.. so sad that he is not here today, May He rest in peace
he was so deeply stricken with melancholy. may his soul rest peacefully.
They would have reached a higher place with their talents ..eventually..
why nature... is Like that?
This originally didn’t make the cut for Grace, but i’m so glad we got to hear it. He shared utter vulnerability with us. So many of us can relate to this feeling. Thank you, Jeff.
STUNNING
I miss music and music videos like this🥺
One of my favorite songs, just the sheer beauty of the playing along with the vocals. It’s so haunting but in a beautiful way.
BEAUTIFUL MUSIC
sad, beautiful, tragic and powerful song... love this.
it just deeply hurts me that this fabuolus guy's life ended almost 30 years ago when he was only 30. i was not even existed back then you know, but while listening those masterpieces i kinda feel like i am holding his grief. rest in peace scottie.
the world wasn’t ready for him
I can't believe this is the first time that I am hearing this song, absolutely amazing 4/22/2024
check out "lover you should of come over" and his cover of "I know its over"
Me too and it fits perfectly with my personal situation right now
Same. I wrote him off from Hallelujah which was a mistake
SAME WTF?
Beautiful isn't it. So is his dad Tom Buckley...have a listen...
i definitely understand how sensitive this song is and how personal it must have been to jeff and i feel guilty every time i listen to it knowing that he intentionally retracted it from grace but i'm also grateful it was released
The way he said sober 1:40 does something to my brain
It kills me that he died so young, smh. what a fantastic artist.
This is one of the greatest videos ever
jesbtsd qu m 9sw 100% agree
Kevin Gomora let's start a Jeff Buckley fan club
such a treasure, he was and is
was sober , with no place to go ! Jeff has the most heartbreaking sound in his voice.
this is so much more than a song
I feel this song
I have only gotten into Jeff Buckley recently and all I can say is that he is a man who had a connection with music like so little had. Truly a legend in music, so sad that he had to leave this earth at such a young age
One of the best songs I’ve ever heard
omg how i miss this man.
ETERNAL LOVE for this lovely boy, that i miss so so much....
He was looking for family. He found it in music, friends, so on and so forth. To all the folks that loved him my hat goes of to all of you! It is obvious he was one with music and gave it his essence. Thank JB for that.
The most gut wrenching heartbreaking song I’ve ever heard, my favorite thank you Jeff
Sooooo painfully beautiful ✨
i still miss u
His voice was so beautiful
Emotion has a soul. Soul has a voice.
I realized It was not healthy , I realized that being In love with someone who doesn't love you back was not healthy . I made my choice I moved on , saw her In theatre she greeted me with her green blooming eyes smiled and stunned me again she was Indeed a heartache I'm still trying to forget her .
Ogi Chan 7 months later and I'm still trying to forget her. Things get a little better every day.
@@kaladin7487 It's been two years and it seems to only get worse.
@@sarisatechasukij9486 Damn I forgot about my comment. It feels like such a long time ago. Recently I met someone who I truly love and she loves me unconditionally for who I am. Just keep holding on, the right one is out there somewhere.
@@kaladin7487 Congratulations! I'm glad you've found the right one. I wasn't actually talking about a romantic relationship, just a friend I had sometime ago. We stopped talking for a stupid reason. But I'll get over her someday.
That relationship settle down too deep in my heart, and I have accepted that I will die with it.
i cried a tear because of it
it’s so beautiful
This is so amazingly beautiful. Wish I’d have known this music when he was alive.
Can't believe it's been around 18 years now. I had my chance to see him in 96 and missed it, I thought at the time would catch him next tour :(
The thought of this made tear up
i would hate myself for it
When I first heard of Jeff's passing, I selfishly thought that we'd never get to hear his genius again. So thankful that gems like this exist.
this song never gets old. absolutely love the lyrics with jeff's amazing voice. gone too soon. R.I.P jeff.
his voice is so addictive
eu te amo jeff buckley
Imagine...there is a girl on this planet whom this song was written about!
It may be Elizabeth Fraser from the Cocteau Twins. They were together for a little bit.
Fraser herself declined their relationship being anything else than platonic. But even if she was lying, this is most probably not about her since they were friends until his death, so I don't think he ever tried to "forget her".
I believe her name is Rebecca Moore...not completely sure about the last name but def Rebecca..
MissMandy you're right it's Rebecca Moore
You burst out, have a kind of break down by how much you really miss them
This fella knows what's up
A God of music, his looks, his lyrics, his everything
One of my favorite songs by Jeff, I can feel the heartache in his voice.
Jeff was one of those TRUE rarities...he knew his craft....
to quote Jeff : 'I can do this way or I can do it that'
Such Brilliance shines briefly, unfortunately and his sad, sad passing was too shocking to believe it was real.
What a voice. Beautyful. Genius
