      Harris was a garbage candidate who ran a garbage campaign at the back end of her own party’s garbage presidency. Democrats need to look in the mirror and realise how badly they managed their campaign. Trump at least sounds like a leader, he projects confidence. Harris looked like a fish out of water, she was never convincing that she could handle the job. Most of her campaign was just “vote for me because I’m not Trump!” There was no substance and no clear plan. They failed and Trump capitalised. But it’s much easier to blame the voters than to admit the Democrats did a shit job of campaigning.

      Yeah, they’ll raise their prices once tariffs hit - even though the products they are selling are pre-tariff inventory, they’ll use the excuse of needing the extra money so they can buy the taxed inventory.
      Gas stations play the same game. The price of oil goes up, the price of gas in their tanks already goes up bc they gotta pay higher price to refill the tanks. But when the cost of oil drops, gas stations will hold their high prices until their next delivery.

      How long does that take? And is it even an option? Using domestic workers will absolutely cost more. Building new facilities will definitely cost more.

      Do you really believe that they are stockpiling? This is just a cash grab from workers and they will pay the tariff and pass it on to the customers. Maybe a week's supply will be bought but warehousing raw materials likely costs more than the tariff.

    I don't feel that ignorance is the problem. Many people are not interested in the political topics and do not care to learn about them. The problem is they are being lied to and they believe these lies. If Donald Trump told me that the sky was blue, I would question my reality.

    2:07 So, are the owners of this factory who are using their workers’ bonuses to stockpile materials and components at current prices going to SELL the completed goods to consumers at the current, lower prices after the tariffs are instituted, or are they going to raise prices concurrent with the amount of the tariffs, screwing the workers out of their bonuses while adding to the company’s profits? I’m betting it’s the latter.

    It will be interesting to see how many businesses actually go out of business because of the tariffs.
    There's a small manufacturer of gun silencers here in my hometown that just made a huge investment in a new building and expansion of their equipment to manufacture their products. The problem being that all the disposal equipment and even the raw material is imported. Can anyone guess who these gun people voted for ? It sure wasn't a black woman.

      For clothing manufacturers, the tariffs will probably be beneficial, as they currently have a hard time competing against companies like SHEIN and Temu. It’s the blanket tariffs on all imported goods that’s a problem. Expecting trump to deal with anything in a nuanced way is a fool’s errand, particularly since he seems to have a fundamental misunderstanding about tariffs himself.

    • @stephen3164
      @stephen3164 Месяц назад

      I mean, trump’s plan is to redefine overtime as more than x hours per MONTH, not day or week, so you can work 12 hours one day and get sent home early later in the week, and you’ll see no overtime pay. Or take a sick day that month, and that won’t count towards your hours worked for overtime calculation.
      Also, trump’s tax plan increases taxes for the poor and middle class, and lowers them for upper income households, so yeah, enjoy getting paid less, losing that overtime bump, and the cost of everything going up 25%.
