Cowes Week 2022 - Day 1

It was a perfect opener to Cowes Week. A decent breeze combined with a complex tidal situation at the start made for some key tactical decisions. (As some feedback: Since the tides were so important, I could've appreciated a chart showing the tides and geography. Since I'm new, this would help me get better insight in how this influenced the race.)

Watch out Cape31 class, rock stars flooding into a fleet are not necessarily a positive, too often we've seen that once the rock stars start to come into a class it quickly becomes an arms race among those owners with deeper pockets to hire the best talent, this quickly starts to deter the corinthians owners and potential owners and the class starts to wither on the vine.

You need a 20 boat Westerly Centaur fleet, but with each boat having a TV chef on board who has to cook up breakfast for the crew during the race. Breakfast has to made (and eaten) before the finish line is reached. The galley is riddled with GoPros and a live feed is streamed via TikTok or RUclips.
I’ve not quite fleshed out the rules, but in our celebrity obsessed world this would be a great way of levelling down (no offence to the Westerly Owners Club).
