I don't understand toner pads. I rather just use a sheet mask. 😂 If I want to use a targetted treatment, I would prefer a cream or ointment. Petition for all eyeshadow to have magnetic pans.
My newest favorites are toner pads! I love how I can have a targeted application and get the sheet mask effect in half the time and half the mess! Sheet mask essence in my hair gunks it up so bad! My favorite toner pads are the Round Lab birch juice pads for dry and dehydrated skin. It's very popular among the K drama actors and actresses.

Alice, with the covergirl of you press it in with one of the flat puffs like they have in a k-beauty cushion foundation it may work better. That’s what works for me.
The Covergirl essence takes work for me. The first time I tried it was a total mess, then decided to pump onto my hand, mix it around well, and add to my face in small amounts. I do love the final look because as a dry skin girl it is so comfortable to wear, but I'm not sure I'll repurchase. Thanks for sharing your faves and fails, Alice, this was fun!

Did the back of the hand trick I saw on another channel and it was MUCH better 👌 I like a light/medium coverage, though, and this is just barely light. Wasn't the foundation for me and my rosacea, but might work for someone with better skin..lol
I bought Mary & May sheet masks and had exactly the same experience... damn... the fragrance. Whyyy? :( And together with those masks I also bought their eye cream - the same story - instant disappointment - so much fragrance :(( I need to accept it and only buy their serums in future, because I really like those. But have wasted money on their perfumed lotion, sheet masks, eye cream... I do not get it, why so strong fragrance everywhere. So sad... I do not mind mild fragrance. But these are too strong for me. I do not like to put perfume on my face.

That was a helluva run on sentence… sorry! But I just wanted to tell someone who loves skincare as much as me. I am also dry-combo acne-prone AND extremely sensitive and clog-prone so my skin is really really difficult. I’m really hoping the laser can knock back some of the little blood vessels that pop up and hang around for weeks on the center of my face. I’ll keep you updated on it if you want 😂 Hope you have had a great week!! ❤❤

Sad to hear about the Mary and May masks, I was eyeing those. But I really dislike strong overwhelming fragrances, so I may have to pass.. Also I found your channel just recently and absolutely love your content! I have some similar skin concerns, so your recommendations and experiences have been really helpful! My main concern is redness/irritation, with a little dehydration and acne, for some spice I guess 🤣 I'm not sure if you've tried anything from the Etude Soon Jung line but I am absolutely obsessed with the relief toner!! The first time I tried it, I was desperate and in the middle of a horrible flare up, and immediately my redness started to lessen. By the next morning my skin looked probably 80% better! I've never had a product work so quickly like that! That toner plus the Aveeno Calm & restore oat gel were the only 2 products I could tolerate, and they literally brought my skin back from the brink! Now I don't think I can live without a hydrating/calming toner in my routine anymore 😆
True! Here in Canada, we got rid of pennies several years ago because they cost too much to produce. Now we just round up or down if paying with cash. And who does that these days?

I had the same problem with those sheet masks. I used them on my hands to use them up and they worked great there. So at least they didn't go to waste, but I will go back to Mary & May's other sheet masks for my face.

I was turned off my Mary&May at first because the first thing I tried was their collagen peptide sheet masks. The fragrance was just so strong and not pleasant. I absolutely love the blackberry and Idebenone cream and I’m glad I gave them a second chance, but I definitely won’t be trying anymore of their sheet masks 😅
its quite disappointing since buying sheet mask packs are much more cost effective, especially for those who like to use them often. I'll just continue to stick with my lululun mask packs I supposeee

I got the 30 set blackberry masks from Mary and May and love them! however, i don't mind fragrance and really enjoyed them. I have dry skin so don't really get breakouts if ever. I also got the vitamin C and niacinamide masks, I really like these 30 box sets compared to the individual ones as it is better value. I never used Tula because they are so expensive, but a lot of people like them,

Has anyone ever told you that you resemble Jerry Hall? I had to say it out loud because I've been thinking it more often lately. The hair, yes, but it's really the bone structure and eyes. Random, I know! A favorite product of late is Pyunkang Yul's Essence In Lotion. It's a hydration-packed thicker emulsion that I use right before a heavier moisturizer. It's the juiciest emulsion/lotion I've ever used. I'm just going to layer it in warmer weather as a one-and-done moisturizer. Once again, Pyunkang Yul showing me what I'm missing in my life.

I love olives of all kinds, with or without the pits. How cool Regelica reached out to you on the fragrance thing. One of the channels I watch did recommend the Covergirl as an alternate for the Chanel though I believe she used her fingers instead of a brush to apply. I can't recall if you've reviewed any Jordan Samuel items.
Same! I think there’s a bit more flavor with the pits, but it’s much easier to work with pitted for recipes. So I’ll take either haha I have been wanting to try some JS products for ages, maybe this will finally be the year I do it!
I am trying the whole Regelica line. Just got my box today! Already was enjoying their immunity essence thanks to you and now I have a backup for that plus their cleanser, serum, and cream!

I have a video on that topic! It’s kind of a hard one as hyperpigmentation has a lot of different causes; addressing the cause will help find the most optimal solution. But in general, collagen remodeling via microneedling (note that I don’t feel comfortable recommending that broadly; I use a disposable system but it still requires safe handling/still IS a risk-though one of the best treatments for pigmentation) as well as some stronger actives, ie exfoliants. I also personally still swear by SK-II. Hope that helps!
Dieux skin is on Sephora now and they have changed a lot to not have those stock issues again. I’m guessing being in Sephora they have alot more made. I’ve been using Dieux for years now since I got a tiny sample of the cream and the the deliverance. Love the masks. I also love the 10% glycerin cream they have air Angel is also great
I love Charlotte from Dieux. And yep. The are ALWAYs out of stock of the moisturizer I want. 😂 Mary and May is always a bit of crap shoot for me! Their eye cream…EYE cream. about Face and Alter Ego for the win ❤

I've wanted to start using a vit C serum again. I like the idea of only using the Regelica essence. The cost per oz is fantastic. With the bottle being so big & having vit C, do you have any oxidation concerns?
Hi Alice. Thanks for letting us know that Mary and May Idebenone mask has fragrance and it is overwhelming... I have used the serum for 3 bottles now and it contains no essential oils and fragrance in the ingredients list. How sad... Sadly, I can't use sulphur in my skincare since I am medically allergic and thankfully I can still use salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide treatments to curb acne breakout... I also do not understand the container used for foundation that resembles a concealer? Does it make sense to have an applicator since a foundation is to be applied for the entire face? 😂
Yes it’s so disappointing! I adore the serum and the cream, but it’s just way too much scent in these masks 💔 I was iffy at first on the applicator, but I love it for a speedy, light coverage application. It turns out it’s perfect for dabbing on exactly where I want a bit of coverage 😁
I bought the Covergirl Essence because I heard great things about the Chanel tint. I don't have that money to spend so I thought $22 to try was a compromise. I also sooo wanted to like it. i'm not sure if it's the skincare underneath, application, or the Covergirl Essence itself, but it doesn't look good on my skin. Kicked myself and should had bought the About Face foundation instead.

Yesss these are the best olives! This brand (which I can’t recall from memory, I only know the jar design LOL) also came out with some pickled onions recently. Turns out those are also incredible, although I suspect those might be a bit more of a personal taste thing. The olives are a crowd pleaser though!

They’re buttery for sure! Although I don’t have a Costco (wild statement I know) so I just get them at Publix It’s actually even easier with the silicone masks, as you apply the same amount you normally would and put it on top! ☺️

Have you tried the two new isntree sunscreens? I bought the fluid one and the texture is amazing but I am still not sure about the scent. It doesn't have parfum so I guess it is the smell from the ingredients but I am not the biggest fan. I ordered the house of hur sun fluid in hopes that that one has the same lovely texture without the smell. If smells don't bother someone I feel like the Isntree fluid is amazing for people who don't like spf or who have combo or oily skin. It is very thin an lightweight. One of my new favorites is the numbuzin Nr. 1 toner and the Isntree green tea cleanser. I am also currently trying the Acwell licorice serum. I like it so far
Yep exactly! They have their own gel as well, but I’ve combined their eye masks with so many products (currently the axis-y eye serum which might make the next favorites video at this rate lol)

OMG the mary and May blackberry mask I didn’t put together till u said about fragrance. That would be why my eczema around my eyes keeps flaring up! Relatively, at least haha Yeah, sadly it is - lately at least. Did it ship yet? I’ve had some options to cancel lately, not entirely sure what’s going on. One nice thing about YesStyle is that if it hasn’t shipped, you can go to account->orders and see the status of everything in your order. If items are OOS for too long, you’ll have the option at the bottom to click on “cancel out of stock items”.

YES. The worst design, ugh. Worse yet if it has a dropper underneath an external lid (glares at Ciele, who has a nice tint but with THAT!)

Love your reviews . Any recs on dealing with hyperpigmentation?
I have a video on that topic! It’s kind of a hard one as hyperpigmentation has a lot of different causes; addressing the cause will help find the most optimal solution. But in general, collagen remodeling via microneedling (note that I don’t feel comfortable recommending that broadly; I use a disposable system but it still requires safe handling/still IS a risk-though one of the best treatments for pigmentation) as well as some stronger actives, ie exfoliants. I also personally still swear by SK-II. Hope that helps!
Dieux skin is on Sephora now and they have changed a lot to not have those stock issues again. I’m guessing being in Sephora they have alot more made. I’ve been using Dieux for years now since I got a tiny sample of the cream and the the deliverance. Love the masks. I also love the 10% glycerin cream they have air Angel is also great

I get it because it’s SUCH a good moisturizer, but also…oh my gosh, it’s apparently been out of stock for months!? I set it aside out of fear I’d love it too much and never be able to use it again lol

I've wanted to start using a vit C serum again. I like the idea of only using the Regelica essence. The cost per oz is fantastic. With the bottle being so big & having vit C, do you have any oxidation concerns?
Not at all, no! They use MAP and SAP, two vitamin c derivatives that are much more stable (and I prefer them to L-AA, personally 😃)

Hi Alice. Thanks for letting us know that Mary and May Idebenone mask has fragrance and it is overwhelming... I have used the serum for 3 bottles now and it contains no essential oils and fragrance in the ingredients list. How sad...
Sadly, I can't use sulphur in my skincare since I am medically allergic and thankfully I can still use salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide treatments to curb acne breakout...
I also do not understand the container used for foundation that resembles a concealer? Does it make sense to have an applicator since a foundation is to be applied for the entire face? 😂
Yes it’s so disappointing! I adore the serum and the cream, but it’s just way too much scent in these masks 💔
I was iffy at first on the applicator, but I love it for a speedy, light coverage application. It turns out it’s perfect for dabbing on exactly where I want a bit of coverage 😁
I bought the Covergirl Essence because I heard great things about the Chanel tint. I don't have that money to spend so I thought $22 to try was a compromise. I also sooo wanted to like it. i'm not sure if it's the skincare underneath, application, or the Covergirl Essence itself, but it doesn't look good on my skin. Kicked myself and should had bought the About Face foundation instead.
Are you able to return it? I find it pretty frustrating that it’s that expensive and imo pretty underwhelming. I wish I liked it more too! 😭

Yesss these are the best olives! This brand (which I can’t recall from memory, I only know the jar design LOL) also came out with some pickled onions recently. Turns out those are also incredible, although I suspect those might be a bit more of a personal taste thing. The olives are a crowd pleaser though!

I am not sure how to use the slicone mask. For a DIY sheet mask, I can soak up a lot of liquid. How do I apply the same volume of fluid with a silicone mask ?
They’re buttery for sure! Although I don’t have a Costco (wild statement I know) so I just get them at Publix
It’s actually even easier with the silicone masks, as you apply the same amount you normally would and put it on top! ☺️

It honestly didnt do me any harm 😅😆 I agree with you about the sheet masks, the collagen and hyaluronic acid versions are heavily scented as well. It's overwhelming,.

Have you tried the two new isntree sunscreens? I bought the fluid one and the texture is amazing but I am still not sure about the scent. It doesn't have parfum so I guess it is the smell from the ingredients but I am not the biggest fan. I ordered the house of hur sun fluid in hopes that that one has the same lovely texture without the smell. If smells don't bother someone I feel like the Isntree fluid is amazing for people who don't like spf or who have combo or oily skin. It is very thin an lightweight.
One of my new favorites is the numbuzin Nr. 1 toner and the Isntree green tea cleanser. I am also currently trying the Acwell licorice serum. I like it so far

Yep exactly! They have their own gel as well, but I’ve combined their eye masks with so many products (currently the axis-y eye serum which might make the next favorites video at this rate lol)

OMG the mary and May blackberry mask I didn’t put together till u said about fragrance. That would be why my eczema around my eyes keeps flaring up! I didn’t even think about it because all the other blackberry products and delightful. Thanks lady
No I do rinse! But I don’t mind it as much, oddly enough. I guess because the pads make it speedy in its own way?

Prior to that I tried to order it online from Ulta. Which was unsuccessful. I swore I’d never try to purchase something online from Ulta but my need for this product overtook me !

Yeah, sadly it is - lately at least. Did it ship yet? I’ve had some options to cancel lately, not entirely sure what’s going on. One nice thing about YesStyle is that if it hasn’t shipped, you can go to account->orders and see the status of everything in your order. If items are OOS for too long, you’ll have the option at the bottom to click on “cancel out of stock items”.
That's actually a brilliant system for volumizing! I would try it but I have a thing about having certain products in my hair, Idk why....been that way since I was a kid. Hair spray is one! But I may try your routine w/o that one thing and see if it works for me too
