Dr. Saheb! Till now, you have so far eloquently put forth the matters related to political mess in every detail. Now, I think, is the high time to delve on the most significant aspect of our life, that is obviously the Economic Scenario of Nepal, in present context. As you know, the financial situation, in larger perspective, is in the state of doldrum, in the length & breadth of Nepal, owing to the inaptitude on the part of government. The worsening balance of payment position of Nepal itself projects an awful picture along with 87% of national budgetary outlay being expended under the “Regular Expenses” heading while, a negligible 17% of the budgetary allocations only is diverted on development works. In other words, a big chunk of Tax money, collected from the public, is indiscriminately going to the pockets of leaders, officials and government servants by way of salary, perks and other allowances; and due which, the country’s overall reserves is dwindling. Under this circumstance, if the national income generating mechanism together with, austerity measures, are not immediately applied or, put in place, then you can imagine a sort of economic bankruptcy or down turn this nation has to face in the not to distance futures.

Dr. Saheb! You have forthrightly sketched the characters of the political leaders. So, no words are powerful enough to deny or counteract your argument. The next issue that you may, please, raise should surround on the pathetic economic scenario of this country which is passing through difficult phase of doldrums. The overall financial index reveals a gloomy picture. This is seemingly reflected in the Balance of Payment position of Nepal, which is adversely negative. Similarly, 87% of the national budgetary outlay of fund is spent in the disbursement of salary, perks and allowances to the leaders, officials and staffs. Sadly, it is just 17% of the budget allocation that is invested in Development Works which is negligibly low. Since, a substantial sum of tax money is going to the pockets of individual and a little amount being used in the infrastructural projects- the long term effect becomes apparently clear that, sooner or later, the country may be heading towards the edge of bankruptcy. In order to sustain such an over capitalized budgetary package the Ministers are in the fray to raise additional fund through internal and international loans. This is really a dangerous step to collect money to be spent on unproductive line. You may highlight on this subject in your next sitting, if you could.
