Mahalo for sharing this amazing history of Hana. As a resident of Hana, it is good that there still is the push back for progress. Still a simple village with lots of Aloha. Seeing the original Hasagawa General Store and how much Neil looks like his father Harry was interesting. Aloha!

      Hi Emmalani
Thank you for your comments. Its been over 33 years since I put the Hana show together. I'm glad it preserved some precious moments for you. It was a pleasure to meet so many wonderful people, including your grandmother, back then.
      Best Regards,

First time I went to Maui was Hana a couple weeks ago. I was also the 1st one in my whole family to go to Hawaii. Some even asked if I was a Chicana visiting and that meant a lot. It was absolutely gorgeous. Its unfortunate how often tourism affects the wild life and vegetation. It was wonderful to have learned about different traditions, beliefs and culture.
