I am pleasantly surprised by Coventry.
I never thought it was so beautiful. All I have ever heard about this city is negative things like guns, gangs, knives, violence, drugs, and deprivation. It just goes to show, that you will see more of what you focus on, for the good and the bad.
Thank you for this tour of Coventry.

Fell in love with the whole area, booked a few more nights there, stayed longer and had a great time!

We speak with an accent exceedingly rare, you want a cathedral we've got one to spare, in our Coventry homes!
Thank you for documenting our beautiful sky blue city. Sadly one of the 3 spires is missing now due to the reformation, but it's known as the three spires city. It has changed a lot over the years, the Coventry cross was moved more recently as that used to be behind cathedral lanes.

Wonderful video. I didn't realise Coventry had such fantastic old buildings and I'm from the West Midlands! I knew about the bombed out cathedral of course, but not all those other buildings and architecture, definitely worth a visit to explore.

Love Coventry, haven’t been back for the best part of 30 years but I’ve promised me dad I’d come back up from Kent to take him to watch the Sky Blues when they get back in the premier league. The city centre used to have large aviaries dotted about with exotic birds when I was a kid, also a Wimpey that looked like a flying saucer, used to get me footy clobber from a shop called Eltex up near the train station and me Pringle and Lyle & Scott jumpers from Johnny Reays golf shop in Keresley. I worked down Coventry Colliery when I left school but that ended when it shut. Great place…PUSB. 👍🏻

Coventry is so much more than its buildings, old and new. Its industrial heritage is rich and varied and as its industry grew so did the city. All of this is down to the past and present inhabitants of Coventry for it is the people that make a city great and they have built a history and a city to be proud of, despite one or two architectural faux pas after the war.

Fantastic video. My partner and I lived in Coventry for many years. We now live in West Sussex. You mentioned the Specials at the Cathedral ruins in 2019. I was there for that concert. If you get to do another video visit Spon Street which is the Tudor street. Also the 2 Tone museum or Coventry music museum. We love your videos. Cheers Mike and Alison xx

I'm a proud Coventrian, born & bred. Born in Kerseley, though I was raised in the Canley area of the city most of my life. The City of Coventry has a great history & wonderful old buildings, as depicted in this wonderful video above. Like any other city in the UK, it also has its problems, which I never deny or gloss over, either. So great to see it in a nice light for a change without any negativity.

You certainly looked at some of the nice places in the city but I'm disappointed that you didn't feature the 'new' cathedral. It's a beautiful building and even if you didn't want to go inside you could have mentioned some of the info about it's architecture.

I visited, & the historical buildings along with their pavements in Coventry are absolutely glorious, but sadly very few remain. They should have waited & restored Coventry to his former glory (as they've done in other countries) as it would have benefitted Coventry & the country on many levels, as those so-called harsh modern buildings & layouts have since created an ugly unsettling soulless atmosphere, & I couldn't wait to leave.

They spent a lot of money doing up Broadgate before the Olympics, so it's only really the past decade or so that it's had that greenery. Before then it was utterly depressing, it literally was all concrete and roads. I still can't stand the place, I've had too many horrible experiences with people there, and avoid it at all costs. You only really showed the better parts of the city too. I haven't been there since before the pandemic but I bet that the precinct area is still full of societies rejects.
Next time, take a walk through Hillfields. Then hop on a bus to Wood End and Stoke Aldermoor. Good luck uploading any footage, I'd be surprised if you made it out with your camera/phone still in your possession.
