  • A Barndance followed by a hornpipe from my end of semester performance in April 2022 for the MA Irish Traditional Music Performance at the Irish World Academy, University of Limerick.
    Musicians:
    Charles Monod (concertina)
    Kieva McGonagle (harp)
Thank you so much to Kieva for the wonderful accompaniment 🙏🎶💚
🎵 If There Weren't Any Women In The World: I learned this beautiful barndance years ago from a session with Terry Bingham, Yvonne Casey and Stéphane Germain at Fitz's Pub in Doolin.
🎵 Josephine Begley's: I first learned hornpipe from Terry Bingham’s album, on which he calls this tune “Mairtin O’Connor’s”. I only found out recently that this tune was in fact a composition of Frankie Gavin. It is the great flute and concertina player from Laois Tommy Fitzharris who provided me with this information, as he recorded the tune for an online concert. I was subsequently able to work on this tune with Tommy as my tutor in UL.
    Recorded on 19th April 2022
