There are 5 main steps to take away from this video while learning how to drop in on your scooter:
1. before dropping in make sure you are able to ride with balance
2. start out by dropping in with one foot off your scooter
3. keep your deck level on the coping and keep your weight center

very well explained video, most videos out there don't explain or go into detail like this one, I've been scootering for around 2 years but i never learned how to drop in until i got the urge the other day and decided to finally learn it, drop in unlocked🔓,appreciate it
Hey absolutely! I always try my best to make tutorials that i know would have helped me back when i was learning. Stoked to hear you were able to get them down. Keep crushing it Mate
my close friend taught me how to drop in when I tried scootering for the first time (my other friend gave me a try) and it was really fun, now I've bought myself a scooter because of that
Love it and super helpful 👍
Yoooo thanks so much! I'm so stoked you thought my tutorial was helpful! thanks for watching
I did it like 8 times and now i Can do it anymlre
ahh shoot what happend? think you might be leaning too far to the side while dropping in?
Let’s goo 300 th like
haha thats legit! First you take out 90th comment, and now your 300th comment! you the freakin man!
Words of Advice just lean forward and send it
so true!!!! the amount of times riders could do it first T is unreal.
I thought I should do a bunny hop and drop in 😂😂😂😂
I have money

nice just got back on my scoot yesterday from my broken ankle❤️❤️❤️
thats so awesome to hear bro! hope your first sesh back went well. and i hope your ankle is feeling good

@@SaaroShwani-ol3wc cringe as hell
Sucks how I’m trying to drop in my bowl but it’s like 2 of me standing on myself😭😭😭
you got this! bigger drop ins are the same as smaller drop in but just taller and a bit scarier (looking). but the core fundamentals are the same
U got it!
The only thing im scared of, is if my backwheel hits the pipe and i fall forward
Tutorial:If you fall and get hurt
Suck it up and keep going. You
Should also always wear a helmet
And pads so you don’t get hurt
@@BreydenBallsOut4 pads ?
If the back wheel hits the pipe you won’t fall but start at a small ramp first good luck 🤞 😊
@@Channel-j2s i cant find small ramps in paris

I dropped in my second day scootering on the half pipe and I freaked out because I did it but when I went down I put my feet out and now i can do it and thx for vid ❤️❤️❤️❤️ 🛴
Right on man! love to hear the progression, keep crushing it. Thanks so much for watching.
You make the best most professional descriptive tutorials yet no one watches them
it's alright, as time goes on and people find my channel, I hope they'll stick around as I try my best to bring as much possible value to the viewers as I can. But I still really appreciate when you guys help me by sharing my videos to other riders that could use these videos.
really appreciate your support man, i always love seeing your name pop up in my comments on all my videos.
100% agree
tbh i dropped in on something that was 6ft because i thought it was five feet its really all mental
Haha that’s so funny, I see that happen all the time.
Thank you I forgot how to do one Cuase I broke my wrist so I had to learn agin lol 😅
Absolutely dude! hyped to hear your back relearning it. stoked you didn't let your wrist stop you. you got this!
it was my first day today going to a skate park so i looked at your video and my first day i did a 4ft drop in!! very scary
My 8 year old has just braved this thanks to your video. He’s feeling rightly pleased with himself. Many thanks!!
Hey thanks is much for watching. That is so awesome to hear my video was able to help. please give him a big fist bump for me and tell his he's doing great.

Yeah ikr, literally such a underrated rider, also in my opinion makes the best tutorials
@@IsaacTheMartini right such good advice
You guys rock!!!! Thank you so much for your support. I Always love seeing your names pop up in my video comments
this may sound wird but whats the name of your intro song?
We actually made the intro song ourselves, but it does use a super similar sample sound that is used in a suicide boys song. i cant recall the actual song name tho.
This video helped so much thank you I just did a 6ft drop in yesterday I have been scooting for about 1 year
yooo thats whats up dude! keep killing the progression. So stoked to hear my video was able to help.
I just dropped in for the first time myself today on a 5 foot without practice and i still managed to do it.You can do this guys, its so easy when you just believe in yourself.
Right on! that is awesome you were able to drop in on a 5ft without any practice. keep crushing it mate
I like how when you put it.You it takes you to a website lol
Im trying my best
50 years old, 6ft2, 2 months scooting with my 9 and 7 year old.... dropping in is a process... they have no issues, but my center of gravity is higher... its difficult... its my balance in question... ive seen kids dropping in with their feet far back on the decks.... effortlessly.. 😂😂😂
that is so awesome man!!! i'm sure your kids absolutely love having your with them shredding at the park. i think thats the coolest thing when i see dads out there having fun and learning along with there kids. you got this, just take it slow and start small. slow and steady wins the race. you are totally right about the center gravity point being higher. you will wanna use your legs to adsorbe more as you drop in to help lower your center gravity until you get fully comfy with it.
Thanks for the tips from another ole boy with boy sorta arrangements , ole boys rock !! lol
You deserve a lot more recognition but I appreciate the videos.
Much love mate, i really appreciate that. We’ll get there one day hopefully 🤞🏼 until then every like, comment, sub and share means that absolute world to me. Thanks so much for all of the support

Wow good tutorial even though i know how to drop in but it is a good tutorial for people who want to learn
yoo thanks so much for watching!!!! i really appreciate the support
@@ChaseRost I am subbed to you 👍👍👍
it s so scary
it s like when your theacher puts you at the table
Ahh shoot i know that feeling. just try to take it slow and easy, and know that you can send it when ever you are ready. sometimes this helps to take the pressure off for when you are ready to actually send it. also try to send it on super small ramps first to make it less scary, then work your way up.
How are you so underrated Chase? I love your content, it is great. I was actually wondering if you could maybe make a tutorial on flying out of a quarter pipe?
He has already a tutoriol for that!
@@marileenboer9911 He has an air tutorial but not a fly out tutorial I believe
@@muhnamesnotjames1743 ah true yes sometimes im confused with the terms.
yoo thanks so much! i really appreciate the support. and heck yeah, i'll absolutely make a tutorial on flying out of the ramp. thanks for the video idea
I'd recommend warming up first cause i tried dropping down without warming first and i ended up scraping my knee. After i warmed up and i could Easily do it but if you haven't scooted aroind lately just warm up to it
For sure, great tip mate. warming up if a great way to get comfy before sending any trick. thanks for adding a helpful tip
Everytime i try to drop in my deck slips out as im going down
sounds like you need to try to lean more straight in. Usually the deck slips out when you are leaning to one side to far. try to make sure your body weight is centered as you lean in. This should help you from having your deck slip out to the side while dropping in.
Chase Rost thank you
Wow it helped so much I have always been so scared but u helped heaps tyy
So stoked to hear my video was able to help!!! Keep crushing it mate!
I can go down ramps. But I keep hitting my right foot on the ramp in fear while going down. Cool video though!😊
thats a great way to get commfy on the ramp. Eventually you'll wanna rely less and less on your right foot till you can doo it with both ft on. you got this, just keep sending them and they will become easier and easier
@@ChaseRost ok. Thx!
@@ChaseRost My back wheel is still hitting the cope
Heyooo! Can you show me a video to go down steep quarter pipes.
Hey hey! going down steep quarters is just like going down smaller ramps. you just have to lean forward a bit more and really commit to the drop. i always recommend starting on a mellow ramp and slowly working your way to bigger and bigger/ steeper ramps.
@@ChaseRostthanks, I can drop in now
@@Gloom_Scare heck yeah dude! 👊🏼
I think no joke you are probably the most underrated RUclips seriously
Yoo thanks so much, We’ll get there one day hopefully 🤞🏼 until then every like, comment, sub and share means so much to me

your awesome... fantastic teacher
thanks so much man! i really appreciate that
Yessir really had a hard time hyping myself up to drop in and this really helped me!
Yoooo you the man! I'm so stoked to hear my video was able to help hype you up. hope you were able to get them
Every time when I’m at the the skate park I feel so nervous because it’s a bowl not a quarter pipe
You got this. Dropping into a bowl is super similar to dropping into a normal quarter pipe.
I can go down without coping but all the ramps in my skate park are like 4ft 4 maybe 4 there is a 8ft one and there is a 6 ft one
those all sound like solid drop ins. i would recommend starting with the 4ft with copping and then working your way up. its the same steps as when you drop into a ramp without coping as when you drop into a ramp with copping.
I’ve been riding for almost a month now I can Tailwhip , bar spin half can 180s and all and I just realise I’ve always been dropping in with one foot and once I go down I put my other foot on the deck when I’m going down hitting the curb 😂 is that fine ?
thats a super popular way to drop in. dropping in and then putting your other foot on is totally ok. once you get super comfy with dropping in with one foot off, it'll make it super easy to drop in in the future with both feet on.
Just transferred to scooter from bike idk anything I’m tryna drop in and not fall
You got this! I actually started out on bikes to and then went to scooters too. scooters and bikes your actually super similar. A lot of the tricks are interchangeable between scooters and bikes.
It didn’t work I fall over five times then after that you work so it kinda works so yeah!!!
Keep working on them. The more you do, the easier they'll get.
also it might sound odd but its actually a good thing to fall too. it'll help you learn how to bail out of the trick if its ever not going right
Everytime I’ve just dropped in my back wheel has it the top of the ramp and it’s messed me up so I prefer to just jump into it from the top
that totally works too. have you been able to work your way into rolling dropping in yet?
I‘m getting my scooter in a few days so this is very helpful
If you feel comfortable hitting your wheel on the coping can you hit the coping
you absolutely can! Actually most of the time when i drop in and am going for max speed, my wheels just slightly touch the coping so that is totally ok if you are comfy with your wheels touching
Uhm sir your front wheel is backwards and the clamp is backwards to ;-; still I’m learning to drop in and this really helped :)
good eye! I’ve always rode my fork backwards like this. I personally like how it feels. It also helps with tricks like nose manny’s and foot jams. Also it helps minimize speed wobbles when pumping super fast.
also so stoked to hear that my tutorial was able to help.
The quarter pipe in my skate park is the size of the bigger one beside ur small one
Yikes thats definitely a bit of a tuff one to drop in on as your first one, but still totally possible. the main difference is your commitment level is going to have to be even higher. so when you drop in on a big ramp like that, you are going to have to leave forward more in the beginning to get into the transition. sometimes even traveling to another skatepark with a smaller ramp can help up.
Amazing video i’ll try it tomorrow 🎉
You got this!!!! How'd it go?
@@ChaseRost Not bad i didn’t clip my back wheel luckily😮💨
I learned by gaveling one foot off and stepping into it and putting my foot back on
thats a great way to get yourself started going into the ramp
The way I learned is I put my front foot on the scooter, And I leaned it downwards, and drop in.
thats a great way!
I started three days ago and I tried to drop in a 5 foot ramp and I fell on my head so hard that I fainted
Ouch! hope you’re alright now mate. Also hope you have a helmet. Definitely would recommend a slightly smaller ramp to help build up your drop in confidence.
some where around the 4.64k subscriber mark Lets goooo
Heck yeah!!!! Were going to keep grinding
my deck is shaped like a triangle quadrilateral
thats super interesting, what kind of scooter do you have?
Definitely a flat bottom deck will help all around.
I just got back scootering broke each side of my wrist and my pinky finger when I was dropping down lol
Ouch.

@chase rost cause of you I learnt how to drop in on the second most highest ramp at my skatepark thx so much👍👍👍👍
yooo that is whats up!!!!!! keep crushing it mate. you gotta let me know once you hit the biggest drop in now at your park
this helped SO much i was so scared to push my self to drop in my local 4ft and I'm younger so I'm much smaller! thanks you so much for making this!!
at first I could only do a prebuilt 3ft btw the 4ft is concrete so way more sketchy
That is so awesome! I’m hyped my video was able to help! That’s so sick you stepped it up to a 4ft quarter concrete quarter. Keep crushing it! Sounds like a 5ft quarter is next 😆
I already know how to drop in but im still gonna watch it
You rock!!!! thanks so much fo watching
the front bars being backwards are giving me anxiaty
haha I’ve always rode my fork like this. I personally like how it feels backwards. It also helps with tricks like nose manny’s and foot jams. Also it helps minimize speed wobbles when pumping super fast.
i caught my back wheele, went over my bars and broke my wrist, now i am watching videos befor i try again
ouch! i hope you have a super speedy recovery. Definitely a great idea to watch some tutorials to help you for when you're ready to send it again.
been scootering for 2 days. i can tailwhip, barspin, 180, 360, manuel, and roll arnd on ramps. yesterday i stood on a 5ft quarter and looked at it for a min and said fuck it. just jumped into it and did it fine. it’s not hard. just do it.
Right on dude!!!! Your progression is insane. Keep crushing it man!
Already better than me lol
This did it once but I almost fell and the was kinda scared
ahh man you got it. the first one is always the scariest. after that they only get easier the more you do
Dont use an old scooter you will break something
for sure. i always recommend giving your scooter a quick check over every time before you ride, just to make sure theres no cracks and anything broken.
My bowl is all waxed so it’s impossible to do anything
skaters might hate you for this, but you can bring an old towel with you and try to wipe off some of the wax in the area you are tying to ride. that way its a bit less slippery
How do I maintain balance on a scooter when go down hill?
its just like when you are on level ground, but you just gotta put your body weight in the direction you wanna go. so if you are going down hill, then you wanna lean forward to match the angle. if you are going up hill, then you will lean slightly back a pinch. the best way to practice this is to roll around on the flat -bottom of a halfpipe and slowly work your way up and round of the transitions.
Guys I’m going to wood ward next month 😝
dude!!!!!!! thats so sick!!!!!!!!!! i hope you have a blast
Ok doing this today wish me luck :*
You got this!!!!! good luck
My back wheel still bonking in the coping
try your best to stay loose soo even when that happens you'll still be ok. upon the initial drop in you might just need to lean forward a bit more to get that back wheel from bonking.
I can drop in on my skateboard but not on my scooter
you got this! if you can drop in on a board, you’ll be able to drop in on a scooter no problem. its honestly even easy on a scooter
I started scooting last month, i have been trying to drop in, all theses videos just show bunny hopping, this is the best one by far, New Sub :D
Much love mate! i really appreciate that. super stoked to hear that you liked the detail i added in. stoked to have you a part of the sub fam
I have got a bit of a problem, no parks near me have a good drop in to learn, the best thing close enough to me to use is a 6ft almost vert so yeah, i don't think i will be able to learn it on that
6ft and almost vert..... that will definitely be a bit harder to learn on, but still doable i would highly recommend getting as comfortable as you can at pumping up and down the ramp. if you can get yourself almost to the top of the ramp, it wont feel as scary when it come to dropping in. but definitely if you are ever able to travel to a new park with a a bit more variety in ramps, then that'll definitely helps for sure.
I've decided to go and try learn bmx or mountain biking instead as i feel like scooter is way to difficult to learn with the things nearby me, there is another skatepark which is street though which i could improve on however, thank you for the tip!
nice editing you earned a sub !
Much love!!!! thanks so much for appreciating my editing, i really appreciate that.
I got comfortable by stepping in to it first
thats a great way to get yourself started going into the ramp. once you get fully comfortable doing that, thats a perfect transition into keeping both feet on
Let’s goo 90 th comment also this helped a lot
ahh heck yeah!!!! you rock for being the 90th comment
So I have a feeling that going up the the 5 ft ramp at the skate park I go to (the trige) gives you a feeling of what it might feel like
5ft ramps are definitely a bit tall to learn how to drop in on, but if its the only ramp you have to learn them on, its still totally possible.
Yo remember me sorry I have been watching lately my skatepark been closed for like half a year
ahh dang thats a bummer! hope it opens back up soon
It actually did open back up guess you have the power👌
I used to scooter when I was in late middle school/ early high school in 2008. I was able to drop in from a big bank, to a 4 foot quarter pipe to eventually a 6 foot half pipe, I stopped in 2010, just got a new scooter a month ago and I am too afraid to even drop some big/steep banks now...
I could be misremembering but as a kid I think was so paranoid about the coping I kind of boneless style jumped in, possibly without touching the coping and then immediately pushed to stabilize... probably more dangerous ultimately lol.
This actually helps a lot. The first time i went down a quarter pipe i wiped out and i think it was because i wasn't straight and because my scooter had big wheels. But now i can do it! Thanks❤
Why am I watching this? I can drop in on a bowl
haha i catch myself doing that all the time on videos for tricks i already know haha. anyways thanks so much for watching.
Hi
Hey hey!!!
The only problem with m is I have a razor and I waxed it like a lot so when I put my scooter on the rail and I drop I immediately slid side ways and fell also I have trust issues in my self so I don’t want my back wheels to get hit

@@ChaseRost It Would Be Cool, But I Live In Latvia :/
I’m just simply scared to mess up cause I tried it and I failed, my scooter flew forward in my hands and I went down the ramp using my feet😅
Im 6ft 2...dropping in is terrifying... i feel off balance when i attempt...
you got this! try to bend your knees a bit to lower your center of gravity. might help you feel less high in the air. also start out small and then work your way up to bigger ramps. that should totally help.
@@ChaseRost yes, and pulling up the scooter to my foot and easing in.... its the leaning forward which is the most challenge ....and where I feel off balance... should I "aim" the scooter wheels for 1/2 way down the ramp?
@@ChaseRost Ive succeeded in dropping in now with no fear, but my back wheel keeps clipping the coping just slightly... do I need to lean in more, or just pull up the bars just slightly more... ?
