I need a lot more alone time than most and finally allowing myself it after years of trying to please others and have never been happier. Got my first solo trip in a few months and I can't wait - trips with friends or a partner are great but involve a lot of compromise. You can do whatever you want on your own, it's a beautiful and freeing feeling.
Totally agree, that’s sometimes why I stay to myself because I’ve seen too much hate and inhumanity. Remember to only have ppl around you who love, respect you and your feelings. No one who you feel will bring you further down or use your vulnerabilities to take advantage of you. Only ppl who give you joys, laughter and strength. And having toxic ppl around you is so unhealthy for you physically and mentally. Stay strong, positive and believe one day things will be better

I travel alone because I have no friends and for the most part, I am fine but there are also times I wish there was someone who shared the same interests as me so we could travel together. For example, I went to Japan and felt so alone, good company makes a big difference!

New York is a vibe, it’s a rough place energetically. I’m 2 hours away from NYC and I never want to go back again after years of going. Don’t give up solo travel… there are places to go that aren’t nearly as intense and safe alone.

Sounds so sad to be alone on your birthday. But wondering why you didn’t spend it with family. My worst birthday was when I had to self isolate because I was recovering from Covid. I agree. The first time in NYC is always intriguing. Especially as a first time solo traveler. But the more someone travels to NYC and gets used to the hectic city life that never sleeps. Then it'll get easier and it will feel more comfortable. And Julie just had her first solo travel to a big city. I understand that she felt uncertain and like someone's gonna rob her. But in the end of the day. Nothing happened and she arrived at home safely. With all her belongings in regard. I was scared and felt unsafe the first time I traveled solo to Egypt. And south Korea and Japan as a female . But it was all good. And I didn't get anythinh stolen or so. Now I like solo traveling. It is just to get out more of the comfort zone and experience what's on the other side of ones shell. The more she travels to NYC. And the big apple. The more she will start to enjoy her trips and feel more comfortable. And besides NYC is a Big city. And it is easy to become overwhelmed the first visit. There's just EXTREMELY MUCH TO SEE AND EXPLORE AND EXPERIENCE AND IT IS A HUB FOR CULTURE. So I totally understand. But I now love visiting NYC ❤.

Omg I understand how difficult is to travel alone! I went to New York and other places in the states with a few people and it was already not easy to visit 🙈 I think you would love some cities in Europe. I feel much safer there! (I live in Italy but I have been to other countries in Europe as well)
I have always felt same visiting America. And especially in NYC. NYC can be a big and scary city. And people should be aware of ones surroundings. But it is generally safe for solo travelers. I traveled solo once and nothing bad happened.

Omg I understand how difficult is to travel alone! I went to New York and other places in the states with a few people and it was already not easy to visit 🙈 I think you would love some cities in Europe. I feel much safer there! (I live in Italy but I have been to other countries in Europe as well)
I have always felt same visiting America. And especially in NYC. NYC can be a big and scary city. And people should be aware of ones surroundings. But it is generally safe for solo travelers. I traveled solo once and nothing bad happened.

For me it’s just annoying to hear the complaint but still buying the stuff knowing it’s a tourist trap 😂. Maybe it’s because she’s lived in Minnesota and Korea but she seems also like she’s never had an experience like in a city. She’s like oh they’re gonna rob me.
