I remember begging my mom to buy me this game, and ass soon as I started playing, I was super disappointed and afraid to tell my mom I didnt like it when she would walk in and see me not playing it.
My friend and I were 11 year-old Budokai and Tenkaichi addicts. We found this at EB Games (now gamestop) and brought it back to my house all excited. We played for about 5 min and started laughing because we realized why there was 8 price drop stickers on the case.
I played this game with my friend all the time, and boy howdy was it hot ass. Even with the strategy guide the moves felt clunky as hell. Also loved how a ps1 cover had a ps2 advertisement on the back of it

This was my first ever DBZ game. So many wonderful memories but I had no idea how to play as a 5 year old. I did a Kamehameha once and I was never able to repeat it.
I remember having this game. After you learn the combos and blast attacks, it can get pretty crazy lol also, the move where the Saiyans put up their yellow aura is a barrier for blast attacks. I can’t remember if it stops special moves, but it stops the regular ki blasts.
Yea when it comes to doing attacks in PS1 games it was crazy. For me the craziest was for a game called Battle Arena Toshinden. The inputs for the special moves were like putting in Cheat Codes 😂

I grew up playing the Dragon Ball games for the Super Nintendo. When I saw Ultimate Battle 22 graphics in magazines and the animated cutscenes I was really impressed! I guess nowdays not many people remember this game, but in the 90s when it was originally released this game was very popular.
Its crazy, i used to play Ultimate Battle 22 when it first came out with my little cousins. Lmao this was actually legit fun for it's time considering you grew up in PS1 era!My big bro worked all summer to get a special mod for his PS1 to play this as the only copies available at the time were played in Japanese version!
played this and final bout back in the day this was cool to watch wouldnt mind seeing more of this!! always a pleasure to see nano on the videos as well!
TAKE IT BACK DOTO! For its time Ultimate Battle 22 was awesome!! I remember I had it and another Dragonball Z game on original PS, and to play it there was a thing I had to stick in the back of the playstation, and I had to keep the disc lid open and put a spring in the back right of the disc drive so it would play them! I had all of that stuff, but I didn't have room on my memory card lol.
This was the first PlayStation video game I got when I moved in the states. Seeing 2 people I thoroughly enjoy watching play a game that’s nostalgic to me brings a tear to my eye. Love y’all, happy thanksgiving

You can play it and any other console up to PS3 on an android phone I'm just here to look to to see if it's worth downloading and it's not lol I got dbzbt3 it's still fire
There is a way to unlock all five secret characters in one cheat. You must watch the introdution screen, then when it says ULTIMATE BATTLE 22 press up,triangle, down, X, left L1,right,R1. You should here a jingle. Then you should see a differrent introdution screen. The screen now says ULTIMATE BATTLE 27 and Hercule(Mr. Satan),Gogeta,Supersaiyan 3 Goku,Kid Goku, and Master Roshi will be unlocked in all modes.
I LOVED this game as a kid, I had a "hacked" ps2 so my game wasnt legit, all the characters had odd names, like SSJ3 goku was called "Mega Goku" and SSJ2 gohan was "Super Gohan" Also try doing the inputs on a d-pad, I think this game came out before analogue's did for the ps1
I'm surprised they didn't know about the cheat code for the game that unlocked more characters. When I played this game with my bros as a kid, we always used that cheat code and yeah the tournament mode resulted in a lot of controller swapping.
It always pissed me off as a kid when DBZ games would just make every ki attack a little yellow ball, and I have to admit that I'm still not entirely over it 20 years later.
Grew up with the game. Number 1 childhood memory is this crappy game but i love it to death. Still remember hitting 15 billion buttons to do final explosion with Majin Vegeta. Good times all around.
My cousin got this at his 5th or 6th birthday party (whenever this game came out in the US) and we rushed to the living room to play it. This was the first game for both of us where we understood a game could be bad.
Played this game back in 2001 and there was only one positive I took from this game - the song in the credits. Ended up learning how to play that song about 6 years later when my dad bought me a keyboard.
Bro i've never watched a video of this channel. And when Goku won against Frieza I was celebrating like I've been watching this my whole life. Awesome! 😂
Man, Ultimate battle 22 is so bad but the energy in this video was incredible and made it a good watch. I honestly want to see the two of you run thru the arcade mode sharing a character, but I can't ask such a horrible task since it makes you fight every character. I still can't believe I owned this game for years and it was the one game that no matter how much it got scratched it ran perfectly like it wanted to haunt me.
This was first dbz game i play. At start screen hit: Up, Triangle, down, X, Left, L1, Right, R1. It will turn into ultimate battle 27 by adding in 5 playable characters to roster another video with rxtra characters please? my childhood right here
Had this game as a little kid and it’s the reason I grew up thinking I was terrible at fighting games because my 5 year old self couldn’t figure out how to use Specials lol pre-internet era was insane

I'll be honest, I had more fun playing Ultimate Battle 22 a few years ago than I did playing Dragon Ball FighterZ.... because at least UB22's roster (with the unlockables) wasn't stuffed with duplicate characters
Oh damn, playing DBZ: UB22 (actually 27 with all the character unlocks) Not sure if that's a "Let's fucking go!~" or a "That's a nope from me, dawg" Either way, still kinda cool, in a masochistic nostalgia sorta way XD Also: that ending clutch was hype

I remember begging my mom to buy me this game, and ass soon as I started playing, I was super disappointed and afraid to tell my mom I didnt like it when she would walk in and see me not playing it.
I love the slip of putting ass instead of as. It just helps quantify just how bad the game was to you

Right! I chose this sht over Budokai 1 thinking it was gonna be better & my kid self tried so hard to like it basically forcing myself

Lmao same here I randomly saw it in target like in 03 and I begged my grandma to get it because it was only 20. I was so upset when I played it
