Kaviyoor Ponnamma Passes Away : മലയാള സിനിമയിൽ ആറുപതിറ്റാണ്ടുകാലം നിറഞ്ഞുനിന്ന നടി കവിയൂര്‍ പൊന്നമ്മ അന്തരിച്ചു. 79 വയസായിരുന്നു. വാർധക്യ സഹജമായ അസുഖങ്ങളെ തുടർന്ന് ചി കിത്സയിലിരിക്കെ കൊച്ചിയിലെ സ്വകാര്യ ആശുപത്രിയിലായിരുന്നു അന്ത്യം. അമ്മ വേഷത്തിൽ പകരംവക്കാനില്ലാത്ത നടിയാണ് താനെന്ന് പലതവണ തെളിയിച്ച പൊന്നമ്മ എഴുന്നൂറിലധികം സിനിമകളിൽ അഭിനയിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. വടക്കൻ പറവൂരിലെ കരിമാളൂരിലെ വസതിയിൽ ജ്യേഷ്ഠനും കുടുംബത്തിനുമൊപ്പമാണ് കവിയൂർ പൊന്നമ്മ കഴിഞ്ഞുവന്നത്.
