Yet another reason to visit blackpool, it just gets better and better.
Where will it end? 😂👍
You clearly don't get out much
@@carradalebear4446 you clearly better watch your mouth.
@@carradalebear4446 what's your name mouthpiece? Or have the courts put you on restrictions for using social media?
@carradalebear4446 and again what is your name?
E.T. was the first ever Pirate VHS movie I ever saw on our brand new state of the art VHS player.
Somebody gave us their old betamax video and the local video store had betamax videos on hire, can't remember the first video we saw but there were some kids films, and various adult ones. We upgraded to our own vhs after a while, and blockbusters but have some classic ones on DVD now.
I remember we used to sneak videos into our home because we didn’t wank folk to know we had a video recorder in case the house got broken into.
It was a Mitsubishi and code £500. A fortune in the early eighties.
Im afraid on demand digital films that can be watched at home are what the younger generation are going . The film industry is moving to streaming formats ,even the marvel films are going to be put out on streaming platforms . This cinema will struggle as film audiences are still well below 2020 viewers and the lack of quality film releases is killing cinema theatres . Plus the price is ridiculous .
true, they do price themselves out too. I think people would go more often if it didnt cost an obscene amount of money. I went more often when odeon was £5 a ticket. These are £17 for an imax ticket here, so would only go if there was a really good movie out, which these days is rare to get 1 or 2 great ones a year.
Looks pritty sick to be honest, took its time but looks amazing!! Thanks for taking us along!! Great video as always 😊
Thanks for watching!
@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpoolwas the film any good tho ?
@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpoolso was this like their first day fully open or was it like an open day for you RUclipsrs and promoters in Blackpool???
Get a headache reading all this. Hardly makes sense!
Heading to Blackpool in July for a few days will definitely pay a visit looks good cheers Stephen 👍
Have fun
I took a picture from when it was a car park up to finishing date. All in same location.
Where did the time go.
Went in had a look.
Looks amazing.
Will soon book for dune 2
Very nice walkon, but in the end its all been done before and gone. I've got a photo of my wife in place of that girl in that pulp fiction pose, omg it's nice .
Four minutes in, and three totally irrelevent adverts, so far! - You-tube are ruining everything!
I didn't get one this time
For years cinemas have been closing down due to reports people are not visiting them so why are they still charging so much.
they are probably trying to re-coop all their costs while its still new. I'll wait a few months when its died down and they've slashed the prices to get customers coming. Dont know how they will stay afloat and be any different from odeon blackpool, besides having no free car park and 1 bigger screen which charges you triple the price.
£8.50 for popcorn ????? No thanks
Can't be
looks an amazing place Stephen, thanks for the video😊😊
Thank you Stephen looks amazing will definitely be going next time in Blackpool ❤
IMAX is a great process Unfortunately the cinema itself is the usual boring and bland multiplex, soulless and uninviting Gone are the days of enjoying the experience of a visit to the cinema!
The reason why he wasn't allowed to film in the screen is because it's *terrible*. You get about 10cm more legroom than you do on a plane. The seats don't recline, and there's a single, shared cupholder and tray alternating between the seats. A thoroughly uncomfortable experience, I don't know what they were thinking.
Really? thats very disappointing. Hows the actual IMAX screen?
Now all we need is some decent films getting made. here's hoping!
Fantastic place stephen nice investment into Blackpool shame about wilkos and I heard showtown looks amazing too and the backlot diner
That Eyesore is detrimental to Blackpool's tradition. There will be no need for Cinema's soon. Many are closing, all over the Country.
Premier was last night, and I was supposed to go, but I ended up having to pick up my mother from Blackpool Victoria and missed it. Anyway, I checked it out today and was shown around. The Imax projector cost £3.000.000 90k of which was tax apparently.
Wowsers!
Looks like a great place to visit. You say we can book viewing parties and watch any film? In that case it's Debbie does Dallas on the imax 😅
VUE Cinema Cleveleys cheaper only £5, charging £13 IMAX Blackpool.
its £16 for an adult imax ticket, plus you also have to pay for parking, whereas vue cleveleys has free parking and everything £5, odeon blackpool was the same and they went under so dont know how this will stay financially successful long term
It'll be bankrupt in a year if they keep up charging those kinds of prices, customers werent coming to odeon which was £5 (and that had free parking and a mcdonalds outside).
Hi Stephen. The new cinema looks fantastic. I went to a cinema here in Berlin last week to see the movie Dune 2. Watched it in English they also showed it in German . It was very loud. It’s a big cinema that I went too with 7 cinemas but not as big as the one in Blackpool. 👍❤️🥰
Thats a huge IMAX cinema - looks great - going to have to check it out - thanks for sharing Stephen
Now there’s more to do, besides getting wasted, in the new and improved Blackpool. 😊
Not the cheapest to be fair! £11 to see Dune 2 today. On the plus side, I had the entire screen to myself🤣. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit though, really isn't anything special and vue is cheaper with better seats.
Thanks Stephen. A nice new cinema, not bad looking for a modern building. The only thing that spoils these places are the prices, food and drink etc. But nice for an occasional visit.
Looks brilliant inside. I shall go to the new cinema next time l’m in Blackpool. Thanks for showing Stephen 👍🏻😀☀️ 🎥
Hope you enjoy Shirley.
Premier taxi drivers pay 500 a week thats bloody scandalous
Definitely sold that Stephen, want to go now
nice building ,not been to a cinema for years
Great video Steven. Oddly, this morning, I watched a RUclips vid about an Oz IMAX...who guided the viewer through the digital delivery and projection of..Dune II.
The contrast between the Winter Gardens and the new theatre is fascinating. I wonder what patrons of the old Winter Gardens would think of a vist to Blackpool's new IMAX ?
Where would be the best place to park for wheelchair access and is the cinema accommodating for access?
Vibrating seats may not be suitable for all, usually there is an off switch.
The abc was good the independent cinemas were always better value
Looks amazing. I remember visiting the 1st IMAX cinema in Bradford when it opened in 1983. Absolutely out of this world experience at that time the sound was phenomenal, you didn't just hear it, you felt it xx
Yeah, the audio was thumping! I must remember to visit Whitby again in the summer.
That would be lovely ❤
Looks like they've cleaned all the moss on the face of the New Look building next door also. Thought they were going to overlook that detail. Nice to see the area looking all smart.
So wot was wrong with the Odeon oh silly me free parking lol
It's a nice cinema, but who is it aimed at? It's a bit pricy.
Fantastic Video Steve That IMax Theater is Great A Very Nice Addition To The New Era Of Blackpool😊 Have Great Night😊
Great vlog Stephen, looks lovely inside the cinema. Thanks for showing us around , 😊x
My pleasure 😊
I did read that the new IMAX cinema 🎥 has reactive seats that move with the movies. It does look fab 👌
It definitely added to the experience!
This is great of course, but i'm aware of the changing language where it was originally billed as the biggest imax screen in the country and before opening was downgraded to "one of the biggest in the north west". So either the original announcements were nonsense, or much bigger screens have since been launched or this screen was downgraded in size during construction. Anyone know which one it is?
I wasn’t really sure myself.
Bit posh for Blackpool 😳
Excellent video Stephen, it sounds as if it's an interactive cinema complex what with the vibrating seats. Great that you have a bar and place to eat and relax either before or after your film.😊😊😊
It looks r3allh ice inside the backalot cinema the imax looks great and the diner looks really fancy Stephen 😊
❤thats nice stephen
I saw Dune 2 and it was rather slow i thought.Irakkus is ment to orbit the star Canopus which by a coincidence I last saw from a cinema roof in Oman about 4 years ago.Find Sirius and keep looking down at an angle and you'll come to Canopus but in England, indeed most of Europe, you'll come to the horizon first!
Hope you took your video camera in so we can watch the film at home lol
16 ticket😢
Great video, we've not long been to Blackpool to watch Marc Almond live at Winter Gardens in the Empress Ballroom! That was the carpark we used and saw this cinema from the outside! Looks awesome, great video 👍
That car park will be history when they build another hotel on it. That’s the plan, anyway.
From what you said about the sound it has put me off i'm sure it would deafen me.
ABSOLUTELY LOVED THAT GUITAR 🎸 INTRO IM LISTENING TO NEW JUDAS PRIEST SINGLE INVINCIBLE 🛡️ SHIELD AWESOME NICE SHINY NEW CINEMA LOVELY JUBERLY FROM DAVID IN CROMER 👀🌊🛡️🎸
who on earth thought up the name "Backlot" ? Absolutely awful. Why didn't they just call it "Blackpool iMax" ? Nice inside though.
They should have called it Backshot. 😊
I think the name is rather fitting, Backlot being the area behind a movie studio used for shooting outdoor scenes.
@@martinwebb1681 ok but it doesn't roll off the tongue well , which the name should.
@@Tom_Roberts it's round the back of the Houndshill shopping centre so it's kind of appropriate.
@@JohnHughes2002 A venue has to have a catchy name. It's basic marketing. Look at the other names that got i t right - e.g. Ma Kellys, and all the other clubs. You can't make excuses - it's just so wrong. Maybe they should have called it "Backwater" to go along with their backward thinking.
morning stephen just caught up on everthing we were in blackpool just last week there we were on the look out for you but could not see you anywhere lol lol we stayed at haven last week at marton mere but the internet signal was so poor we are back down on 29th april so fingers crossed we bump in to u got a wee prezzie for you and would love to hand it to you hope to see you soon
They should build the Vue in Squires Gate near Morrisons.
The last movie I saw, at the Odeon, is being shown on Channel 4, tonight. Top Gun Maverick.
It's all kicking off on Arrakis... (Fremen and Harkonen troops have a massive fight outside Ma Kelly's.)
much prefer the rendezvous bond street back in the day 1/6 pence for a proper film .
Excellent video Stephen thankyou ❤❤❤
Thanks for the look around the Backlot Cenima Steve. We going to see Oppenheimer there today. We went to see Dune in Cleveleys on Monday. That Vue Cinema is in a great location just right beside the sea. Had a lovely lalk on the sea front before the film. The Lake District mountains were in view, fantastic! But it is great that Blackpool now have a cinema in a central location and even better to have an Imax. Xxx
I think my very first film watched in cinema was E.T when really young & of course I cried when he went home.
Will definitely visit this cinema when in Blackpool next visit
Never heard of imax till now to be fair. Tell you what they finished of this project quite fast i have to say makes a pleasant change. Might have to make a packed lunch and go down. Much love stephen. Tbf ive never heard of dune niether so havent seen part 1 yet needless to type. But yes its all change here in blackpool.
Not seen a film at pics for donkeys yrs ..bit expensive 😅
I've been waiting for it to open thanks for letting us know I'm 10 minutes away from the IMAX
IMAX kicking off in Blackpool. Looking forward to going there in June. Thanks Stephen ❤
Looks so good will have to go 😊
You should!
@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool yep glad you enjoyed 😊
Hi Stephen thank you for another great video as always oh wow how lovely is that very posh will have to give it a go when I next v
Come to Blackpool have a great day xx
Hi Steven looks amazing will try and visit soon thx for sharing 👍
Way overpriced
i agree, £16 (plus another useless £1 booking fee) + paying for car park. Thats £20 for 1 person before you've even ordered any food/drinks. The vue IMAX printworks in manchester is bigger with reclining seats and is cheaper.. Or just go to vue cleveleys for £5. They are not gonna last long charging these prices.
I went to this cinema today to watch Ghostbusters it was really good
Fabulous video Stephen
We will have to take a look ourselves
Great to see investment in Blackpool👍
There’s plenty more going on…all takes time but definitely things are on the up
Thanks Stephen for another great video 😊
👍👍💥💥💥👍👍
Thanks for your video 👋 👍 🇬🇧
Looks boss inside 😊😊😊😊
Has the odeon closed? It was quite new when I was there in 2007. Time fly's!
It closed last year.
I didn't realise Blackpool had no cinema - that's outrageous! Sounds like you'll be goinjg back to this new one...
It did and there is also one in Cleveleys , the odeon in Blackpool only close the other year
Hi Stephen loved the video how exciting a new cinema will definitely check it ❤
Thanks Janet.
Great video and what a great venue.🎉😊
looks great will have a look when i come next week xxx
Hi Stephen
Looks amazing
Does he not work for a living
Who’s ‘he’?
Yes, I hoped you would go.🎉
How much?!!
Another liemax!
Looks awesome Steven thanks for sharing
A big plus for Blackpool.😉
I can never enjoy going to the cinema. Hate the sound of munching, especially from popcorn, rustling of bags, people drinking through straws, whispering, phone noises. Makes for a terrible experience.
There’s no way you’ll hear munching in this IMAX. The audio is LOUD!
Oh looks fantastic x
see cinema backlot
Do they not have a special opening
They did the evening before.
how much tickets steven
I didn’t pay, but I think it was about £15
The trolls coming out to play again, it's fairly obvious why they can't use their real names.
End up in prison. Too many snowflakes on the internet like you crying. Can't believe you've made a post about it lol
Too many sensitive people like you on social media
@user-uc6vs9wf5b too many wrong uns like you on social media more like what is your real name?
@@carradalebear4446 you would have a shaky leg when I was stood in front of you.
I'm not a vicar
Does it have recliner seats like the printworks cinema does
Not sure if they reclined, but they are very comfortable with lots of leg room.
@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool how much does it cost to watch a film there
@@rachellunn4843 I didn’t pay, but I believe it would have been £15
@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool ok thanks
June?
Dune Part 2
Don’t rely on the subtitles!!!
thanks Stephen for another great video
A big white elephant
Billy No Mates Stephen wearing a flash mack at the new cinema in Blackpool! Surprised they let you in Stephen!
You sound nice 🤪
Who's holding the camera when he's sat on the couch?
Look who’s talking. A keyboard warrior in their mother’s back bedroom.
