@TruckMaster Thanks for this video content. I’m a 30+ year journeyman diesel mechanic. Bought my first ever diesel powered truck 3 years ago, an L5P, and am currently waiting for the warranty to expire. I paid for an extended warranty when I made the purchase. I’ve been dreading the day I get the derate message due to emissions, I know it’s coming, and have been looking for a kit, being very unsure of which product to trust. And even though you really didn’t touch on the L5P much in this video, the company you interviewed does service this engine. And I know, from watching g your videos, you wouldn’t necessarily have interviewed this company if you thought their product was junk. So it looks like I’ll be saving some money to make a purchase in the future and spending a weekend doing some work. Thanks again sir.
You wanna hear some bad luck? I lost all my rifles AND DPF/EGR/SCR in the same boating accident. ATF and EPA are going to be super bummed but what can I do? Boating can be dangerous.
I have a 2018 2500 ram,six speed standard. And its totally not deleted 😏 i started a banks conversion intake last night, gonna finish that 2day. Next on the list, fix my abs pump.
My truck came with a H&S mini max and JAMO exhaust. 1yr later. Lol got EzLynk and custon tune I will say. In order to change from mini max to something else. You have to put Back the stock tune first or else the custom file will fail
When I was in college taking a class in Internal Combustion engine design, we were learning about emissions and we learned that diesel engines were so much leaner than gas engines that they need almost no emissions control equipment. At that time, 1998, diesels were exempt from emissions testing in most jurisdictions.
Can't wait for the 2024 upgrade tunes to come out since gm switched the CPU to a global b smart system along with that would like to see the updated Cummins tunes for 2022 and 2023
No one complains about commercial and private plane emissions, which completely obliterate combustion road vehicles by comparison, but hey, call it progress
Can't wait for the video on the L5P. I am really considering this but need to do more research on the installation side. I would hate to screw it up. Thanks for making this video.
Any update on the l5p video. I’ve got a 2020 and I am very interested in some more info on this. I am a strong believer in the reliability improvement. Do you know what kind of mpg difference you get on a deleted l5p?
I’m interested as well. I just bought a 19 3500 HC 6.6. And A friend of a friend owns a big diesel shop near me (Michigan) and says it costs 10 grand to do full delete egr included. Also said getting the parts is hard, have to go thru Canada or Mexico and can’t do the install in his shop.
I started following truck master a few years ago and was ready for a full EGR delete and a in-tank diesel pump (with water separator) and larger cold air intake install on lly 6.6 when Diesel Brothers got hit by EPA. Needless to say almost all aftermarket parts distributors dried up. Nothing got done to the truck.
Im all for deleting diesel trucks and i would argue that it’s better for the environment in the long run, with good tunes diesels run pretty clean, your going to gain mpg’s which means burning less fuel, burning less fuel = better for the environment, ive been all over the country and never had issues with being pulled over for noise or smoke, people who drive around like crazy and roll coal at each stop light will end up ruining a good thing for all of us
@@Lonewolf23-26, awesome! You should do some videos on your 7.3L ford and the 5.9L cummins. I’m thinking of starting up a channel on stuff i do to my 7.3L and eventually on my LB7 chevy when i begin restoring it.
Making a video shining the spot light on it is sure gonna help the diesel community lol. Tho of course this is the channel that conflicted itself creating a blue line theme truck.
I appreciate u taking the time to do this video. If u listen to the diesel podcast at all when they get Corey Willis on, he always says about joe blow 9000 in Canada saying there shitty tunes so people don’t buy them. Me personally he acts like no one knows how to tune or tune/ delete a truck other then him. I trust these guys ur saying about and I’ll be getting a kit for my 2016 6.7 powerstroke. A lot of the guys here in the US say there’s no need to delete no more guys, the regen so fast. Every single damn person I know that had emissions on tuning ending up with dpf problems. Eventually just lead to a delete. Now there truck runs way better and no more clogged dpf
I've been casually shopping for newer diesel truck for a little while now. Won't lie, these emission systems have me pretty worried. These trucks cost a whole lot of money but offer fairly poor reliability when equipped with the emission systems. Not to mention a lot worse fuel efficiency. I've been hoping to find one already deleted, but not likely to find one from a dealer.
I had a 2007 lbz that only had a bulldog tuner, it always smoked like a Freight train, til I straight piped it. Then it would only smoke on cold startups in -20 weather til it got warmed up. But my 22ram 5500 is a gutless wonder with no power and 4-5mpg
@@TheIamdevin Tuning is available, VSE is making turbos already, I doubt it’ll be more than a year or two. I’m also not ordering my truck until I can drive it straight from the dealership to a shop to get it deleted.
So here’s a very important question that needs to be asked for those with PLUG IN emmisions inspections- Does ‘deleting’ the systems in the computer completely remove them, meaning a code wouldn’t even be possible? Or do these systems forever say ‘NOT READY’? I had a tune once years ago that ‘deleted’ a sensor, turns out it made it forever register as NOT READY which is a HUGE difference for a plug in and completely defeated the problem I was trying to resolve.
Thanks man I am hoping this will be very helpful to me. As I have replaced my injectors glow plugs new new this and that. And my truck still goes into limp mode. So frickin frustrated.
Good stuff! I have an ‘07 6.0 powerstroke. Got it studded and got the SCT Bullydog with a few custom tunes. Cold air intake, blue spring, coolant filter. Can’t wait to put my delete pipe on. Just trying to get information on my egr and this video helped a lot. Other than that, my diesel drives amazing with hot street tune. Performs normal when light on the pedal but lights up when I step hard! 😆
I have the same engine and same mods/upgrades except I have the SCT tuner and run a straight pipe. I have a slightly noticeable slip going from 5th to 6th, also developing a minor, but irritating rear main seal leak… a few drops a day when hot, otherwise insignificant at this point. Do you backflush your coolant system? I have pulled out a lot of rust and crap every time I backflush my truck (2x a year). I’m at 242,000 and after watching some of these videos, I may keep it. I have a 2022 Ram 2500 with 50 miles on it lined up to buy, I’m really hesitant now. They want 61k for the truck and it’s basically brand new… I’m in a bind trying to figure out which way to go
One of the biggest things I’ve found is that your tuner needs to not just dump fuel in your truck. I had my truck tuned by a shop that refuses to do “smoke tunes”. My LLY runs amazing and only smokes if i romp on it. I hate seeing peoples trucks that just spew smoke when your just casually taking off from a light. Nobody wants to breath that crap in. Just don’t be a d*** and start being considerate of others around you.
Why not hallow out the DPF and then disable it or plug off the egr cooler so the units be on the truck, but just going along for the ride! removing completely , one day emission inspections will be mandatory every yr and they will have to be on.
Just now I've watched this one time through I watch pretty much all of truckmasters stuff and considering DPF delete needed for LMM but anyway I did go to the website for diesel dudes but I'm not been able to go through all the content what I can say is that hearing the words of the person from that company especially at the end about understanding the need of the vehicle either to make money directly or just to be able to get it back right and running and working to go get your kids and dependability need it was very cool his just demeanor and attitude and approach was awesome and build a lot of trust and understanding so I am definitely going to go through that site and I am very much interested in what they have there and is practicality is straightforwardness was really refreshing really cool and appreciated a great deal thanks for the video and thanks for the linking and nobody wants to say or be implicated in anything going on so let's just say I'm going to look at the website for the fun and enjoyment entertainment of it but the the words of the guy talking in his demeanor in which he delivered does not sound like BS it sounds like a person really into this and giving you the pluses and the minuses and the ups and the downs and telling you hey make your own decision that's exactly what you know an independent sentient grown up guy in my case you know really wants
Choice: Leave the emissions on, Burn more fuel to get lower emissions (tell me the sense in that) get shitty fuel economy and reduced drivetrain life OR burn less fuel for the same amount of work, which equates to less emissions overall..Hmmm seems like an easy choice.
I believe that federal emissions have gone crazy and after the wrong people. I was behind a Pittsburgh (Pa) city bus, the exhaust was thick black smoke! Yes, the steel city who’s air was gray decades ago due to the steel, coal etc mills. And yes it’s much cleaner now due to the decline of coal production. Thankfully the bus’ exhaust tip was up over the body so I didn’t get into my cab. All I could think was the Federal government would come after “poor old Joe” instead of local government, 🤦🏻♂️!
Great video Josh. Looking back at a video you posted a few years ago, you did not recommend the blocker plate. Has this changed your opinion on that video that you made? Looking for some weight, loss options, and honestly your video that you did for the weight loss on the vehicle that was going to be use for off Roading was very informative.
What if you already have efi live and the original tuner locked the ecm and they aren't tuning anymore so they won't unlock the ecm...? Can the original ecm still be unlocked or do you have to buy a new ecm
Yes. Need it. The only local shop I have a relationship with is asking 10k for L5P delete (egr included). I trust that the work will be A1 but still a hard pill to swallow

Just finished head gaskets on my LLY. Wish I would have watched this a month ago.... I'm in Canada and none of my parts places could source me an EGR delete.
If my emission system fails it will cost me 10k canadian to get my truck running. A co worker just has his fixed. 😉. It runs much better than mine now. Better fuel mileage , cooler EGT s .
Love this. Been waiting for tunes for my 22 ram. So far nothing worth buying yet. I plan on leaving the EGR on so that way if I need to Smog i can just replace the exhaust with the dpf.
Do you know that the EGR VALVE ROUTES THE EXHAUST GAS BACK THROUGH YOUR INTAKE MANIFOLD. Thus gumming up your turbo and valves, pistons, oil in the pan, every thing!!!
Hey bud don't know if you will answer but I hope so. Your video's rock man so informative and fun at the same time! I think as i have time i will watch all of them. I am in the middle of negotiating a 2015. Do you think a lift pump is good enough to avoid cp4 failure? "CP4 Catastrophe" I was negotiating for the cp3 to be installed before I pick up the truck by a gm dealer. It is through family that owns multiple dealers up here in Quebec. Either way keep up the killer video's man you are the DURAMAX King!!!
Here’s my take on these emissions systems. Yes I think the EPA should have a say in this, yes I want to breath clean air. I’ve been looking at this for a while because I’m about to buy a heavy duty diesel pickup to haul construction equipment. EPA involvement? Yes they should set a standard for the emissions these trucks put out but on the other side I think EPA should allow the aftermarket companies to do anything they want as long as they meet that standard. My take, seeing how well the aftermarket improves things for better performance, is they’ll go beyond the standard the EPA would set with even cleaner performance, more horsepower and fuel mileage as well. I read an article in the business news years ago that was an interview with the previous GM CEO and they were talking to him about production cost and one of the things he brought up was the EPA forcing them to put catalytic converters on cars, trucks, and SUV’s and this adding to the cost of producing vehicles. He said they could actually make them run cleaner without catalytic converters. This is where the EPA needs to back off. Set a standard for every type of vehicle and let the aftermarket loose. They’ll do some incredible stuff if they are allowed to.
Emissions are important and agree the EPA should have a say in it. Limp mode is the biggest issue I have with these systems. I recently had DEF injector failure on my 3500 and got the x miles to limp mode message. Limiting my vehicle to 5mph and x amount of miles is a dangerous situation for me and my family. There are many remote camping areas where there isn't a dealer within 150miles, and trying to drive 5mph on any road is ridiculous. If these systems were bulletproof and the limitation was something like 55mph when there happens to be a component failure, I would feel differently about the topic.

Mine fell off
🤫
Did the whole front fall off?
Mysteriously both my duramax and my wife's cummins did the same thing... it's the damndist thing and I can't figure it out how that happened
Mine getting loose also 😅
Mine is about to fall off too 😂
Can't wait for the 2024 upgrade tunes to come out since gm switched the CPU to a global b smart system along with that would like to see the updated Cummins tunes for 2022 and 2023
Nice job. Can't wait for the more detailed L5P stuff!
No one complains about commercial and private plane emissions, which completely obliterate combustion road vehicles by comparison, but hey, call it progress
Hey no one can afford to fly I'm hardly anymore now so don't worry about it
Can't wait for the video on the L5P.
Im also waiting for the l5p... just bought a 2019 and want to get rid of all this crap
This is why i enjoy living in Alberta Canada 🇨🇦 because here we can do full deletes and no worries about anything
Here in the USA we dont have a dictator we're free and will do it anyway
Yeah we still do it, with guns😂❤
Is this the botshit section? I am looking for the botshit section.
And you probably have much better resale value because you left it alone
dude much appreciated, cant wait to see how the 3.0 comes out
A delete for the LM2 would be amazing.
I know of two duramax 3.0 that are deleted in my area. It’s sick!!
@@parkerduet7883 did they share the good news with you?
Here in Australia if you have a wastegate plumed to atmosphere the fine if caught is 10-12k per cylinder
That’s ridiculous
Yeah it is and no louder then 96db
Australia can vent my nuts to atmosphere.
Australia is a prison run by Karens.
Im all for deleting diesel trucks and i would argue that it’s better for the environment in the long run, with good tunes diesels run pretty clean, your going to gain mpg’s which means burning less fuel, burning less fuel = better for the environment, ive been all over the country and never had issues with being pulled over for noise or smoke, people who drive around like crazy and roll coal at each stop light will end up ruining a good thing for all of us
Can’t delete any emissions if it never came with it in the first place. 7.3L and 6.6L LB7 for life!
Yes sir 👍
Same here. 2001 Dodge 2500 Cummins. No emissions at all. I freakin love it.
@@stephenwright6234, nice. Screw these emissions law bullshit.
With you fellers I love my 5.9 and enjoying working on the 7.3 I picked up as well!
@@Lonewolf23-26, awesome! You should do some videos on your 7.3L ford and the 5.9L cummins. I’m thinking of starting up a channel on stuff i do to my 7.3L and eventually on my LB7 chevy when i begin restoring it.
Hello Josh and Melanie. Wow you've got balls to talk about this since you'd gotten in a little trouble. Hopefully this video will stay up.
I think something is about to fall off my L5P here in a few weeks it’s a shame.
😂
They just don't make them like they used to 😂
it's worth it. I've had my '19 L5P tuned and deleted for 60k miles at this point and it doesn't skip a beat.
Excellent info, I’ll be calling them tomorrow to see if they can help me with an MM3 tuner for my Cummins 💪🔥💪
Nice 👍 good luck with everything
You know good Guy who does them. He does them now they can do everything in-house.
Good info …and content. I rebuilt my LB7 (wagler) and it didn’t come with emissions but good for the peeps with newer trucks. 👍
Us LB7 folks got a little head start
Making a video shining the spot light on it is sure gonna help the diesel community lol. Tho of course this is the channel that conflicted itself creating a blue line theme truck.
I get that same conflicted feeling from a lot of the RUclips videos now days
So many other and better companies to buy from.
My kit comes in today from these guy. Chose them because I actually talked with someone on the phone before I purchased.
That’s why you remove that BS. Fu(k the EPA.
Does the people know that the EPA ACTIONS COST THE CUSTOMER AN EXTRA $10,000.00 For your Truck!!
I had a 2007 lbz that only had a bulldog tuner, it always smoked like a Freight train, til I straight piped it. Then it would only smoke on cold startups in -20 weather til it got warmed up. But my 22ram 5500 is a gutless wonder with no power and 4-5mpg
Looking forward to seeing a kit for the LZ0 Duramax!
Yes!!!!
You'll be waiting a long time lol
@@TheIamdevin Tuning is available, VSE is making turbos already, I doubt it’ll be more than a year or two. I’m also not ordering my truck until I can drive it straight from the dealership to a shop to get it deleted.
@@yomamasbeefcurtains yes they have lm2 tuning that is compliant, your missing 2 key features 1.lzo tuning and 2. Delete tuning lol
Thank u . Much for the info . The government dont want use to delete them . But it’s ok for government vehicles to be deleted out of factory ..
Why not make the dpf pipe replacement pipe look like the stock one?
Good thing I have a 06 Dodge Ram 5.9 Diesel I'm straight piped
Nice job. Can't wait for the more detailed L5P stuff!. Nice job. Can't wait for the more detailed L5P stuff!.
My 2023 f350 is deleted and tuned it’s still simple and easy. Gotta do it yourself these days but it’s a day of work anyways
If you choose to buy, use an alias. Customer lists are often turned over to EPA in the event of an investigation.
Thanks man I am hoping this will be very helpful to me. As I have replaced my injectors glow plugs new new this and that. And my truck still goes into limp mode. So frickin frustrated.
Yes you can. Remember delete does not necessarily mean removing equipment.
I have a 2004 duramax that i wanna get more power out of it through tuning what would you suggest?
Agreed 100%, tunes should be for efficiency and power. Shooting soot out of your exhaust is dumb and makes it hard on the rest of the community.
@@A2ZREY my truck was tuned by diesels unlimited in md
Is it okay for me to be a douchebag and just not have a diesel?
If not, figure out which one of your diesels you want me to drive, I reckon.
Why not hallow out the DPF and then disable it or plug off the egr cooler so the units be on the truck, but just going along for the ride! removing completely , one day emission inspections will be mandatory every yr and they will have to be on.
There used to be a diesel shops in a state that begins with a U that you could get this done no problem.
Thank u so much for ur time and effort in making this informational video. It answered every question I had.
Been using DD stuff for a minute now good stuff
Haven’t used they’re tunes I did use a local shop in TX that did great on my 21 Ram
Is it near Fort Worth? Need to get my 20 ram done.
@@drewjames8594you find it? I’m in Fort Worth also

My lmm wouldn’t be at 513k if it wasn’t missing a few components
At the 23:40 mark that is one hella good looking Ford! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Peasant edition 😂
Choice: Leave the emissions on, Burn more fuel to get lower emissions (tell me the sense in that) get shitty fuel economy and reduced drivetrain life OR burn less fuel for the same amount of work, which equates to less emissions overall..Hmmm seems like an easy choice.
I need this 3.0 duramax deleted so bad 1k miles 10 gallons with a 29ft camper doing 65 on cruise control
I know some tuning companies will only send stuff to certified dealers now rather than allowing you to buy them directly
Great video, looking at getting into a L5P but really worried about the EPA stuff
What if you already have efi live and the original tuner locked the ecm and they aren't tuning anymore so they won't unlock the ecm...? Can the original ecm still be unlocked or do you have to buy a new ecm
They can typically be unlocked with a bench harness.
Bring on the L5P information, good job guys THANKS KEEP UP THE GOOD FIGHT!!!
Yes. Need it. The only local shop I have a relationship with is asking 10k for L5P delete (egr included). I trust that the work will be A1 but still a hard pill to swallow
LB7 with federal emissions FTW! 🤘😎🤘
Is it possible to just hollow out the DPF pipe So that it looks completely stock in case of random inspections
All you have to do is be within 30 feet of the truck when it's running to know its deleted based on sound and smell
My buddy cut his dpf open at one end and drilled 3/4 inch holes through it. It didn't change the sound that much.
I guess I’m headed to retinitis to look for Red( he is know to be the man that can get things.
I need a tuner for a 2002 5.9 with 4” pipe with resonator. Use it for towing a 4horse gooseneck with living quarters.(15700) total pounds ( full of everything. I want to replace the east edge. I am leaving the 08 3500 stock for now.
I think the Archoil will clean the DPF and EGR System all the diesel pickup trucks.
I used it in mine and it made a lot of difference. Instantly went to much longer lengths between regens
@@fewworddotrick I know. I like to keep the dpf or something else like that.
Sure would be nice after you spend a certain amount on repairs it would be legal to delete mine has had issues the last three trips been on
Love this video and it was helpful to me anyway. I've heard the EF live was best for the duramax. I am going to look into getting one of these for my 08 LMM. Thanks
My truck identifies as a heavy smoker. So what else could I do? My 07, 6.6 duromax has right, too, ya know.
My 2019 F350 6.7 after my delete I get a Reduce Engine Power on my dash with a P0234 code. Comes up every 2 months.
Ordered 💪
Happy florida isnt super harsh on the subject.
Why should I promote your channel? You say you respond to your customers but that’s not true! I’ve emailed you a couple of times and messaged you and I have never heard back from you! I’ve heard from several people that you don’t respond. You seem like a great guy, and I’m very grateful for your sacrifice to our country. I’m just not happy with your responses or lack of. Thank you
You don’t need to promote my channel, but either way I get literally hundreds of emails a day it’s tough to stay on top of that. I would need a full time call center to stay on top of questions, I’m just a guy with a small garage there is no way to stay on top of that. Sorry you are disappointed
If DEF is coded out with a tune then do you leave the tank empty or just fill it with water?
I wonder if they’re working on the 3.0 duramax.
These guys are not immune to the EPA being in Canada. Just ask Flo-Pro.
Interesting they make a kit for a sprinter. Just sold mine but will keep my tuned and deleted LBZ forever.
Do you need to install the tune first. Before you start doing the weight loss
Don't get it I burn diesel 2x times to burn soot, ridiculous these laws are made by people who don't know physics and engineering.
It's nothing to do with the environment and everything to do with creating a dystopian future.
The world is run by fools.
Laws=jew'd
I plan on leaving the EGR on so that way if I need to
Smog i can just replace the exhaust with the dpf.
There is great options for them they are just expensive, not L5P expensive but expensive
You just need a 19-21 ecm cloned to your current ecm
Awesome info, can't wait for the L5P video to drop.
Is it possible to reverse the delete back to stock later if needed?
Yes 👍
