Wonderful job, and great that you are wearing Don's white outfit that he wore in 1976 ( you can see him wearing it on the Shirley McLaine clip here on You Tube) . Really well done, such a tricky song as it is...I read where Ellis said the band even found this difficult to do on Tears of Joy when they did it live in San Francisco in 1971, so kudos to you and the band for a faithful and soulful rendition of this classic.

Thank you for your kind words! Yes, the composition was quite challenging...but rewarding as well! Looking forward to the next!

Not sure whether to congratulate you on a good performance or three good performances. Maybe that's appropriate for Don Ellis.

Where was this music purchased from? Is this the original version or was it arranged by someone else?

This is the original version of Ellis' composition and his entire collection was donated to UCLA. It's held within the archives of the Ethnomusicology Department and I was granted special access when I gave the lecture on StrawBerry Soup and its inner workings.

Do you where I could get my hands on a version that is exactly like the original?

That is a tough question...the original version is housed at the UCLA archive department, which can be viewed by calling and setting up an appointment. When in doubt, transcribe it!
