- Steve Jr demos a very unique and cool Remo drum kit, marrying World hand percussion and the classic drum kit. An interesting setup from the 90's, and they work perfectly for drummers looking to play hand percussion in a drum set format!

If this kit, money, and I are ever in the same place and time...
This kit is so bizarre and I love it!
I remember these. Never seen them in the wild.
I think they sound incredible! I got to play this snare a long time ago and it was the exact pop that I love! If I had the coin I would buy these!
😎👍Great demo Steve...
They look like awhole lotta fun to play!
Great playing Steve, fascinating set, never seen one in person.
To bad Mr. Remo is no longer with us
Very organic sounding drum.. Great
I wonder how it would sound without the reso heads
Jeff Ballard will love this kit.
Sounds great!
Wow those are amazing
pretty cool I would like to see Steve Smith play on that
Would love to hear the Toms single-headed or maybe with cutouts in the resonator. . .
One of the complaints about these drums' snare was you can't get a cross-stick click for obvious reasons. However I discovered that if you play a djembe with mallets using the cross stick technique but with the felt beater on the head and the shoulder of the stick striking its edge, you can get a fairly decent cross-stick click. I always wondered if this technique will work on this snare drum.
Possible to use a groove wedge?
@@menriquez89 that could certainly work and might give the drum a cool style factor. But that's extra equipment you have to buy.
@@viktormuerte LOL, We certainly like to look for problems to spend money on, don’t we? Gear head syndrome
Remo Acousticon shells sound really really good. They should have been played a whole lot more than they were...but Remo made poor choices in hardware quality and the drums were never really pro quality. These Mondo drums sound great and are a really fun idea!
Awesome man....
Did anyone ever buy these? 😅
Wow
I want one !!
These are Natural goat skins, right ? Sound really great If you can handle the humidity issue that might occur in certain places. Thank you !
Nope. They are remo synthetic heads. The same plastic mondo heads they put on their djembes and tubanos.
@@elliotbeck3236 Okay, fiberskin, thanks for the Info !
The drums are super cool and weird and all. But what's up with the worlds smallest cymbals?
Odd indeed. They got to be tuned to a pentatonic scale for a semi-african feel I'd imagine 🤔
the intro caught me so off guard with none of the drum sounds matching what was on screen
Muito interessante o som da caixa, mas o tons e surdo não soa muito legal!
Fuck this, the heads are $70+ a pop.
Couple on side as accompanied, not as set, just my opinion
Too loud man, like I'll take my bongos and go.
