A word of possible advice. If you build new motors you can store them in your warehouse them just slap the right in. Much easier. But along with that. In your warehouse if you click v you actually have 6 warehouses. You can rename and separate parts by category. Buying loads of parts that you'll buy over and over, saves you time to go in warehouse and pull what you know you'll need. Makes it way too easy to keep organized.
What I recommend doing is getting the repair bench and repairing all the old parts. I did the same thing, got one for 28k, (2k over evaluated) spent like 7500 by using the bench. I put like 3000 on tuning parts extra, but that wasn’t required. Once you sell that first restoration though cash gets so much easier to get. I sold that one for 99k, bought two more, sold one for 68k and one 96.( another trans am) oh and btw if you get the body repair table you don’t have to do a new paint job. Good luck, hope you have fun with the game. Hopefully you found something I said helpful
The gearbox, the torque is so high that it is making this car lose traction (old car, no traction control) so I don't think any gear adjustment will stop that unless you can use a controller where you can adjust the amount of throttle you can give the car. But you could try putting the first gear to 60+ mph then bumping each sequential gear up by 30 mph from first gear and putting the last gear to around 300 mph. The key is to watch the rpms and where the car shifts. You want the car to shift at redline and also not drop to much in rpms after shifting (anything after 4000 rpms should be fine.)
I use these gears on my 1052hp tempest magnum Final ratio 4.11 1st 1.44 2nd 0.93 3rd 0.80 4th 0.66 5th 0.56 6th 0.49 7th 0.44 8th 0.40 9th 0.36 Im not an expert but i went 290mph on the strip with slick tires
Try less gears and a diff ratio around the 3.07 mark. In the C4 Corvette (can't remember the in game name) with a touch more horsepower I hit 290mp/h with the 6 speed and 3.07 gears. I'm going to try for a more real world 3 speed to see how it compares against my car in real life with similar gearing.
I all so have a tempest magnum my has 1045hp and i get 301 all most every time and 306 mph sometime with a Final ratio 1.10 1st 3.88 2nd 2.86 3rd 1.86 4th 1.61 and i had slick tires on the back and racing tires on the front
I was playing around with the tuning & it seemed like if I figured out where the rev limiter was hitting, mph wise, then put that gear to 1-3 mph slower, it shifted smoother & I had less spin on the tires when it shifted. It is boring doing that though, because I had to adjust 1 gear, then go test. Then adjust that gear again sometimes or adjust the next gear, then test and so on & so forth. I hit 294 mph before I hit the fence & still had power to spare. I did it with the Mayen M8 & the supercharged engine. I haven't played with the top overall gear ratio, the one above first, haven't even looked to see if I could. If I remember correctly though, the higher the gear ratio, like 4:11, the faster the launch. The lower the gear ratio, the higher the top speed, but don't quote me as being right, I am getting older & I don't always remember things correctly, lol. (I know, someone on the ole interwebs admitting they could be wrong about something is just craziness, 😂🤣!)
Correct. Tall gears ie 2.90, 3.07, 3.11's will give you a better top speed. Shorter gears like 4.11's will give better acceleration but not as good top speed.
