I’ll admit, MK11’s story is the strangest, but also, the most entertaining. It has a lot, including Scorpion and Sub Zero teaming up, Cassie Cage being more badass, Jade’s intriguing role, Liu Kang’s transformation to Godhood, climatic EPIC BATTLE, etc. I love that STORY🥰

Where is Bo Rai Cho last time he appeared was in mortal kombat x as a DLC character and barely in the story mode too.
I hate that Dark Raiden and the war on the Netherrealm were abandoned.

You know I just realized something that I think is kinda funny is that almost every movie, comic, or video game always resorts to something or someone messing with time in order to fix, change, improve, or start from scratch like how with dc comics they resort to use everyone's favorite speedster the man who literally caused multiple splits in time and was the cause of flashpoint our boy barry Allen aka the flash like seriously can nobody think of a better way to recreate a universe like seriously is there any other way to change something without someone or something messing with the past in order to change the future

I wouldn’t call it "strangest", but I'm glad that they did away with MK11's "Sindel was evil all along" retcon. Just gonna chalk that up to Kronika's meddling yet again (as well as whoever at NRS thought that was a good idea).
Cassie Cage and the other 3 were meant to be "passing of the torch" trope but was handled very poorly. Cassie herself was also meant to replace Sonya and Johnny, two characters that were too iconic and the fact she was the daughter of both didn't actually help her case
Not to mention, they couldn't decide if Kung Jin was Kung Lao's cousin or nephew 😂
I don't think the concept of Kombat Kids was bad, but yeah, handled very poorly.
I don't think MKX should've been the game they did that in. I think MKX should've followed the same formula MK9 laid out and retold MK4, maybe even MKDA and maybe ended with the birth of Kombat Kids and MK11 could've been a passing of the torch instead of another reboot.
A part of me wish Shujinko could have his own power, but I accepted the fact that he was meant to be the kind of fighter who duplicates many abilities of various warriors, and he’s also somewhat the player character’s avatar who goes world to world.
Lui seemingly kept everyone, he just took away Rayden’s Godhood since he messed it up like three times anyways. Hanzo is going to be there somewhere.

The First is Spectre Scorpion Hanzo, basically OG Hanzo from the Previous Time Lines that appears in Mortal Kombat Invasion Chapter 1: Spectre
The Second is an Orphan Kid that will be adopted by Kuai Liang's Newly Formed Shinrai Ryu that appears in Smoke's Ending

Here's some more(some are dropped stories some are retcons)- Baraka in MK4 was split in half- no rivalry with kung lao was created. Mk4 Reptile was a general for Shinnok's armies, had a cool costume, and was commiting genocide. He turned into a minion who couldn't think for himself and needed a master to tell him what to do-one game later! Goro was originally considered small for a Shokan and Kintaro waa exceptionally large and he wanted to avenge Goro- all this waa ret conned . Raiden originally was thunder incarnate who fought more to mock mankind rather than help. Kano was originally chinese American until the original movie..MK deception is called that not only because Onaga decieyved Shujinko, but because warriors were all switching sides and nothing appeared like normal. Last I checked, Mileena's ending is canon, and she deceives everyone into thinking she is Kitana and rules out world's army. The trailers where she kills Baraka (who isn't stitched up from being sliced in half by kung lao) is also canon because Baraka threatened to rat her out. This was completely abandoned a game later as were all xanon endings. Never heard about cryomancers again did we? I remember originally, defeating Shang Tsung was what made you tournament winner. This makes no sense as Goro is champion. I think they doubled down on this is Shaolin Monks as well. Also, the canon of MK tournaments make no sense and I think they knew it was confusing and dropped it. Lu Kang is a 4 time champion of Mortal Kombat, but they would technically be different tournaments especially if fighting Shinnok. It would be more equivalent to holding multiple boxing organization belts. Onaga is alive and well in Armageddon, and so is Baraka with zero explanation. Speaking of dropped stories for characters, everyone just forgot about Kai which I was expecting at least a cameo in MKx. Kano in Deadly Alliance is a competent general and defeats goro and Kitana enough they have to be allies in war- any further iterations completely ignore this aspect of him. The number of years/time between tournaments has also changed but I can't exactly remember - if someone remembers both please mention it. Finally, heres one that oddly really bothers me- Shang Tsung. He's a former mk champion and in some stories he's really competent and in some stories he's not- especially if quan chi is involved. Can someone explain how there are only a certain number of realms yet we know Shao Kahn conquered so many, as well as the fact many characters are from alternate realms? Forgot 1- Jax and Sonya were originally part of the FBI, not the military
If Zombie LK actually fought like the Armageddon intro I believe he would have been more appreciated

I May Not Be a Mortal Kombat Fan That Title goes to Street Fighter and Tekken what can say I was Impressed by MK's stranglehold on Pop Culture even though I stopped playing the franchise during the mid-late 2000's
I never liked Dark Raiden. He didn't do much in the 3D era and he only managed to sequel bait in MKX
You know what, I agree with you. I’m probably going to provoke a lot of people, but my main issue with the older games is their over reliance on texts and pictures on their bios and endings. If the older games have story modes similar to the current ones, we could see more of what characters do, such as Dark Raiden doing what he could do in Deception and Armageddon. It’s a slight minor nitpick, but surely, early MK games weren’t advanced at that time.
@@BlazerK1914 I Believe both formats have pros and cons. Such as the newer stories have no sense of power scaling since everyone wins 5 fights in a row, leaving characters like Barraka and Reptile to lose to everyone and be mindless minions.

After Watching the MK1 Story Mode, My Only Questions are how complicated will the Lin Kuei, Gods, and Ending will affect the Universe Going Forward and will there be a DLC Story Mode.

Cassie Cage defeating Shinnok reminds me of Isildur defeated Sauron. I’m cool with that😁 Also, I always like Cassie and her friends, except Kung Jin, but he’s a pretty cool fighter, though.
The Cage’s defeating Shinnok isn’t as bad as people make it out to be. They come from a line of ancient warriors, no shit they’d have some supernatural abilities

Half of the people loving the MKX kids, and the other half wanting them gone reminds me of the struggle people have with Teen Titans Go.
One story thread I hope they don't get rid of is the war between the Centaurs and the Shokan. I've always wanted to see what that kind of war was like.
@dreamguardian8320 The reason why most people don't like the Kombat Kids was cause those are usually the ones the game always safeguard. They don't had a good intro to them, they were mostly protected by the veteran characters, and they bury some of the other cooler characters such as Erran Black and Kotal Kahn.
The mysterious woman from Jade's MK9 arcade ending (which continued with Kitanna's MKX arcade ending, seeing Jade still possessed by her) was such a big squandered story potential. She shoulda been Kronika instead! Still upset they abandoned that possible story line
Why does Hsu Hao ALWAYS get so much hate everytime he is mentioned? Clearly there are worst characters than him, also how come no one makes fun of Kano in MK11 when he copies Hsu Hao and put a big laser chest plate on himself?
Cause Kano is way cooler than Hsu Hao. The reason why Hsu Hao was hated was because nobody likes him just like Jarek.

Konquest modes were fun, but I highly enjoyed the current MK games’ story modes, and the latest, Mortal Kombat 1, is turning out to be awesome.

The outrage over the young special forces is ridiculous. So we have focus on characters in the next generation, so what? A story isn’t obligated to always stick to the same main characters. Things change. Stop being so stuck in the past.
Hsu Hao sucks, but his fatality in Deadly Alliance was actually one of the best in that game.
Also I was hoping the new Mortal Kombat game would be updated version of Mortal Kombat Armageddon.
TL;dr: This vid is a miss.
1. You start off saying Guest Kombatants are non-canon so you know they don't affect the story at all
2. This wasn't abandoned, it was resolved in Deception: Konquest > Shujinko Arcade Ending > Raiden Arcade Ending > Armageddon.
3. I don't even know what you're trying to say was abandoned here.
4. (Dark) Raiden decided he needed an enforcer and used Liu Kang and he's a zombie cuz in Kano's Deadly Alliance ending, Liu Kang's soul takes over his body. This ended due to Armageddon.
5. Hsu Hao is hated by the fanbase and NRS, all his kameos are literally of his corpse or him being killed just to make fun of how terrible a kharacter he is. Not sure what story thread was abandoned here.
6. Really not sure what the point of the Raiden entry was, like at all.
7. Not sure the point of this one either, all that could still happen again.
8. The Kombat* Kids' story ended with 11 Aftermath
9. Hanzo's story ended when he died in his younger self's arms, Bi-Han and Scorpion's both ended in 11 Aftermath

I didn't play a lot of deadly alliance, but If I remember, he was the final character to unlock in the game. However he was the worst character when it came to combos, special moves, and abilities, along with his design and name. Basically you grinded for hours on end to complete the game and your reward is the worst performing character in the whole game.
They should've mentioned that in the video

- Hanzo and Kui are basically the same person just different names depending on if he’s a wraith or not.
-something may again happen to scorpion and his clan later on which will have him turn into a wraith and such once again. And take the name Hanzo
-Hanzo is a totally different charcater that’s apart of his clan or his Son
Since technically all of MK1s story is taking place “before” MK1 in the sense that it’s the absolute very beginning. A lot of stuff simply hasn’t had the chance to transpire yet.
The biggest storyline Mortal Kombat always forget is the tournament outcome of their champion. Victor of Mortal Kombat is suppose to be immortal until the next tournament but somehow Liu Kang was able to be killed at the beginning of Deadly Alliance.
Part of me wish that the taven plot line actually got finished because I feel like that storyline never got finished at least in my opinion.
None of this “technically” was abandoned. From MK to Armageddon it was all true. Then MK9-11, and then restarted again with MK. All of them are different timelines of the same story basically. So some of this STILL could happen in Current time lines to a certain extent. People keep bringing up Onaga when that story arch technically hasn’t come around yet in either of the most recent 2 timelines
I know it can be a bit confusing, but with the way they set up their universe. There aren’t any “plot holes” to say. And almost everything can be explained. So in the lore, all of this has actually happened. Just in a different time line.

"Raiden the thunder god"..its a complete reboot/alternate timeline. If you're complaining about Raiden thinder god, why not complain about Mileena being the new Queen instead of Kitana? You complained about Bi Han and Hanzo when Hanzo is directly mentioned to Smoke in the match ups.
This entire video was clickbait to complain about a reboot without understanding that a reboot isn't exactly the same story.
I like Kronika, and her return does not disappoint me, but surely is surprising.

I loved Deception back in the day. I tried replaying it a year ago and hated it. The constant tutorials drove me crazy
The MKX kids, the friendship between Kuai Liang and Hanzo human, Johnny being the central hero, these were my all time favourite moments in MK history and that's why I'll never buy MK1 reboot.
What was cool were 2 original ideas for mk11, one was the realm wars hinted at during the end of mkx story mode, the other was an actual tournament where the winner became Onaga's bodyguard, which also would have explained why dead fighters keep coming back.

For the guest character this is literally what invasion are in mk1.
Shujinko is actually refered to a lot in character intros. Onaga army also bring in use mk1 and damashi code name.
Just like the Batman mantle, anyone can be Scorpion. Hanzo Hasashi will always be the iconic specter, but I am open for Kuai Liang as the next fiery ninja.
they didnt abandon Zombie Liu Kang, the zombie trend continued with MK9, MKX, even MK11 as "revenants". but they were generally not liked by majority of the community as those characters were made into just jobbers and shadow of their real selves. so in the last game they upgraded Liu Kang into a Godly Hero rather than a generic Undead Villain. personally i liked Dark Evil Netherrealm version of Liu Kang, but it was underdeveloped and just a jobber
Hanzo exists, and i think they did good how they introduce him.
Oh well at least Takeda will be dlc but idk about his character backstory or the other MKX kids for that matter, let’s hope the others be available for dlc or at the very least be a Kameo fighter
Sindel was the one that pissed me off greatly because to me it wasn’t necessary and the original timeline still feels like the correct timeline to me regardless of what many fans think.

In Smoke's ending in MK1, he meets Hanzo, who is an orphaned boy in the new timeline, and brings him in to the newly established Shirai Ryu clan

How do you abandon a story line that was seen though to its completion? Armageddon was meant to be an ending to the original (Midway) series. MK vs DC was never cannon but Mortal Kombat (MK9 if you will) was the beginning of the Neatherrealm era. Armageddon was the end of the Midway series, it was never meant to continue.

Thunder God Raiden did meet and fought alongside Fire God Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat 1 story if only a brief moment.
Biggest missed opportunity of the new timeline was not making shang tsung earthrealms protector.
I'm just sucks that they decided to pretty much reboot Mortal Kombat. Reason why I say that because what was the point of introducing new characters if you just going to get rid of them

Zombie Liu Kang was so-so. It was an attempt to bring in someone like Kai and other new Earthrealmers from the 3D Era. I'm not a Zombie Liu Kang hater.
Ok maybe I'm not fully up on the revealed plot points of MK1, but i feel like several of these "abandoned" plot points aren't abandoned at all (namely Thunder God Raiden, The Cage Family, and the MKX Kids). They're just waiting to be addressed in MK1. It seems to me that the whole point of MK1's story is going to be that despite Liu Kang trying to create a Utopia by meddling with the timeline he has created unforseen consequences and ruined certain characters lives. It feels like Fire God Liu will be the final boss after this is pointed out and he refuses to put the world back in order how it should be.

the mkx kids have a cameo appearance in mk 1 when you are running up the tower 4 fighters approach you Kitana shows up and says i got this and takes them out before being taken out herself by an unidentified ?????? if you look closely its them
If I’m being honest, I actually loved the whole Cage family tree story thread since it was interesting to see Johnny and Sonya get together and have a daughter. I hope this comes back in some way in the new timeline because I want to see Johnny, Sonya and Cassie again.
Johnny Cage doesn't had to get together with Sonya to make Cassie Cage. Cassie could still exist in the new era, she'll probably had a different mother that's all.

No. Takeda is not a mantle like the name Scorpion. It's also been confirmed that it is Takeda Takahashi
This video gets a lot of things wrong. Most of this is based on mk1 being a new timeline. But that doesn't mean story threads were abandoned.... they just finished. Those stories finished. And in mk1 characters like the kombat kids do actually still exist. Things weren't abandoned.

Zombie Liu Kang came after he was murdered at the beginning of deadly alliance by Quan Chi and Shang Tsung. You gave Revenant Liu Kang's story, and that wasn't abandoned whatsoever. Do your research next time plz.

Number 10 entry making all the guest characters canonical is a lazy pick
No.1 for me is the original Subzero's death at the hands of Lui Kang. this was changed to Scorpion doing the deed to create more of a connection between the two ninjas.
The movie and game storylines are not the same. In the movie Johnny Cage fought Goro at the tournament but in the game it's actually Liu Kang.
I think you guys should really need to learn the difference between 'abandoned' and 'concluded'. Would make for a less click baity title.
