- We’re in the Nutcracker spirit! 🎄❄️🎁
In honor of our favorite annual holiday tradition that would have began on December 11 at Segerstrom Center for the Arts, one of our Stage Managers Danielle Ventimiglia takes us behind the scenes of what Day 1 of Alexei Ratmansky’s THE NUTCRACKER is like at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. We miss it this year and can’t wait to be back on stage performing this holiday classic when we can all be together again!

Are you coming back to BAM? We miss you on the East Coast!!!
Am I the only one watching this like 2 hours after I did my audition at my studio 😭
Is ABT's production a touring-only production since NYC Ballet has a production at Lincoln Center?
they only perform in southern california, in the segerstrom theatre
looks like an absolutely beautiful production! who did the choreography? the costume design? scene design?
Alexei Ratmansky did the choreography, and Richard Hudson was responsible for both the costume and scenic designs. You're welcome. :)
I hope I can go into the bellet cus u dance everyday and I hope that I can continue dancing. I am watching the movie like and I hope I can goo
But I'm on the other side of the us
Awesome short film, love your work! I direct short films as well, any support would really be appreciate!
They all say what to each other before the show starts? Merit?
I doubt it's "merde" (too rude for ballet!) but it fits!
we do in fact say “merde!” Lol! I’ve heard different accounts as to how it started, but the one I seem to hear the most is that it started as a way to remind people to watch out for live animal droppings, back when it was more common to have live horses, sheep, goats, etc., in the shows!
LOL! That's hilarious! I think it still fits nowadays because in my experience, it doesn't matter how many rehearsals you've run through (or how well they've gone), at 30 minutes to curtain, you're still thinking, "Merde! How do we only have 30 minutes to curtain already?" 😂
@@sabrinastilson8831 Are you a dancer with ABT?
