The Kreisler cadenza is a great demonstration of virtuosity, but I personally find it to be a distraction from the character and seriousness of the Brahms concerto itself. Requiring in the context of a competition is understandable, as an indicator of raw technique, but it offers little opportunity for artistic expression by the performer.
He's an earthling and you can catch him making his North American Debut in Chicago and suburbs - if you are near there with Camerata Chicago Orchestra.
What is with the squeaking? Does anyone hear this? I'm surprised no one commented about this. Did he not have enough rosin on his bow? What's going on. Once, okay, but I'm hearing it over and over again. Look, he already won, and no one is questioning his talent. It's clear as day he's a superstar, but the squeaking is making me go ... what is going on?
the E string is making the ghost tone not a squeak more like a hiss an unwanted overtone or harmonic sound made by the angle of attack might need a new E string or different E string
This is a common problem. It happens on the open E string and it often comes when low bow pressure is used usually combined with a shallow angle between bow and string. Augustin Hadelich has a RUclips video talking about this and showing that even top soloists have this problem
