Everything about this is very wholesome, but I want to take a moment to appreciate Joshua's improvisation skills. To be able to make a full course/gourmet meal with little or no equipment and having it come out still tasting good is truly a testament to his ability as a chef. Especially for the doughnuts, I really admire the thought process and quick thinking that went into using the pasta method to make a sweet dough. Serious kudos, chef!
He just made dough the way everyone did before mixers. Hardly improv.
I'm torn between wanting to see more fun Kate videos and wanting her to never have to do this again since it was so stressful.

Josh is amazing and Kate is fantastic, but together they have the most incredibly funny and lovely chaos energy.
If he didn't introduce this as cooking w/his wife, I would have said this was an absolute failure of a tinder date.

@@dennisp8520 just fear of messing things up, or not doing a good enough job, or that people won’t like your cooking, and all of this summed up to a person whose never been educated in the kitchen (possibly put off by over protective parents because “the fire is dangerous”) and has anxiety and other mental issues… it’s very understandable that someone can be afraid of cooking.
@@MarceloZ2 I mean my parents were overprotective about cooking with me I didn’t ever touch a stove until middle school.
I live by myself and cook some simple things for myself. I mostly bake stuff in the oven because it’s more convenient and because my house has a smoke detector that likes to go off if I ever try to cook any meats on the stove top. If something doesn’t turn out perfect it’s not a big deal I just eat it and try again. Over time I got really good at making like 20 dishes which is enough variety.
Now there are something’s that I’m lazy with, specifically when it comes to cooking vegetables like Brussel sprouts. I absolutely love them but I’m very very lazy and so will often times just get those precooked from my local grocery store to save time/effort.

With being as respectful as possible, Kate is a great example of how your cookbook is easy to follow through, and how everyone can produce high-quality dishes at the comfort of their homes. Amazing!
With being as respectful as possible, it is a bit off-putting to hear a 'millenial' woman not just own the fact they don't know how to cook, but she seems to to say it in a way that cooking is beneath her. She is missing a very important way to connect with Joshua. I hope this works out.

This is so cute 😂 your wife reminds me of how awkward my husband is in the kitchen. He has learned a lot, though. I've been working in restaurants and cooking at home for 15 years ✨️ and I've taught him enough that he's our designated burger and grill cook. He makes a better burger than me now!

Kate comes off as ditzy and clumsy but she really is smart and caring. Taking the bar is no joke and her being there for him just shows that she is the one truly keeping him together and now that he is established it's thoughtful seeing him give her something in return besides getting married. I made the donuts last night, but i want to try it again with a pinch of nutmeg. Also, i like how your wife basically pointed out that sometimes the process sucks, but it's so satisfying when you have a final product that you can be proud of.
