This is one of the best episodes ever. I am so happy that Kevin Scott finally made it to Road Podcast, and he got to not only speak on his history plus DJ AM, his friendship, and keeping DJ AM's legacy alive. Blessings.
I appreciate Kevin Scott for continuing to share AM life; I've watch this doc to the point I know it back to front and just have it run as background noise. AM is my favorite DJ and I attribute my love for the art of DJ'ing impart due to his influence. This podcast was awesome - thank you for sharing.
54:57 2006 was the year I met AM. He was booked to DJ an event in Washington DC where my friend was the opening DJ. The same night my friend and I were introduced to Serato. The room was dead because of a band upstairs. When AM started his set, I was amazed at his style of play. I was hanging out and mentioned to him, "I'll be back, Ima get this poppin". I went upstairs and walked around saying, "There's an awesome DJ downstairs". The room eventually caught a vibe. I recall talking to this girl when AM transitioned from Guns N Roses to MJ. I literally paused our conversation to turn around to better witness the ear candy that commanded my attention. I miss AM. He is an inspiration to me and so many others. I'm glad to have met him.
Back when the Serato forum was a thing AM used to drop in from time to time. I comiled all of his comments into a thread after he passed so the knowledge he dropped would live on. Not all of it is gems but theres some really cool stuff that i still think about to this day. I tried to post the link but i guess YT wont allow that but i just googled the thread (DJ AM SERATO REFERENCE GUIDE DJ AM FANBOY BIBLE) and noticed Kevin Scot already linked it on the AM LIVES page! Im glad he found it!
I really wanted the Dj AM vinyls and slipmats but I couldn’t afford em at the time😢 but I definetly went to see the movie premiere and got the digital download…..always watch it a week before a gig for inspiration and just everything in between

AM is the reason I made this a career. I saw him play once and i’d never seen anyone have that effect on a room with music. 🙌🏻
