I wonder how the ensemble member playing the Tsarina must feel wearing that dress. I feel like it’s rarer that a random ensemble member is the one wearing a dress of that magnitude. But good for her!
Every time I see Christy in that blue opera dress my heart just stops. One of the most beautiful costumes I have ever seen and Christy looked so beautiful in it
As a friend of Christy (even before ANASTASIA), she looks so beautiful in that blue gown on stage and I get chills evereytime I see it. With knowing Christy, I've been backstage and I have to tell all of you that blue gown is really heavy. Tomorrow is actually my 3rd time seeing it live.
Yep, I'd have been so disappointed for it to be pink! I loved the costuming in the movie (I loved the royal announcement dress before the final confrontation ruined it the most, then the blue) and to not have it be "correct," just wouldn't make sense to me. You have to make the dress anyway, so why not make it the right color? I don't get why places do that. Also, as a sometimes-auburn-haired person, I never wear pink or red when my hair is red bc it just clashes most of the time. And light pink isn't as commanding as that blue, in my opinion. So I'm forever grateful they changed it! I highly doubt I could see this cast, but once they get a touring group together, I'll be catching it! Memphis gets most of the shows through it, so I'll be stalking all the announcements!
Funny how the dress was pink during the pre-Broadway run. Reminds me of Sleeping Beauty lol. "Make it pink!" "No, make it blue!"

These costumes are insanely beautiful, I'm so compelled ugh I love it
See people? This is why SHE should have won the Tony, not Hello Dolly!!!!!

How her beautiful costumes didn't win the Tony, Drama Desk, or the Outer Critic Circle award for best costumes of a musical is BEYOND ME
Erm.... pretty sure it's not the 18TH century. It's the 20th
I was one outraged fan 😅🙋 I'm so happy they changed it 💗
The costumes are absolutely gorgeous

She's right, this is every costume designer's wet dream 😍 I want to do this one day
Now I like pink, and it does make more sense to dress her in white and pink, but I like the blue dress more so good choice on the blue.
18th century? SERIOUSLY? The Russian Revolution, Lenine, Josephine Baker... Know your facts people!
Oh...the creations are so dreamy.... I adore it!
Those costumes look gorgeously colorful! I am going to see the touring version today in Costa Mesa.
