Its funny because during the playtest I was saying if the general public got access to the game, it was going to get review bombed simply because of the fact that A LOT (if not the majority) of players are going to have trouble running this game. And here we are today...

@@BigfryTVmy dude your takes are usually pretty spot on but what’s more likely do you think the game was released at this point because players were bitching for it to….or and IMO the more likely reason is that the studio saw Tarkovs massive fuck up and thought they could capitalize on the massive amount of players who now feel like tarkov isn’t an option. They definitely should have waited 6 months before releasing but they would have likely made way less money since the tarkov drama would have been forgotten at that point

What does big fry think of grayzone using a colored tape system that players can wear on there arms, legs, and gear to show what faction they are in. As seen in Ukraine, it’s used to easily differentiate two sides, and I think it would be a great alternative to identifying teammates from enemies, rather then pulling up your map every 2 minutes.

Early access was the biggest mistake for the gaming industrie.
It opened the door for scams, asset flips and any publisher has become way too comfortable releasing "finished" games that are barely in an early access stage.

@rabidkangar00 it's not though. The point of limited playtests is to stress test the game. If three guys could do it and do it for free(the big thing) gray zone has no excuse. It's especially considering the fact this is a $40 early access title that basically does nothing really new besides satiate the tactical shooter player base.
Not to mention, this isn't the first time bigfry has come out like this to defend a crappy launch. When battlefield 2042 was coming out, him and the other youtubers said "its a beta, stop being entitled" when there was clear evidence the game was not ready to launch at all. Then, when the game came out at launch and we were proven right, bigfry basically came out and said "sorry guys, but its not my fault I hyped this game up and it came out like this. Cut us youtubers some slack". He's basically pulling the same shit here as he did nearly 3 years ago.
Point is, we aren't entitled, the youtubers and devs are. We consumers are the reason why they are able to do what they love, and as much as the gaming community can be toxic at times, this is not one of those times.

The majority of people who bought this game were normal gamers that saw the hype on RUclips and tiktok and they bought it and couldn’t run it. People who complained about streamers getting access is probably 1% of the total buyers. They released the game cause of the TikTok hype.
If the devs truly did release the game because a couple people felt some time of way that streamers got access then the devs deserve the hate cause that’s the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard
They released a game that doesn’t work. Most people who buy games don’t look at it as an alpha build or a work in progress.
They see the hyped. They see the gameplay. They see it’s available to purchase with money then they see it doesn’t work and it gets negative reviews. Idk why your trying to save the devs here.

I get the points but in my opinion "Early Access" shouldn't even really be a thing. It has been a system abused so many times by so many developers so I sort of get the opposing side's point. Why can't developers just actually finish a product for once and get it to the standards it was supposed to be THEN release it and do some post-launch updates to it if need be. Developers are so quick to just chuck out unfinished products to make some cash then either run away or never really finish it. Or people play the Early Access so much by the time full release comes out they are bored and don't care about it anymore because the next big thing is out.
    Edit:
Looking into these developers, "Madfinger Games" are originally devs of popular mobile games, now going for a project this big. If that doesn't ring a bell I don't know what does.

There are a faint number of indie games which are really valuable and amazing projects, but most will get squeezed between AAA and the ground by the constantly changing demand and pressure

Lower the system requirements AFTER optimisation OR if you want to have people test lower end hardware run a FREE beta..
There are people who paid money, who are way above minimum specs and cannot really play. Thats is just false advertising luring people in to buy and has nothing to do with early access.

You're talking about a company that doesn't seem to understand what a close beta is. You mentioned that people wanted real testing and not just content creators. However, if you search for the term "close beta", it's defined as "A limited release of a product to a select group of people for testing and feedback."
Moreover, content creators testing the game doesn't qualify as a close beta because this game is meant to be played with a lot of players (48 in total, 16 per faction).
Therefore, Madfinger Games decided to release a game that requires payment to test and provide feedback. This raises the question: what are close beta and open beta for?

Yup, I usually only buy early access games when they appeal a ton to me (and I saw gameplay - which happens rarely enough for the sole reason that I don't want it to be an entirely different game to what I bought upon launch) or when I know that they got mod support and are high on my list (like Incursion Red River, even tho it's not yet officially integrated people already started making smaller ones).
Wanted to get GZW, but then realized that if I want to play it coop, I'm locked out of friendly fire damage, so it's essentially just running around with your friends and no one gotta pay attention to not hit their team mates, which takes away too much for me (and the friends I usually play with) to invest into a not yet finished product.

Depending on results is where your game is at and most of the time we are asked go get your friend or go get ur partner or get someone who has never played your game to play it and increase the pool until your game is at a stage where its good enough to follow up the next stage.
What they should of done is increase from content creators to their own family and friends and relatives and pick random people in the community to test it. Get fresh eyes on it and get more details of where your game is at because at the end of the day play testing and feedback is where it is at and currently from the Early Access from the release it didn't have enough content for people to give it a fair chance or run correctly and it seems more like this was rushed out to start an Early Access release or the pool of play testing and feedback wasn't enough because if it was then it wouldn't of had the feedback it has received so far.

It was buggy, had like 5 maps and no vehicles so every single round started with everyone running for 15 minutes to the middle of the map to start fighting. I've been playing through every update, and it's been a blast the whole way because of the clan I joined through it. Being in a game like this, that has so much potential, this early is actually going to be a bit of a blessing. You'll be there through all the updates, you'll learn and adapt to all the mechanics as they arrive or are tweaked. Enjoy it!

But jesus christ, the performance is absolutely atrocious on anything but the highest of high end rigs (Not to mention the known bug on lower end system where if you zoom into your optic in the heli, the game crashes). In my 5 hours of playtime, i've crashes AT LEAST once an hour, and i really dont have that bad of a rig (Ryzen 3900x, 3070 ti, NVME SSD, 32 gigs of ram, its damn near the exact recommended specifications from their steam page). The fact of the matter is, Its a great game WHEN IT WORKS, but its a consistent mess that hitches, stutters, and drops frames constantly, with all the settings set to the lowest with fsr ultra performance on. Maybe in a few weeks when the storm dies down, the game will be patched into an amazing, playable experience. But as it stands, i cant even recommend the game unless you have a super computer.

I have a theory here (tin foil had on). You said that streamers told the developers that this game needed 6 months of polishing (which i highly agree with). I find it interesting that they decided to release this during the Tarkov drama and even promoting there game by trashing Tarkov with some tweets. I feel like they know very well that there game is not ready, but found a golden opportunity to get more sales and not wait for the game to be actually ready for release. As much as now hate Tarkov for the scummy behavior they did, I feel like this game might fall in a similar trap in the future. Hopefully, im wrong. It also sucks to see them doing the exact "P2W" practice that other people complain about with tarkov (bigger stashes/secure comtainer, better starting equipment, etc) with the higher editions *just like Tarkov). Maybe this game will be super successful and will bounce back from this mess with performance and lack of content. same deal with tarkov, I have an old but formerly top of the line intel CPU & I was able to get playable solid FPS (same as tarkov -- 50-85 avg, capped at 96 for 100hz g-sync monitor) by turning off hyperthreading in my bios, overclocking my ram to the max w/ a focus on minimizing latency + timings vs just raw speed, then overclocking my cpu to the max that still allows my ram overclock to be stable. Also, I have a 1080ti watercooled & overclocked to the max too.
But yeah, I have 15+ years of manual overclocking experience, so I dont expect the avg gamer to be able to fully optimize their system's overclock like this -- modern BIOS auto-OC has taken these skills & made them obsolete in 99% of cases... it just happens that tarkov & GZW are in the 1% lol
