I came down with a strange unidentified respiratory virus in December 2019. I ended up in ITU for a month in respiratory failure at 39 years old with not much hope of recovery. I did pull through but was left completely physically and mentally obliterated by what happened to me. I remember in February 2020 when I could finally physically recovered, my husband took me to Rome. I kept seeing things about this virus and began panicking. We left early and went back to the UK and then my nightmare began. I started seeing the pictures of the people in the ICU on TV and that’s when the PTSD triggered and I spent the next year terrified which eventually lead to a complete mental breakdown. Honestly the worst year of my life, almost lost my marriage, our home and my life. Dealing with the deaths of family and friends, completely isolated from everyone. Never again.
This is so weird for me to say this as we are nearly approaching 4 years, as I know people have lost someone but for me who hasn't , lockdown one was one of happiest period of my life (especially when furlough was announced and approved by my employer ). I was gyming , baking , gaming (war zone) with the mrs, using house party and teams to day connected with friends and family had a proper daily routine and got so much done around the flat , sure it was was frustrating in the beginning lining for hours in line at Sainsbury's etc just to do a quick shop. Even looking forward until Thursdays at 8pm for the NHS claps truly nostalgic for me.
The government need to remember who stepped up for this country.and how they are repaying the frontline and keyworkers in 2022. Some people have very short memories.
idk there's a tiny bit of nostalgia about watching the beginning of it...in a weird way...like man remember back when things were bad but not as bad as they are now? lol
It started of so dark and so awful, then light came through the dark and it became an oddly amazing time to be in on especially virtually and then after once the virus eased and was treated to great weather as well
I would like to forget 2020 really cause its been the worst year not only for myself but for people round the world we have lost so much to this virus too, I just think its time to say goodbye to 2020 forget it and move on to 2021 hoping that it'll be better year for all of us but 2020 will be year I will never forget.
Erase 2020, 2021 and very beginning of 2022. When all the mask mandates went away and social distancing and other restrictions that is when life started getting back to normal, thankfully
This time was the first time in my life when i came down with what i thought was the flu, but kept getting worse, fever coughing and scared once i couldnt even make it to the bathroom i would be struggling to breathe....then the fear of the end of the world being upon us as breaking news was all that was on tv, then to make things worse at 8 am one morning, we experienced our very first sizeable earthquake, ebough to destroy our home and throw me to the ground ...terror upon terror piling on. It was scary
Thankfully societal collapse didn't happen in 2020 & no sane & rational person would have liked to have seen that but I am surprised there wasn't rioting in the streets because of the lockdowns, having our freedoms taken away & our human rights being run roughshod over & I have lived through rioting & civil unrest during times when there has been less social & systemic problems ! ! !
"No one could have imagined...." err I think China could. Whether from their lab or not, they covered it up in December. Not that this Tory govt would have done anything with the extra warning.
With all the restrictions we have had all this time, I forgot just how severe that initial lockdown was, like 100% shutdown including playgrounds, even takeaway coffees!
Now in 2022 - 2 years on, the nurses, posties, bus drivers, rail workers, teachers, bin men, supermarket workers who were hailed as frontline and keyworkers by this country have been massively let down. now the government don't care the CEOs of the royal mail don't care! let's hope theres not another pandemic. cos I'll remember I worked through it and then left to fend for ourselves when we need help in desperate times.thanks for nothing

dont worry, not very likely unless there are labs in highly populated areas that carry out risky bio experiments.... most cities around the world have these, lab leaks are a step away.
It was so bad, that can be an offenssive word, like, stop being 2020 ! I have been seen this phrase on everywhere, but nobody thinks about what we have learned in these times, to be kind, solidary, with each other. I'm so sorry if my english isn't good, i'm from Brazil.
The biggest mistake was not setting mask wearing as the standard right from the beginning, and not giving people straightforward guidance. Overall they just handled everything incorrectly. They should have stopped all international travel immediately and this mess would have been avoided. The UK could have been in a stable situation like New Zealand.
This past year, I often pondered that [] “The well-being of mankind, its peace and security, are unattainable unless and until its unity is firmly established,” [] ~ Baha’u’llah (1817-92), Prophet-Founder of the Baha’i Faith
2020 is a year I want to forget, my marriage ended and I almost lost my dad to COVID-19.
So sorry to hear, hopefully better things are coming your way. Stay strong! 😊💪🏻
Things will get better man 2021 is going to bring great things your way

Why did the UK and other countries not close borders so the virus stayed in one place instead of causing a global pandemic??
