Biggest upcoming issue that I see is we do not have defecto Max cap player in our core 7 yet and only player that is even close is Sengun. We have many fringe All-Star caliber youngsters which will be bargain contracts or overpaid asset. Unlike OKC our talent pools are so close to each other terms of draft classes that we cannot afford to give out max extension lightly. I think the best option is match Sengun’s deal for max 4yr so we can take him off on rookie max extension quickly as possible so we have room to sign next rookie max

I've looked at Amen and his ball handling is somewhat concerning, but I think the first thing he has to get in the habit of doing is just protect the ball. Using his body or his offhand is an option. He has length and speed and should be able to avoid people swatting at the ball. I think he has gotten too used to just depending on his raw talents and so has not focused on his some of these basics.
He shot almost 70% from the free throw line, so honestly I expect he will shoot above 70% from the line this year and at least 28% from three. Given his productivity with the terrible shooting last year, I expect his impact this year to be greater and he should start at the three by January the latest. Furthermore, in my opinion he does everything well other than shoot, so if I am the Rockets, I am building my team around him and Reed Shepard.

  • @neyzenakifsubasi

Amen is typical point forward that can play 1-4 as needed for the match up. Ime likes to have least three defensive minded player in the rotation along with two offensive player. We know that Jabari, Tari, Brooks, Adam, Jeff and Amen are the defensive role, Jalen, Sengun, Aaron, Cam and Reed are the offensive and Fred just doing both. For Reed to get a spot on a rotation he gotta beat Aaron Holiday for a spot

HOT TAKE: We all know Jalen Green was one of the worse players in the league for about 90% of the season. And we know Udoka have him on a short leach. I know you guys only referring to Dillon and Jabari, but there is a world that Amen takes Jalen spot, especially if Amen handle improves slightly.
And I do not really see a justifiable reason why Amen barely scratches 20 minutes a night when he was one of the more impactful players on the team.

I think Detroit took that mindset and almost ruined Asur’s development. He had much more opportunities than Amen early on but soon as other team start exploiting his weakness his confidence dropped and was unplayable in 4th quarter. At the middle of the season everyone thought Asur was better twin but by the end of the season Amen was consider far better player and even consider future All-Star by few analysts. Thompson twin have very good work ethics and mindset so they will get better if the situation lets them. Jalen needs all the playing time he can because time is almost up and surely rockets front office don’t see him as max level player yet.

  • @jamesflanagan7693

He just bumps that 3 pt % up he'll be doing really good! He shot like 56% from the field last year, and that was with him shooting a woeful 13% from 3. So to still shoot 56% then the rest of his shots must have been at a really high clip! Probably dunks for the most part but he's actually finishing his dunks so there's that! If he can bring that 3 up to around 28% at a minimum then he's gonna be really efficient. I really do love Dillon Brooks but I think he's already outlived his usefulness to us. We need to trade him ASAP for assets we can cut cause we have too many great guys who need playing time. Start Tari or Amen at the 3. Udoka won't do that though cause he wants to make the playoffs bad and he wants to lean on those vets to do that.

The Rockets got so much fire power. The ole school way of “starters is gone”. Rocket a bench that can start. Anytime, any place. Lets go Rockets, unfortunately I dont think Jalen fits in the future of the Rockets. Silas did him an injustice by allowing him to just go out and play the way he wants to play. Now Jalen has to diversify. He gotta be a elite defender. His BB IQ is not that high. I just dont know if he got that it that Ime looks for.

I actually prefer cam over amen because of his build and his catch shoot ability.. his shot creation is terrible tho… cam plays better off ball but he does know that… green is inconsistent but a much better creator than cam and amen lack of a jumper makes him suspect at all times… and tari ain’t been healthy to evaluate this is tough especially at the wings…
