    *Disclaimer*
    For those offended by my use of, “white boy”…
    Hear me out…
    IN THE SOUTH, while we do say sir/ma’am (formally) as a sign of respect. The use of boy/girl (informal) in certain context, is NOT offensive.
    “White boy” in this context was intended and used in a complimentary fashion like the Wild Cherry song, “Play that funky music white boy”.
    For example:
    There could be a 50 year old man playing the piano at church and someone will say, “That boy know he can play!” That man could be black, white, yellow, or orange.
    The same for women, “girl, those shoes are cute!” And you could be damn near 40.
    In New Orleans they say baby, doesn’t mean you’re a baby. In Georgia we say Chile doesn’t mean you’re a child.
    I get it, some people don’t like it. It’s a term of endearment, it’s part of the culture!
    This is why I hate the internet but love it at the same time.
    For the people who misconstrued my intentions, bless your hearts.
    I love the song, I love the blues, and I love you who continue to help us discover artists who are keeping our AMERICAN CULTURE alive!
    In this world, there seems to be a lot of things that divides us.
    Music is one of those things that can bring us together. DESPITE our differences.
    So please stop throwing the “R” word around or intentionally trying to offend me because you are offended.
    Thank you,
    -Management

      It may be because I'm from the south myself but I knew exactly what you meant, you shouldn't have to explain yourself on your own damn channel. Anyone who was offended with anything you said clearly wasn't paying attention, keep doing you! Great reaction.

      Don't get twisted about it, man
      Those of us with common sense and a tough inner core?
      We get you and we are fine.
      Those who don't possess the above?
      No room for them in a lucid world.

    A few words about Nightwish (Floor Jansen), Dimash and more.
    Alan Dean Foster, the famous American fantasy and science fiction writer who applied his writing talent to such hits as Star Wars and Star Trek, maintains a music section on his blog.
    "There are many good singers, fewer great singers, and a very small number who are unique singers. Diana is a natural dramatic contralto. This is the lowest range for a female singer. She is also polyphonic. Roughly, this means that when she sings she often sounds like more than one person singing at once. As you can imagine, the combination is extraordinary. So too is her full range.
    Singers at age 14 can do things that astonish us. Witness the careers of Jordan and the Dutch prodigy Amira Willighagen. But even when included in this company there is something special about Diana. I love the performances of the two singers I just mentioned, but they are (perfectly) controlled and measured. Diana is more akin to a force of nature. One of the most common descriptions of her performances is “shamanistic.” Some of this has to do with the remarkable timbre of her voice, some with the sheer intensity of her performing. In this she is closer to Floor Jansen. With both women you can see as well as hear the intensity, the emotion, contained with both the lyrics and the music. A duet between the two would be something magical.
    I’m mentioning her now because while she was remarkable at 14(“Rechenka”) and 15 (“Wicked Game”), she just turned 18 and for the past year has been studying at the prestigious Russian Institute of Theatre Arts in Moscow, and those studies have enormously aided her in developing not only her control but her upper register. The Russian music entrepreneur and composer, who has worked extensively with Dimash (another name you should know if you do not), bought her an apartment in Moscow so she could safely further her musical development."
    I would also like to draw your attention to this young vocalist Diana Ankudinova.

    • @monolit73
      @monolit73 2 года назад +4

      Alan Foster writes further::
      "Her first two-minute performance on the show (all the initial performances are brief) is of a very dark version of Elvis Presley’s “Can’tHelp Falling in Love.” I’m not sure what you anticipate hearing, but I guarantee it won’t be anything like what you expect. The show’s production values are also outstanding.
      Two things I noticed immediately when comparing this performance to Diana’s previous ones: first, her control shows the results of ayear’s worth of professional voice training, and second, as she matures her power is becoming fully unleashed. When someone says she blows you away, it carries a literal meaning. "
      Alan's full article on Diana is posted in my Community section.

    Joe is a class act and a phenomenal guitar player actually of many styles. His guitar teacher used to be the late great Danny Gatton. Blues/Rock is his forte but he can play a lot of other music very well too. The SRV reference is perfect to describe keeping the Blues alive. Same as Slash bringing Rock back. Joe looks like your ordinary Joe until he has a guitar in his hands. Keeping the Blues/Rock music alive he has also put out alot of signature guitars for players to learn or advanced. He is a Geek in a good way lol. As far as The White Boy reference?? I can dig it and no one should be triggered. Keep music alive the language we can all enjoy.

    If you haven't reacted to Joe & Beth Hart's version of "I'd Rather Go Blind" (ruclips.net/video/UEHwO_UEp7A/видео.html), then you're missing out. I saw Etta James do this song live--she was GREAT--but I actually like Joe and Beth's version better.

    By your criticism you express that you’re an expert in racial matters. Well, actually, you’re too young and very far behind the valid commentators. I understand because you’re a very young and inexperienced black girl.
