Good looking rifle, I've own several Henry's. They are quality and fun to shoot. I've seen mixed reviews on reliability on this model, glad to see you got a good one.
They run great with Glock mags. Honest Outlaw had issues with the proprietary mags and I had LOTS of issues with the Sig mag well. I switched to the Glock mag well and it runs flawlessly.
Shot one at my local range. Liked it a lot. I sent a message to Henry asking if they might release it in .45acp. Was told the message would be passed to the appropriate people. Sent the same message to Ruger asking the same question regarding the PC Carbine. Ruger responded that chambering .45 or 10mm would make the guns excessively heavy. So hoping Henry will find a way to do it.
Henry can do it. Their bolt mass for the blowback operation is in the handguard. So they have the headoroom. But Ruger PC keeps all of the mass in its bolt that is not even telescoping. They cannot accommodate anything larger than 9mm or .40 S&W. The question is only if Henry will do it. It all hinges on the sales success of the 9mm version.
NEVER going to happen.....45 caliber carbines DO NOT SELL--never have. Last was the Beretta CX4 in 45 and it was such a bad seller, they couldn't take it off the market fast enough. 45 doesn't sell in handguns either unless its a 1911. Glock and Sig 45's don't sell well either.

Nice looking rifle, Dan. Thanks for the review. I wish it was made in a more useful chambering. Seems like such a waste of machinery. Put it out in .357 Magnum and/or .44 Magnum, use a rotary magazine if needed for the rimmed cartridges. Other cartridges that would be better are .30 Carbine, .350 Legend. I'm thinking along the lines of a modernized version of the Winchester Model 1907 and .351 WSL cartridge (which it resembles) rather than a rifle hindered by being chambered for a mediocre pistol round. Even if the receiver/magazine length needs to be modified, I think it would be a far more useful firearm. The practicality of 9mm chambered carbines is just WAY overstated.
Yeah that's what we need...a revolver with no protective cover for the ejector, and sights that cant be adjusted for wind.....and priced $300 more than Ruger or S&W.........what a joke......Henry needs to stick to lever actions.
The announced "S&W and P320" magwell has not yet materialized. It's still on the website, but it's marked "sold out" since the day zero. It does not exist. It probably was a mistake on their part, I expect that they'll split it into two.
The Sig mag well is available now which I initially ordered but it was very unreliable with Sig mags. Since all the positive reviews are with Glock mags, I ordered that and it runs flawlessly with Glock mags. Even if you don't own a Glock but still want this firearm, just order some Magpul Glock pmags as they're a lot cheaper than the factory mags (which aren't near as expensive as Sig mags) but they're just as reliable as the factory Glock mags.
I got one of these. I initially got the basic version with the Henry mag well only and ordered the P320 mag well. I was hoping to have additional use for my overpriced Sig mags. LOL!!! Sadly, it was a jam-o-matic with the P320 mags. It wasn't just break-in either. I took it to the range a few times, shot at least 200 rds each trip and cleaned/oiled it after every session but it was continuously problematic (FTF or bolt not locking back on last rd). Then it occurred to me, all the positive reviews is with the Glock mag well so I ordered that. Runs flawlessly with the Glock mags. So yeah, if you're in the market for this, get the Glock mag well. If you don't own a Glock but still want this firearm, just order some Magpul pmags as they're cheaper than the factory mags but are just as reliable.
I notice you post this on many of the Homesteader reviews. Did you reach out to Henry for assistance on getting it right with the Sig mags? And did you have any M&P mags by chance to try? I'd like a pcc with M&P mag compatibility, and this appears to be the best option. If I have to run Glock mags I either won't buy a pcc or I'll get the Ruger pcc.
@gregkloe yeah, I've sort of been on a mission to warn everyone to not make the mistake I made. No, I didn't reach out to Henry. I suppose I should've at least contacted Henry about the issue but instead of going through the hassle of returning it, I just found an alternative solution that worked. I appreciate what Henry was going for with multiple mag well options but with my experience, it's essentially a Glock mag firearm. A seven pound carbine with the possibility of numerous malfs, in a weak caliber. If I am carrying a rifle, I am afraid that I must insist on it being in a rifle caliber.
To each its own but if anyone spends $900 on a peashooter 9 mm especially Henry have rocks in their head. Nowadays people are lenient are do not know what a good raffle is. I picked up a 22 lever action Henry about a year ago brand new in a gun shop the forearm was so loose it felt like it was going to fall off the wood was terrible and who in the hell would build a lever action rifle with a aluminum receiver and then charged over $400 for the rifle. All of your yellow boys or Golden Boys whichever you prefer if they are in a larger caliber and you do shoot it quite a bit you will have headspacing problems with it. Brass is not durable at all and how do I know this because I've been a shooter for 50-plus years,
Henry doesn't make an aluminum receiver Goober.....and if you had a problem with that Henry it had a 100% warranty--they fix for free and pay shipping both ways.....never seen a Henry with headspace issues....I dont think you have either.
What manufacturer would chamber a super obscure caliber over the most common center fire caliber though? They want to sell them. Also 357 sig is probably too hot for a simple blowback action like this gun has.
It's pretty solid actually. Most other PCC are polymer and lighter whereas this one is somewhat heavy because of the wood furniture. Plus the receiver, though aluminum, is rigid as well. The barrel is of course steel and there's a counterweight under the handguard that the bolt attaches to via a pair of action bars. It functions more like a shotgun than what you might expect from a blowback operated firearm.
Fine looking Firearm A tad pricy for a 9MM carbine. But, its a Henry. I’m hoping Henry will eventually offer it in a non threaded barrel version. For us folks behind enemy lines

Henry doesn't make an aluminum receiver Goober.....and if you had a problem with that Henry it had a 100% warranty--they fix for free and pay shipping both ways.....never seen a Henry with headspace issues....I dont think you have either.
looks like a long tommy gun

It'd be cool to put some Glock nuts (double drum mag) on this thing.
Oh I like that idea
The Henry AR-7 is autoloading
Thanks bud

Too heavy for a carbine and over priced. 5 round mags? seriously?
.357 Sig is the only meaningful PCC caliber (but who makes it?) If you can’t get that (and you almost can’t), save your money and buy a .22 carbine.
What manufacturer would chamber a super obscure caliber over the most common center fire caliber though? They want to sell them. Also 357 sig is probably too hot for a simple blowback action like this gun has.
Agree with 66
Why wouldvyounbuy this overpriced pcc when you can get a Ruger for half the price?
Useless rifle. Get a 5.56.
I have more rifles in 5.56 than I can count
Have you noticed how gumakers are comming out with guns that are weak for both hunting and combat. The gun channels actually push this crap.
Crap? Cmon James
It looks cheap.

Very nice rifle. Good video.👍👍
Thanks Gary
Fine looking Firearm A tad pricy for a 9MM carbine. But, its a Henry. I’m hoping Henry will eventually offer it in a non threaded barrel version. For us folks behind enemy lines
Thanks ironhorse
My Henry homesteader was an absolute disaster. I'm happy to be done with that gun. I tried to like it, but it was just so unreliable. I got rid of it and got the ruger pc carbine, and it is so much better.
Sorry to hear that Lead
When your Ruger PC extractor breaks and plastic recoil buffer shatters you will wish you had a Beretta CX4 instead.
@@chadhaire1711 naw I'm good those parts have already been upgraded I'm not worried one bit about them breaking.
Nice rifle
Thanks mutt
