To me, when it comes to the drummers, Jukka was like a wild werewolf, pure raw power, Kai is like the terminator, a machine, precise and lethal on the greatest way.
I love the back and forth quarrel between Marko and Floor, he being a ocean Devil chasing after a Mermaid Goddess, at the end, she won the battle and got away from him, with that powerful voice of hers 🤘
Marko's Devil character is amorously pursuing Floor's mermaid character. She is having none of it, and manages to get away.
Floor and Marko both kill it, I love the back and forth between them. And Floor was not 100% at this show. She had been sick with the flu a show or 2 before this.
Kai Hahto joined Nightwish in 2014. Original drummer, Jukka Nevalainen ,had to step aside due to health issues caused by severe insomnia. So, he called his friend ,Kai from Wintersun.
As a drummer, you will probably love Kai's work on Sons of Winter and Stars by Wintersun.
And for more Nightwish, I recommend Romanticide from Wacken.

Some songs where Marco takes the lead. High Hopes (Pink Floyd tribute). The Islander Live from Tampere, Kiss While Your Lips are Still Red live from Wembley arena. Every one gives a slightly different take on Marco's voice. Enjoy.

Mermaid goddess sets the dolphins free from the devil in the deep dark ocean. The precision in this piece to nail the notes by each member of the band is meticulous, considering the tempo. I honestly think this is a masterpiece and it goes well with another theatrical vocal splendor titled "Slaying the Dreamer". It's from the same concert Live in Buenos Aires. I highly recommend it. Again great Reaction with well noted details professionally! NW song suggestion: Weak Fantasy from Tampere, Finland 2015 Live Concert is a great one. It is a criticism of the religion and other stuff the men in power force feed and manipulate to people especially starting from childhood. Great energy, great tones and great singing by Marko and Floor.

Kai's drumming on this is just crazy ( Kai Hahto "The Human Metronome", or in my book Kai "The Machine Gun" Hahto )!!!
In one interview Tuomas/Marko said that Floor has a lungs of a dolphin (That long note is 💥)!!!
Plus, she holds the last note (A4) of Nightwish - Ad Astra for 17 seconds (10/6/2022 Sweden Festival).
If this wasn't impressive enough, I can also add than now she's just one, I mean ONE, second short from equaling Pavarotti's longest belt ever recorded.

Adams's main vocal influence is Ian Gillan; Adams declared in an interview that he used to go to every Deep Purple show as a young man because he loved Gillan's voice. However, he has also worked to create his own, personal style. His voice covers 4 octaves from bass B1 to the soprano C6. As Adams has aged, his vocal high end has decreased, so recent Manowar albums are tuned lower than earlier albums.

With Nightwish the scale start at "good" and goes up from that! For fun and interesting i recommend "song of myself" (Wacken) and "7 days to the wolves "(wembley),but really anything is going to be entertaining.

The journey is still in the starting lines.. ;) You haven't heard Troy yet and the folkier songs (My Walden, Harvest or The Islander recommended). Nightwish version of High Hopes is interesting since it is so different from original. And then there's songs with original singer Tarja (Phantom of the Opera recommended). Dead Boys Poem is definitely one to check out (Buenos Aires version for example) and then there's the grand scale of The Greatest Show on Earth.. I wish I could play well enough to play these songs myself.

This is definitely the best version of this song, previous live versions have just pre recorded vocals for markos part. He adds alot to the song

Awesome reaction! Every song that finds Troy coming in with a second electric guitar and his E-bow has an added dimension. You can hear his drone playing in the last minute backing up Emppu's high paced chords. I love this song's performance and the whole Buenos Aires set list. This is the show the features Dead Boy's Poem right in the middle. That song is certainly worth a watch as it creates an incredibly emotional atmosphere. It's among Tuomas' greatest compositions. This is my fourth time watching you react, and at first you would talk straight through Floors singing. But now you are almost drewling when she sings and you hardly ever talk through it or interrupt her. That’s love.

You'd like Marko's finale with the band, Endlessness, on the Human Nature album. It's the last song of the album. Floor has a verse and some harmonies but Marko is the lead and gives us his really amazing rich folky tenor.

It may sound dumb, but that bit when floor goes into the "we shall" part always brought to mind (Yeah, the flame background was there already) but a firebird blowing out of certain death, and soaring triumphant.
It's crazy to think this song was written by biology student over 24 years ago...
Tuomas was supposed to study biology in University back then, instead he wrote Oceanborn album(released 1998) including this song. Album became their breaktrough album, it sold platinum in Finland.
I really enjoy how taken aback you are by things the band does that we've (most of the viewers) seen over and over. When you point something cool out, makes me, at least, appreciate it anew!
Kai Hahto on drums is a superior technician, perfect posture, and he has skills you don't often see, like switching his lead hand from right to left and back...just cuz he can. Highly recommend his drum cams and clinics videos. I think he's one of the best of a generation.

Overall it is the ocean Devil trying to lure thd Mermaid to join him and she is refusing.

If only I were better! Practice though. Practice practice practice! First one on my list I think though is Storytime, that one super chunky guitar riff makes my heart smile. That's my first goal. Thanks for the awesome reaction! I like hearing it from your perspective, which is a bit different from the typical vocal coach/"musician" reactions. Not to mention it's great to hear more about Jukka/Kai, they're both just as amazing as they are different.

This is one of my favorites of theirs because the composition is just all over the place, in a good way. Musically it's just interesting and fun to listen to, kind of keeps me on my toes. And yes, her outfit is badass. Probably my favorite concert outfit of hers so far. 😍
To answer the video question, I'm trying to learn The Islander on guitar (and singing along with it) but it is hard! Lol 😆 That's one of the ones to listen to if you want to hear Marko's vocals in a different style.

Has anyone pointed you in the direction of Ayreon yet? When it comes to painting a picture with instruments, I don't think there's anyone who comes close. Including Nightwish.
"The day that the world breaks down" is a good place to start to get a bit of an idea of what I mean.
The "universe live" show is a good place to find a smattering of the highlights in the discography, but to get the full experience I recommend picking any album and listening in track order as they are audiobooks on steroids. Pretty much every song is outstanding, but when you start to get into the story you will find so much more than I could put into words.
If you prefer live performances, "into the electric castle live & other tales" is going to be a ride you won't soon forget.

He's also active here on RUclips. If you ever have any trouble with videos getting blocked, send him a message and he'll get the record label to remove it. He actually likes people sharing this journey together, and personally I think we'd be creating a better future if we share it.
It may be too much to cover everything in reactions, but when people get curious about the rest of the story (the albums tie into one another sort of like the marvel universe), they might find life lessons where they wouldn't expect and help us all become proper owners of our future

One song you're going to get a ton of requests for is The Poet and the Pendulum. It's about the backlash Tuomas received after Tarja was fired, so some research is recommended for that one. A couple great ones featuring Markos' vocals would be The Islander and High Hopes.

No one ever comments on Tuomas playing that keyboard as he is playing percussion. He do that in most (all?) songs. Never seen it be done that way. How long will the keyboard survive?
