Happy October, everyone!! We are taking a short break from Chrono Cross to give you this awesome track from The Great Ace Attorney: Adventures! HUGE thanks to Chromatic Apparatus for playing cello for me, it turned out so beautifully! What other Ace Attorney tracks should I do? Let me know in the comments below! 0:53 and 2:03 I don't know music theory but I think that last note on the contrabass should have been A# but one key higher... It only stood out to me because that's my favourite part of this track. I think in the original the contrabass does play the same key you played but there's a separate instrument (cannot tell which one) playing the one I'm saying which overpowers it. Missing that in this was a bummer, but such a minor detail anyways. Other than that, this is a fantastic cover of one my favorite video game tracks. Thank you for it.
Hey! So if you listen closely in the right ear when the cello plays the part in the original, you can hear it playing the lower octave A#/Bb while another instrument (probably viola) plays the upper octave A#/Bb to compliment it. So I think we are both technically correct :) I transcribed this from the 2021 release, where I think things were mixed a bit better so the cello melody stuck out more. And we as artists are bound to miss things or even take creative liberties when making covers, so it's always appreciated when people remember that 🎶 I try to be close to the original as much as I can, but I also want to inject my own style as well!
I was so very excited when I stumbled across this track on Spotify two days ago. This is one of my favorite tracks in the game, and you've covered it so beautifully!!! I don't know music terms, but I love how you developed the track to keep building, like with the beats that kick in around 1:23
