“if you want to minister to the people of Brooklyn, you have to overcome the idols of Brooklyn … i realized that the same things that had their teeth into people I was pastoring, had their teeth into the city I lived in, and had their teeth into me”
So true, going back to the simple yet fundamental. The Lord revealed himself to me when I was 12 yrs old when I was urban refugee in Chiang Mai. God landed me in NYC 2004, experienced a handful of churches in America and my heart, spirit, and soul wonder why church feel and sound less of God (and His Kingdom) more of this world eg. "strategies", "leaders", and so caught up with internal church operations etc. So happy to see this type of content is highlighted. Praise God!!!
Oh my goodness! I discovered Tyler accidentally and have been voraciously listening to everything he has available online. Jesus, a few years ago moved me into a season of much prayer- more than I would have imagined. I have given up much security to spend time with Him (the only One Who is Security). Anyway, in the early 2000s I was on staff at a church in Orlando and so was Jon- before he started his church in New York. He brought in Vegamite for me to try!
Tyler is amazing. He’s started a prayer movement at 13 and in New York and now he’s moving Bridgetown to become a House of Prayer. After watching him since September when he became Lead Pastor at Bridgetown. I believe he’s anointed , gifted snd experienced to move Bridgetown into a House of Prayer and they will impact the culture for Christ! But I sense his purpose is larger than that - the hope for the Church in North America!
Loved this. Thank you Jason and Tyler. I'm up in Canada, Alberta going to Bible College. I watch all of these and they have helped me so much. I'm in my third year of pastoral ministries and have one year left. When you guys started to talk about a love for the lost I started to cry. That's my hope for people as well. Thank you guys for the wisdom.
Great interview
