RIP Brother. Such a beautiful strong runner
He would have shattered so many records.
Could be fun watching Wanjiru against Kipchoge
I agree but my money is on Sammy. Wanjiru is not only younger than Kipchoge, he was pretty much undefeated in the half/full for 5 years, with CRs, WRs and ORs, all of this 4 years before Kipchoge even did his 1st marathon.
@@ultimaice Yes, Sammy all the way. He was the best, in the era before supershoes came about.
Wanjiru was only 5'4". Thats incredible.
R.I.P. Sammy.
he is not even sweating !!
Hero Ethiopian kebede we proud of u! good begining....Go run for GOLD...
amazing work rate !
what a crazy pace, the 10km pace was too fast i think, however the kenyans are no from this planet jeje, nice video
I have been running for 7 months too, a 6 min mile is a challenge for me so don't feel bad :D
Good luck Jawad
تبارك الله على العداء المغربي جواد غريب بطل العالم مرتين في المارطون.
I'm pretty sure they do run ultra only when they are training but maybe only a few times to avoid any injury. Plus marathon is the only event where its big and popular more sponsors and big money.
The state qualifying time for the mile in MD was 4:42, equal to Patrick makau's WR splits... wdf
Jawad gharib was here
I wonder if he hadn't passed how much more would he have achieved?
RIP
It's Makau from Kenya, actually.
@pavelkostov how come kenyans dont run ultra marathons
What the hell are you talking about? Bekele has been consistently the best runner in the world since 2003/2004... he hardly loses any races he enters. He's inconsistent, because of an injury? No, that's another point: he gets injured, yet still is able to come back as the best athlete in the world. He did that this year... rethink inconsistency mister.
@TheLinkMedic Haha I know what you mean. I cannot run one mile at the pace these guys sustain over 26.2.
wanjiri?
do the best go in the front? idk
The REAL world record here is how many times an announcer can mispronounce the most different names and words in one shot.
True - but on an individual basis, Sammy has a bit of a reputation to develop. A lot of my running-mates consider Haile a legend.
When Bekele starts running marathons after London 2012, he will put Wanjiru's times to shame. Sub 2 hours, here we come.
Caleb Trotter do you want to reconsider this comment ?
Hhhhehehe
I am here reading your comment 14years later.
@pavelkostov Geb is Ethiopean.
Elite marathoners are incredible, Ive been running for 7 months now and can barely sustain a 7 minute mile in a 5k, these guys do 4 or 5 min miles for 26 and elite ultra marathoners do 100 miles at 6 min a mile. I feel pathetic LOL looks like ive got a lot of hard work ahead of me to even come close to these guys.
Geb can't win in a race that isn't setup as a time trial put him in a good field he crumbles Wanjru is the best racer
@pavelkostov true
Daniel Komen during the 3k world record. Haha. Well obviously that's not as bold as joining the pace setters in the marathon but yeah.
@mrembo87 he isn't close to Haile's record.
And haile isn’t close to Kipchoge’s record 😂
@silentboyfilms he killed himself a while ago...
* first pointless comment
