The setting are all over the place because these are only the season launch trailers of the game, NOT ALL trailers. You gotta watch ALL trailers including the collaboration trailers in order to understand why in each new season launch trailer there are story gaps missing.

Fortnite now is more casual and fun then ever thanks to the permanent mode called "zero build", in case you weren't interested in the game because of the building
It's basically the same battle royale but like the name says, without the building thing. I started playing the game last year because of that.

I really prefer the storyline of fortnite from chapter 1 all the way to chapter 3 season 3. After chapter 3 season 4 it has felt messy and rushed. But you gotta watch the season trailers and the season events to understand it all 😭
