If LEGO sold this, they'd give us 4 minifigs with it
Haha! You're not wrong.
He's my predictions of the four it would contain:
1. Darth Vader
2. Generic Imperial officer
3. Stormtrooper
4. TIE Pilot
@@walterbryan1798 (Tie fighter sold separately)
they'd give us 2…
Lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Minifigures are a bonus."
They did make this for April Fool's Day, but the designer actually is starting to build this beast.
Sure thing, although it's still in digital form. Physical building might start in June ;)
where would they start building a 55 meter long build
@@CPiz321 a (very) large garage or a rented warehouse, i imagine
@@CPiz321 space
Uno reverse card...
This is a lifetime LEGO project, truly legendary. I’m not even sure the LEGO brick/system could structurally handle a 55m long ship!
I believe you would need to make an EXTRA THICC layer of normal bricks to keep it together
It could be possible. The XKCD guy found that a lego structure that reached from the bottom of the ocean to the surface could be relatively thin and avoid breaking from pressure.
@@KamekFox
Wow never underestimate the material properties of ABS plastic 😂
Well a lego brick can handle it's own weight 100000 times with ease
@@codywright2840 I do mean *never* . One time an ABS Canoe got dropped several thousand feet from a Bush plane, the thing survived with only minor damage.
Props to the designer for actually wanting to build that beast.
The biggest issue I would have with it is the resulting piece shortage for all other Lego builders
it would be 16m not 55m these people suck at math
You’d probably have to spend a fortune on a plastic brick maker thingy
(I forget it’s name)
The plastic, the other piece molds, etc.
@@TheRecollector7594 A 3D printer?
Joules Shed like the ones lego used
@@TheRecollector7594 Lego (and all other plastic toy companies) use injection molding, they take some plastic and put it under intense pressure, the plastic gets forced into the mold and takes its shape... I'm not sure if the plastic is in liquid form or if the pressure is so high it can be done with solid plastic 🤔
It would be neat to be able to put the UCS Falcon on the back of the bridge.
There is a MOC from a year or two ago of this thing you're mentioning here. I tried to google the image to link it here, but couldn't find it. If someone else know what I'm talking about let me know who the designer was.
@@BrickVault idk but i have watched ur vids for ages
@@BrickVault is this an April fools vid
@@hklegomaster yeah April fools, 55 metres is structurally insane let alone the pieces and design required
There are some people working on the concept (not brickvault), but it probably won’t come to reality in the end
I was thinking the same thing
This is when you know they're mature where they don't do the pranks that people do on April fool's Day
*technically* they are pranking themselves
technically this is really happening, in a few years time
I will die happy if someone ever builds a minifigure scale star destroyer. If it happens it belongs in a museum
It would *be* the museum
I they woulnd't put it in the museum they will be so uncivlilzed.
yeah but in a REALLY REALLY LARGE meseum, the thing would be nearly half a baseball field
you didn't try to do the math did you?... if you were to actually build a star destroyer to minifig scale it would be 16m not 55m
@@labsalt A roughly average height man in America is 1.8 m tall. A Lego figure is 4 cm tall. This puts an average man at 45x as tall as a Lego minifigure.
The Star Destroyer is 1600m. 1600 / 45 = 35.56.
At the smallest, a Lego Star Destroyer to scale would be 35 and a half meters long.
Crazy how a minifig scale death star would be roughly the size of two actual star destroyers
brickvault : will have to buy a warehouse
will have do nothing but build
will need millions of parts
will have to spend a hundreds, thousands dollars
build for some years
me : its all worth it
they could easily make all that back via tours, art exhibits, sponsors, college/engineering features ect. maybe even a partnership with lego for the metric fuckton of light gray pieces
@@joshbrock2663 i hope that Lego buys the finished product to display in one of their legolands if the guys are willing to sell it, but i think it would need some maintenance due to its weight, I assume that even the technic structure would bend over time because of it.
"this is either madness or brains"
"Its remarkable how often those 2 traits coincided"
Seeing this in person with sections removed to show interior detail would be absolutely incredible.
I feel like if you're making it, you WANT to complete the build and have the outer panels and upper levels all in place when you finally declare it finished, but then you remove large sections for public display so you can see the exterior on one side and the interior on the other
You’ll have to get a billionaire sponsor to bring that to live tho xd
or a millionaire willing to lose it all :D
Lol
Or many many people.
LABRAT71 really? (I’m stupid and can’t do math)
I wonder the cost for a brick printer thingy and the cost for all the high grade plastic and molds for the pieces wold cost less than to just buy the separate pieces.
If they ever do this - they should consider being able to open the model directly through the center line - then they could show off the interior as well. But this would require a metal frame structure for sure. Epic idea and project.
This is so awesome!
However you guys don’t even have a Venator build yet and you’re already jumping to a massive Imperial Destroyer.
“You will try!!”
I was not fooled by your tricks.
Your plan of the Lego death star was a big, big, big, big dream, I appreciate it☺️

I was about to say something about how it isn't April first yet but instead I realized that I have been up far too late
oh, ye i never thought about that
giving up on the death star eh? The emperor is not as forgiving as I am
When I first clicked this I was excited. Then I look at the date and just chuckled a bit. Then saying this is a real thing just put me in a bit of shock. I wish the best to the 55 Meter Club
I feel like this is a project for legoland or a partnership with Disney. This would be a good piece for a museum where people can see it in the round or build go pros into the interior so you can see in side without needing a dedicated opening or cut away
If this were made, it would be the greatest lego moc of all time. Nothing could even come close.
Until they built a minifig scale super star destroyer!

Oh hello there! thanks for the shoutout, BrickVault, loved the video!!! Also yeah....the scale is a bit too HUGE but...the Force works in mysterious ways :)
Only OGs remember the Minifig scale death star prank 😎
Lol
wasn’t that just last year??
im a og i guess
Wow man! That would certainly be one crazy project to pursue! It will be massive and outstanding! Good luck to the builder of this monster!
Wow, that's a hefty build to tackle, even in a digital format. For a sense of scale, the original Gundam is 18 meters tall. This Star Destroyer would be slightly longer than 3 gundams.
How much would this be 😶 You know what, I think I’d rather not know...
Yeah you really wouldn't because of how many pieces they would have to use which would mean that if they sold this it'd be the most expensive Lego set ever made not counting how much it would be on the aftermarket
*Vomits in poor*
Probably a couple 100,000 as a conservative estimate
@@puzzler1999 you's probably have to build a lego factory to get all of the gray you need
My guess is around $5,000-15,000 dollars range

@@Halo_Legend Tantine IV would be 3 meters long when build in the same scale as the UCS Millennium Falcon and the most recent X-wing. That should be possible for some people.

@@Halo_Legend A
@@anm10wolvorinenotapanther32 also time. A project like this would take forever
After they finish with that project, they'll build a Death Star Minifig scale. Then all the other capital ships in Star Wars, then Death Star 2, then the Star Forge, then Star Killer Base, then the entire Star Wars Galaxy
This is a hilarious video but no joke, there’s actually a guy on Instagram digitally building this. 8th fleet project or something. It’s literally insane
Edit: just realized they talk about him in the video lmao
You didnt watch the whole video? He mentions that
Has it existed yet?
If I was Bill Gates, I'd already have the entire 8th fleet built in full scale. This is like The Pyramids of Lego Star Wars to me. if they pull it off it'll go down in history.
If this has a instruction book it would be bigger then all Harry Potter books in one
It’d be waaaaay bigger than that even
You did this last year with the Death Star! I'm not falling for it again!
Tell the builder I'll come work for them when they start building it!
will ya? :o
Same
I will im a lego master
Built lego hellicarrier by myself🤑
What an absolutely insanely ambitious and challenging idea... I think they should start with something smaller like a mini-fig scale Tantive IV (Blockade Runner) first, which would actually be really cool now that I think of it since that ship has such a cool exterior and interior... has anyone actually ever built one?
I remember seeing photographs of it that date more than a decade ago so yes although i'm not sure if it was ever fully finished.
I haven’t watched it yet, and I already know its gonna be an April fools
Edit: this was a surprise, but a welcome one
I'm guessing those digitals are done on Studio? I can't even begin to imagine the lag on that computer. Whenever I try building something big on there it starts lagging at around 8,000 pieces. Anyone have a suggestion for a workaround for the lag / know how this guy might've dealt with it?
It would be cool if there were a LEGO themepark somewhere where builds like this could be realized ... oh wait, there is!
Damn this is huge and nice
Up next: minifig scale outer rim
Imagine if they released sets in minifigure scales? Not only would they be too big for the rooms in your home but they’d probably even be successful
Would a minifigure scale Gozanti Class Carrier be out of the question...?
....surprise? A Gozanti cruiser is also part of the Eighth Fleet :)
@@eighthfleetproject3446 are you going to do RUclips videos on the eighth Fleet?
@@potterhead_4220 possibly, whenever I have something to upload. all I currently have is renders

If they scaled it down to the ""trophy"" figure size it would still roughly be about 12 metres. Bloody huge but still far more doable and realistic tbh. Hope they can do it none the less though.
Can’t wait to see it
Wow dude Amazing
LegoLand needs to invest in making this attraction, split open for everyone to walk through and see it in all its glory.
I'm excited to see this if it's ever made
I’m currently one of the designers of this project!
Its not just about the logistics and economic limitations, if there even exists enough lego pieces.
Its a moral question: Can you defend taking up a noticeable chunk of the world's total lego-pool for one single project?
Epic build !!!
Cant wait for the instructions on this one :D
Love it (;
this is beyond insanity, this is absolute madness
I was like yeaaaahaahhaha omg thats so awesome and then I realized its april 1st. Btw making a real minifig scale star destroyer us ultra hard cuz u even need to find space for like 100 tie fighters
Have been following this project for the start
I saw this coming
Well played
You absolute madlad
Do you happen to know or have the make up of the docking bay in scale? I'm trying to come up with it but need some help.
Hey brickVault what website did they use to make those renders of the bridge and can you use that website to make an Lego ideas set vote?
Plot twist: they’re actually gonna do it, and they’ll have it finished by april 1st next year or the year after that
that would be a great plot twist! don't hold your breath though
Oof but still excited this gonna take a long time also imagine they also built the death star or just got the set of it and had the destroyer coming outbof it
@@BrickVault read that comment pls
Purposely avoided watching this knowing it would be an April fools joke but I watched it just to see what you had in store. Funny how that worked out. In retrospect, maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to make this a joke.
Even just making this thing digitally would be a really cool accomplishment
I've got 100$ take it or leave it
Light Bluish Gray Bricks = Out of stock 😂... in all seriousness, should be the most epic build ever.

Wow, Jack, great video and APD joke! Thanks for the many cool renders and paintings/artist renderings! Perhaps the world could build it in many modular sections, and then it could tour all the Legoland and Disney parks worldwide in a special painted truck and ships?

So true
@@BrickVault jack will there be an interior if this isnt an April fools
I kinda want this to be a thing in Legoland in the Star Wars attractions. A full minifig scale star destroyer on display. Maybe with like little cameras inside to show the interior.
Awesome
Man, I really had high hopes for the Death Star 😆
Would really like updates on this one though.
you didn't try to do the math did you?... if you were to actually build a star destroyer to minifig scale it would be 16m not 55m
@@labsalt No, I know. I just thought it was funny
Plot twist: They are actually doing it...
May the force (and wallet) be with this builder.
Let's be serious, this would be a multi-million dollar project that even the best master builders of the Lego Group would balk at. No way an independent fan would ever be able to pull it off, even with a group of collaborators.
I would suggest something like the Tantive IV, which would be about 5m (16ft) long. Still a huge challenge, but not unfeasible.
Nice build
Love the idea, but wonder how that would work out from the static point of view. This would be so heavy.
I honestly hope he goes far with the project. The whole project of making the real life lego X-wing into human scale was something cool, but a Star Destroyer at minifig scale with the bays fully modeled with a fully modeled bridge; that sounds like a museum piece.
More than likely it'll only have most of the bridge, the 2 bays, and be mostly hollow with an exoskeleton and endoskeleton to hold up most of the weight the pieces used for outside detail. The largest weight would definitely be due to the bridge and the shield generators.
I would buy this as a set and I haven't even seen it yet... Though I am sure it would cost thousands and I wouldn't have the space so I guess I probably wouldn't buy it as a set really. Incredible planning and work, look forward to seeing it completed one day! Make a minifig scale Hammerhead class cruiser from the Knights of the Old Republic era if you or someone else hasn't already! :D
I'll be honest, while I knew this was an April fools joke from the start, I genuinely wasn't expecting to see an actual work in progress design.
This would be my first family build, seeing that I’d need financial help hahaha
The "normal" UCS Star Destroyer has a tendency to fall apart by it's own weight.
There is no way this behemoth could be build completely out of Lego. You would need a steel frame with just a skin-layer of Lego on it.
It would be amazing for Disney to allow yall to build this in one of their theme parks!
Seeing the title, I knew a minifigure-scale Star Destroyer would be the size of an Olympic swimming pool.
Thank you for that. Helps visualize the size 👍
I was so hyped until I saw the date☹️🫤
all I can say is may the force be with you
that very small minifigure is grand admiral thrawn for ur information
what scale do you guy have your models in?
That’s insane.
Done this gag already, with the Death Star
Im just happy its being developed.
Nice
The very first thing you would need to do to even fathom to build something that would need a hangar to house this behemoth, is a system to hold it together, it would need a base made of concrete or a system of tensor cables kind of like the ones used to hold suspension bridges.
Wow! I can’t wait! Also where is that minifigure scale Death Star. Oh yeah
I can't believe someone's actually building this
The amount of effort they put in is worth over a million subscribers,
Really shows how insane the size of the Death Star is
Bro had me excited with that title
If you're going with a minifig scale of 1:42, you might consider trying something like an Arquitens. I feel like that might be doable (25 feet long instead of 180 ft/55 meters). Other options would be a Nebulon-B. A Gozanti would be around 4.9 feet/1.5 meters (and you could get the some minifig scale TIE Fighters in on that action). I think someone's working on that. A GR-75 would also be cool, though probably kind of finicky due to the design.
that lego GR-75 probably would have the structural integretiy of an actual in-universe ship 😅🤣
4:19
What do you mean "143.5"? Like... what scale is that? Do you mean 1:43.5? I'm trying to design some stuff at minifig scale, but didn't know what scale to build at
Question: How many LEGO fans would be willing to build a portion and donate it to have this thing built? Have the plans made public, have it broken into X number of segments, people sign up to build individual segments and donate them (each segment would likely also require the donation of a few dozen other pieces that the organizers would use to create the frame work and structural support). Thoughts?
