Nice. Such things are common all across. Even the taxis in our Goa are creating similar problems to app based taxis.
The Taxi guys are a big problem. They do not like you even if you are driving your own car.
Their is a very big taxi mafia in Goa.

Bro so sorry smh, I'm dominican and there's been huge fighting between cabs n ubers. A couple week's ago deal was made but doesn't look like it got better. Hope your stay is better than that first expirience. Don't be too intimidated they can be aggressive but most back down once you look at them and tell them no thank you or saying no money no tip lol they will leave you alone in a quickness.🤣
Brother I know not all people of Dominic republic are same, few are bad like taxi drivers but, still local people or security person's should be there to help if something goes wrong, here in India, if something happens like this with tourist, Co passengers, or locals come to help tourist and protect them from such bad ass people's, whole story gives message to people that your country is not safe for tourism as well as people are not well mannered, instead of laughing what happen with him, you guys should try to stop this nonsense happen on your airports.

@@rajMH1654 all sorts of incidents may happen anywhere in the world including India. tourist has reported many bad experiences in India too such as scammers, rape, and other cases that have been reported through international media. You got to be understanding, taxi vs uber is a new issue/ conflict coming up, not only in DR but also in the US and Canada. otherwise, Mumbai and Delhi taxi scammers are notorious in the world. fyi if you have never heard of the Dominican Republic in India it doesn't mean the rest of the world doesn't know about DR --- DR is one of the most famous and visited destinations for vacationers and tourists in North America and Europe. plus DR medical schools are famous among International Students. many International students come here for studies without any trouble cuz they know the system

I was there 10 years ago..but at that time DR was very tourist friendly..we were there for around 1 year and our office was at boca chica near Santo Doming..
It said to hear you had problems there but we all enjoyed a lot and have plans to visit again in future.

In Israel the taxi lobby got Uber kicked out of the country . We have local uber version cheaper by 10-15% but atleast the prices are fixed.
Same at our airport . You have to go back on 1st floor and exit and you can take local uber taxis. Rarely tourist are aware of this option.

Don't know if anyone pointed out, but Miami is not in fact Florida's capital city as briefly mentioned little after 4:00 minute mark. It is Tallahassee. As it is usually found in USA, major and important city of the state are not the capital cities. Like in New York too, it is Albany, not New York city. In California, it is not Los Angeles, but Sacramento, etc., Just wanted to clarify. Your videos are truly enjoyable and informative, your demeanor is gentle and non invasive. Thank you for taking us along with you at no cost to us even as the world is locked down due to COVID.
These kind of problems are common everywhere. Example.. in Sealdah Station in Kolkata similar problems occur everyday. But the way you handle these problems teaches us a lot.

Please keep adding the views of airport and flights especially of night it was so beautiful to see it and it was really a bad experience and why there was no security or officials present there in most of the airport they are present this was very disappointing but we have to keep ourselves calm and composed. You can also ask them for proofs or their ids maybe they would not have it but let's forget whatever happened and enjoy the trip.

When I visited Goa for the first time with my friends, after reaching airport we got to know that Uber Ola is not allowed in Goa. Which is very disappointing. The taxi owners force these app based cab to shut down, so that they can run their price accordingly.
Yes I know that's horrible! And they charge like anything, we had fixed fare according to airport rate card and we were still charged 200 Extra

Dude that's nothing. I tried getting other taxi at little bargain at karmali station in Goa, when I was talking to the private taxi driver 2 local taxis came rushing. They stopped the car on middle of the road to create a show. They literally started beating nd slapping the other guy. We kept trying to stop nd stop those local guys from fighting but literally like hitlers they forced us to pay 1200 for 25 kms and left us with no options. This is a mess. 🤐🤐

US based airlines normally do not provide any meal services for domestic flights. That was the case even before pandemic. Though you could purchase food from them, which was normally not vegetarian.
