Such great things to consider! All these factors will affect the choices you make within bilingual homeschool. I'm a non-fluent Spanish speaker and we have no local Spanish community, so those both definitely impact our homeschool.

It's challenging for those of us who live outside of one (or both) language cultures, isn't it?

I am Brazilian, just saw your book about Brazilian nursery rhymes and it's already in my list of books to get for her. My daughter is 20 months old and not speaking yet beside few words here and there. We live in the USA my husband speaks only English and I speak English and Portuguese with her but recently mostly English because I think listening to both languages was delaying her language development so I decided to try just one language for now and after she becomes more verbal (she is verbal but we don't know what she is saying LOL) I can introduce the second language little by little. For now I just want her to be able to express herself because she gets frustrated trying to say things but she doesn't know how. When she starts homeschool I plan to teach her to read and write in Portuguese, hopefully she will have a good Portuguese vocabulary by then.

Hi, friend! Your message made me so happy. It's great to hear of other families in the same situation. :) Sometimes hearing two (or more) languages can cause a speech delay for some children, but this typically resolves itself. I'd love to hear more of your bilingual family journey! Please keep me updated!

That's so exciting! There is a lot to consider, isn't there? Do you have access to resources in Ukrainian where you live?
I still sometimes feel a bit lost about where to start for the day/week...but then I need to remember that consistent exposure to our two languages (even if it is a little bit each day) is far better than nothing at all--even if it isn't entirely perfect.
The work is worth it! All the best for your homeschooling! ❤️
